Although, slavery was okay because it was justified by the standards within a certain era. We do the same thing of justifying our standards based on our own setting. In fact, our society still follows the same slave dynamic towards animals since we exclude a variety of them from having any moral standing. I don’t think you can really say “slavery is always wrong” if you follow the standards of a society that condones slaughterhouses. Not to mention, buying commodities outsourced from countries practicing child labour. We are far from perfect, and I don’t think we can ever say that something can ever be wrong if we are going to be a bit hypocritical about it.
@@Godlimate you would know it was wrong just by asking the slaves. They would have always said it was wrong to buy and sell them like cattle. And the issue with biblical slavery is that believers say god is love and all loving, but his word clearly says he told his people they can buy humans and pass them to their children as property. A god of love and compassion and wisdom should have known better than to say you can buy people. That’s the issue. So no. It was never ok.

The fun part about diana's excuse was that killing people because they dont believe what christians believed (aka. not allowing people believe what they want to believe) is exactly what the cruzades were about. @Technic That has been quite well demonstrated to be false. Considering the issues that plague this world, either there has never been a true believer in Jesus or the people who are true believers in Jesus care fck all for other people. Otherwise, why has no believer solved cancer yet? Or a workable solution for people existing but not living under minimum wage? Or water shortages in Africa? Either "all things aren't possible" for one who believes, or "all things are possible" for one who believes, there's just not one who believes, or "all things are possible" for one who believes, just no one who believes gives a damn. Omnipotence, even as a variance, will always have issues with the problem of evil.

The hosts did a great job with crazy proofs of God. The live chat was weird. Matt was in the last week recap and yet any comment recognizing him was deleted. Reminded me of apologetic channels.
The Live Chat mods have those amongst them who are wretched. Some spreading horrible misinformation about trans people to others that delete any disagreement with their point. I refuse to participate because of that. They need better training of their mods. Cause ultimately whichever ones are the bad apples they reflect poorly upon the others, and cause real damaging harm to people. I don't say this lightly. I saw one mod literally abusing their power to create harm on an individual. Wish I had the means to record the live chat, cause the mods deleted all evidence of what happened. I watched it happen in real time. It disgusted me. Attacking a trans women fearing for her safety, and then eventually deleting the whole conversation. If you have to hide your actions you're likely in the wrong, regardless it's a horrible look. they need a public apology, and a statement of accountability actually being held. Not delete the person being attacked's comments.
@James Jungles attacked is possibly to strong a word. Her real safety concerns (irl) were being dismissed by a fellow live chatter and the mod joined in on the dismissal and then deleted her comments. I use attack because the women was left harmed by the experience, and as a fellow trans woman it was very triggering to witness. Rather than sympathy or empathy for her, they dismissed her real life safety concerns as not being important or real. This was especially upsetting as hate crimes against our community have been on a general rise for several years now. This same Mod repeated the same transphobic misinformation that sparked the whole Woodward incident. I don't have any more details than that as I didn't capture any screen shots etc of the incident as it happened.
@James Jungles nah I'm good. I don't need you to act as an arbiter of what's right and wrong. I fully stand by calling it attacked at this point. I literally don't care if you believe me or not. Your decorum elsewhere has been less than respectful

@@joemiller7082 Firstly, Matt has done more than any other host for the ACA. Secondly, these stories are rarely isolated cases within organisations. So you'll say that dragons aren't "maximally great or tri-omni" but that is just your definition of god. The Greeks didn't think any of their gods are maximally great or tri-omni. Neither did the Vikings. If you want to include maximally great as a premise, then you must include it as a premise. Make it premise 1. 1. God is maximally great. 2. It's possible that god exists. etc. Doing this will make your argument more valid (but not necessarily more sound). But then my response is: 1. Dragons are maximally great. 2. It's possible that dragons exist. 3. If it's possible that dragons exist, then dragons exist in some possible worlds. 4. If dragons exist in some possible worlds, then dragons exist in all possible worlds. 5. If dragons exist in all possible worlds, then dragons exist in the actual world. 6. If dragons exist in the actual world, dragons exist. See the problem? If you are allowed to say that your god is maximally great, then I can say dragons are maximally great and my argument is EXACTLY as valid as your argument. Any argument that follows along the line of "Nuh uh, everybody knows god is maximally great but dragons are not" then you're just making up unverifiable things about your god and taking them on faith, while telling me that I cannot make up things about my dragons on an equal basis of faith. That's special pleading and cannot be the basis for a valid argument.

For those of you wondering about the one issue that Matt mentioned in his video: If you look at the second page of the News section of the ACA website, you'll see a June 16th apology from the ACA for taking a call from someone who previously harassed, doxxed, and blackmailed a show host. What they mean is that on Talk Heathen, they took a caller who was KNOWN for harassing, doxxing, and blackmailing Arden. Arden was on the live chat during Matt's announcement to confirm that's what happened. Matt wanted that issue handled better and in a more full throated fashion than just an entry on the News section. The mgmt didn't even want an announcement of this issue during any of the shows. The issue that Matt has is with how he couldn't get even a satisfactory discussion on handling this issue. But you can get more details by listening to Matt's video on his channel. But his video doesn't get into the details of the incident itself, just on how the board handled it.
I think he was trying to avoid bringing the specific host into the discussion, as I'm sure it was traumatic all around for them. And as the apology says "Personally identifiable information has been removed to protect the identity of the individuals targeted.". So possibly please do the same, they're are some really toxic folk in the comments already.

If you answered yes, don't call the show. We can't help you. Saves everyone time.
Matts gone. Biblical slavery justifiers rejoice!!!!!
4. You want to preach and don't want to be challenged on your precious beliefs
LoL, I mean, it's entertaining

The way this organization sweeps everything under the run is horrible. Not sure how much more I can support them

Firstly, Matt has done more than any other host for the ACA.
Secondly, these stories are rarely isolated cases within organisations. If an organisation allows itself to treat its public face, the one that people associate with the show this way, how do they treat others? How do they treat Dave and Forrest behind the scenes? The whole point of why he left was that if they could treat someone like him so dismissively and in such a bureaucratic way, how are they going to treat someone like Dave or Forrest who have been there much shorter if there's some dispute in the future? The whole thing just points to a very poorly run organization behind the scenes.

1. It's possible that I have an 18 inch d...
Oh, never mind, I think you probably get it by now.
But then my response is:

Wanting to mention his name does not equate to being a troll.
Just deleting anything related looked like desperation.
Pretty much the opposite of the ethos of the experience for me.
What blows my mind about Diana’s call, isn’t her terrifying stance on the crusades, it’s that somehow her pursuit of eradicating non contradictory beliefs hasn’t shown her the most obvious contradiction. Her entire faith is built on a guy who preached non violence, tells people “those who live by the sword will die by the sword”, who doesn’t fight back while being murdered, but she is VERY quick to give all the times it’s ok to murder in the name of your beliefs. A truly un-christian stance if I’ve ever heard one.
I think she was trying to get to a position of there was a greater good in spreading the word of God to save the souls of those "pagans".
She would have fit right in with the people at the time. But what is horrifying is that if the current political system allowed for it, she would definitely have advocated for forcible indoctrination, even if it meant torture and death.
Objective reality, indeed.
@@jquest99 You’re absolutely right. Listening to her hesitate before admitting (at least she was honest!) that the beheading of 2000 people was a good thing. The only ounce of respect she gets from me is that she at least was consistent. It’s just a shame her consistency is in support of actual evil.
Unsubscribed. I was only here for Matt.
Sorry to the rest of you great people. But an organisation that does that type of stuff especially a community organisation to a person needs a good hard look in the mirror.
Obviously there is some issues. And obviously those issues are waaaaay more pressing than the actual message.
That's when it goes to shit.
Matt explicitly said do not come here and talk about him so please respect his wishes.
No. I'll respect his legacy.
I don't think he said not to come here and talk about him. He obviously doesn't want people to come here and harass the hosts or the other volunteers
Really great show today.
Thank you Forrest and Dave, I really like the dynamic of the show with the two of you!
@Technic jesus is a fraud sorry if it may hurt your feelings
not the same without Matt, the board screwed up pissing him off and letting him go
What happened, ooh I am a cheeky person who loves gossip?
Imagine caring so much about Matt and then doing exactly what he said not to do which was to comment negative things about the organization on this video lol. He clearly doesn't want more drama from all this but u want that for him I guess 👏 take notes from Matt and just move on
@@AdsackGames No, we will handle it how we handle it. Matt has dignity and wants to move on quietly.
If you watched the live stream he was far from happy at the end of it and a lot of posters are not happy on his behalf.
How questions were dealt with whilst being fobbed off with an email address for questions was a pathetic insult.
Axp COULD have handled last night differently. What happens next will define Axp for me.
@@AdsackGames exactly, he had waaaaay too many fanboys floating around. Yes, he was great, also....he changed a lot over the years and finally....I m kinda sad to see him "go" (note: hes not "gone" just moved from the spotlight) but its his decision and something we need to acknowledge and accept....the show keeps on going
@@pinball1970 nah how u handle it isn't important. You're not even involved in the situation. You're right that Matt wants to leave with his dignity, so u posting pity comments certainly doesn't help with that. He specifically asked not to overreact and cause more drama. His fan base and the community of people that watched his video / livestream explanation knows he was wronged, let him move on and respect his decision. You're just injecting your opinion which is literally just Matt's opinion so you can feel important to his cause smh. While you're actually just continuing the drama. Tell me where I'm wrong.
Apparently, according to some of these theist callers, if you can’t justify slavery or the mass murder of innocent people, you are incapable of making moral judgements.
I was the caller and they put words in my mouth. I wasn't advocating to return to slavery and they didn't let me finish. I wanted to give a hypothetical with regards to morality. If it is actually timeless or does evolve as we go. I wanted to give a agnostics case
@@noskpain2792 you said that slavery 2000 yrs ago was moral and ok. How is that hypothetical?
@@kuromyou7969 Why is it according to you when God plays God by taking a life prematurely ( old testament) it is a moral outrage, but when atheists not all, but most thorough abortion it is a moral right. What is your reaction to this?
@@noskpain2792 what does abortion have to do with slavery?
@@kuromyou7969 I'm not sure if you're American, but my issue with chattel slavery we had was the white aristocrats were not following the Golden rule. A rule everyone I assume agrees with. Essentially don't enslave someone if you aren't willing to be enslaved yourself. I find that to be moral. But I point out the hypocrisy of atheists that attack the atrocities that was said to have happened during the old testament and then later turn a blind eye to the genocide of millions of unborn since Roe was decided and then reversed.
Diana did the world a favor, she disabused anyone of not being an atheist. Any group this person is a part of is one that a sane, rational human would NEVER be a part of. To be associated, even associated with any group espousing this moral framework makes your reputation irredeemable. Thank you, Diana.
Imagine these people in positions of power.
I can't believe she wasn't trolling.
Not so sure of what the ACA has become. Nothing against the Hosts. The Hosts are awesome but I'm not pleased with how they dishonestly have treated Matt.
Some Jan 6 rioters pooped in the halls of the Capitol. So clearly at least some people behave like other apes
Public defecation is legal sumwhere in michigan, n ur guna freak wen i tell u bou LA today and all the riots we jst forgot about
Aside from the nonsense that went down with Matt, these 2 are amazing. Forest is an absolute Joy. DIANA NEEDS TO BE PUT ON A WATCHLIST
I hope she doesn't also defend her faith by the sword, but I have a feeling she secretly knows that's batshit crazy
Willing to bet that if the first guy wasn't an act he's totally on a watch list already
Nice to see what 17 years of loyalty is worth to this organization. Well done being better shamers than JWs I guess. But now that the only reason the aca got to its heights has been shamed off the show by its own producers, its time for the aca to burn in his absence.
Keep deleting my comments and I'll just make more.
I’m glad Matt caught the games these Corporate pirates where playing, Matt’s not the one to F with.
Unsubscribed because of the Matt Dillahunty stuff.
Sorry lads. Can't support this show as long as its in the purview of ACA anymore. If ACA ties get cut, maybe i'll come back.
I hate nonprofits taking advantage of and driving away membership.
I hope y'all are successful, I really honestly do, but it's like the song that bookends the show.
"Never questioning the source from which your moral code derives."
Continuing under the ACA banner means you work under those board members, anonymous stakeholders, and so on.
You know your post helped the show right?
@@joshsheridan8239 I don't care either way in that regard.
If the ACA cares, they'll remedy the situation. If they don't, then I hope the rest of the hosts enjoy fruitful careers wherever they go.
I like the show, but I'm not gonna support the stuff the ACA does until things improve.
If my comment moves them up in the algorithm, it also means more people might see my comment, after all.
Matt will be missed 😢 he would have taken good control of the conversation with Diana
Wow,that Diana caller was one of the most crazy and worst calls ever
People like her are the reason why I am not only an atheist but an anti-theist. There's no reasoning with people like this. They become harmless to society either when they're so stigmatized they shut up or when they inevitably attack a building and get shot.
It’s really bad.
Unlike Dorothy , Diana is still in Kansas.
It's funny that there's some "worst call ever" and next week, there's some other batsh1t caller that causes someone to comment that it was the "worst call ever".
With all due respect to Forrest and other presenters here, and they are always awesome, I'm going to miss Matt Dillahunty. I don't pretend to know the details of their separation of ways, but they'll miss Matt as well.
For those of you wondering about the one issue that Matt mentioned in his video:
If you look at the second page of the News section of the ACA website, you'll see a June 16th apology from the ACA for taking a call from someone who previously harassed, doxxed, and blackmailed a show host.
He also lives with her! Which makes it so much more personal to him. Not only protecting a friend but his own safety
