Your reasoning for ranking the M's as high as you did -- that they're the most local team for you -- was the reason I started cheering for the Canucks back in like '98 or so, just with reverse circumstances. I was born in Seattle, raised across WA state, for years Vancouver was the closest NHL team to me so I cheered for them. Now Seattle is getting a team, and I'll be the first to jump on their bandwagon but it's a little awkward, having been a fan of what will probably be their biggest rival for so long lol
12:37 - At least with most baseball games you get a full half inning before the commerical break. During an NFL broadcast They'll run a single play and go to commerical.
Growing up in the Bay Area, my grandpa was an A's fan and my dad is a Giants fan. I adopted the Giants as a kid since we went to their games more often, but I never heard the story of why my dad chose the Giants over the A's considering they were winning world series when he was a kid. That being said... Shannon I wouldn't recommend visiting Oakland because the city is more dangerous than the worse parts of Vancouver. Haven't been north of the border but I can guarantee you and Yvonne wouldn't be/feel safe in most of Oakland. Only thing to see in Oakland is the Coliseum/Oracle Arena so visit there and get out as soon possible.
The Pirates are making it very difficult for me to get into baseball. I watch a game every now and then, but I honestly don't remember ever seeing them win one. Born and raised in Europe, so it was never a part of my upbringing/culture, but being both a Penguins and Steelers fan, I kind of feel like I have to root for the Pirates as well. At least the other two PGH teams are spoiling me... :)

I'm just happy that you didn't put the White Sox in the bottom. They're (hopefully) building something special. Renteria seems like a good guys and he was a decent manager for developing some of the kids on the team, but I am especially happy that both he and pitching coach Don Cooper are finally gone.

As a Tigers fan, the Astros were my 2nd team pretty much immediately once Justin Verlander signed over there. I was about 8 years old or so when he debuted for the Tigers and he had been my favorite baseball player since. When the cheating happened, I felt extremely betrayed. My favorite player condones cheating. It sucks.
San Diego vacation would be amazing! Baseball, Zoo Day, Balboa Park (my personal favorite is the Museum of Man), Old Town, Little Italy, the beaches....
My Reds are only 14th?! Well at least my second favorite team, the Washington Nationals, are 6th. I guess you and I will never agree on sports teams but I still love your channel and content! Keep up the great work!
1994 Expos World Champs. There was something about that Expos hat. I will always remember the strike happened on the first day of school. Cost Montréal a real shot at a World Series. Pedro Martinez, Rondell White and Cliff Floyd. That was such a likeable team. I like that Cleveland C maybe they can go back to Spiders if they use a new name.
I forgot about the wolves, and I live 20 minutes from the arena. I don't despise them, I actually want them to succeed. But to be frank, they've been a poverty franchise for nearly two decades at this point.
Cowboys, Whalers (Flames and Kraken), and A's fan here. Padres are my favorites National League team. After the Whalers moved, I didn't start following hockey at the same level again until last year for a couple reasons. With Ron Francis running Seattle, I figured it was the perfect time/team to follow. The Flames were my very first favorite team when I was 8 years old living in Calgary. When I got into hockey though and discovered the Whalers, they became my team until they moved. I was born in Newfoundland, moved around Canada a lot, and now reside in Newfoundland.
Yeah commercials are one thing I hate about watching baseball. But I was able to get the Fox Sports App on my TV and instead of commercials they just show a fixed view of the field till the broadcast kicks back on.
As an A's fan I learned to savour the success they get, but never get attached to any would-be stars they create. As we all know the A's are like a farm team for the Yankees or Red Sox, and they will go there for the money. So yeah I am a bit sour on the cap structure they have in the MLB, or lack thereof. Also I like where you have the Astros at.
Great video Shannon. Your sports knowledge is amazing. As an A’s fan, it is painful to see this team play so well in the regular season and then fall apart once the playoffs hit. With Billy Beane possibly leaving, that messes with things as well. I’m hopeful that in the near future, they will be champs. Anyways, loved your insight. Nice video
I was a die hard Expos fan until they left. Never got into the Jays until this year. With the young kids who kept almost every game close, they were fun to watch.
I'm a huge Atlanta Braves fan. I grew up in Seattle but my family came from Georgia. So I always kinda adhered to the Braves. LA Dodgers are up pretty high for me too, but that's because of the minor league affiliate the Oklahoma City Dodgers.
I am a Nationals fan because I am a lapsed Orioles fan. My greatest pleasure was growing up listening to Jon Miller call Orioles games. Peter Angelos and his family ran the team into the ground. The final straw was when Albert Belle was signed by The Orioles. He was my least favorite player and I could not deal. So The Nationals arrive from Montreal and I was smitten. I love baseball and craved a team of my own. Look, I know that MLB screwed Montreal. I remember when The Colts left Baltimore so I can relate. I have watched a lot of awful baseball in DC. I am also an A's fan. My biological father lives 10 miles from The Oakland Coliseum. I visited every summer and saw The Dynasty A's of The late 80's. Hendu was my guy. The A's now? Fun, because they are the ultimate under dogs. BTW Chris Pratt will always be Hattieburg to me. But I have been a Capitals fan for 30 years. As great as The Nationals winning the World Series was-The Capitals FINALLY winning Stanley was so much better. I could watch Ovechkin taking Stanley and letting out that cathartic yell forever. I never thought THe Capitals would win The Cup. Then it happened.
I loved the Astros of the mid 2000s, so much fun to watch as a kid. I was happy to see them win in 2017, but now that's just a joke. Baseball messed up big time just letting them walk off with a slap on the wrist. I wouldn't be surprised if more scandals pop up now because of how that was handled. I love my Rays but I think they're about to pull off history and blow a 3-0 series lead
Hey Shannon! I grew up in San Diego, as my Dad was in the Navy there. And we stayed after he retired from the Navy. The 'Murph' was 15 minutes from our house, and we went to tons of Padres games. They are heartbreakers, and lovable loosers for sure. And my one 'claim to fame' sporting event I went to, was the Holy Roller game between the Chargers and Raiders. Raiders cheated their way to another suspect victory that day. Raiders cheated just as much, if not more, than the Astros and Patriots have! It's a proven fact now. The replays don't lie!!! It's all there. Chargers are 'gone' now, running off to LA, and the Padres will take you so far, and choke it out. The only real good teams San Diego has ever had, are the Sockers(10 championships in 11 years!!!), and the Western Hockey League Gulls(4 Turner cups in 5 years!). The Gulls were fun to watch. They just overpowered everybody. Live in the Las Vegas area now, and root for the Golden Knights, but NOT the Raiders. It's too...'ingrained'(is that a word?), in me, to NOT like the Raiders. Um...nope. Now if the Knights could just win that Cup to validate themselves.....
My Favourite MLB Team: Detroit Tigers (Ever since I began watching the MLB, they've been my favourite team from the start even though they're going through a lengthy rebuild but that's what being a loyal fan is all about. Also Justin Verlander is my all time favourite Tigers player back when he was with Detroit (It's ashame his World Series win image is tarnished by the Astros organization for cheating their way to the 2017 World Series. It's too bad because obviously for his amazing career with the Tigers before that point and how he came close but the Tigers couldn't quite get pass the Cardinals and Giants in 2006 and 2012 respectively, he deserved a shot at the World Series) just edging out Miguel Cabrera. Hopefully with Spencer Torkelson, Reily Greene, and Casey Mize on the horizon for the Tigers, they can pull some kind of great run when they all hit the big league. It also helps that my avid fandom of the Red Wings translated to them along with the Pistons of the NBA) (The Seattle Mariners as the runner up since they're close to where I live and also Ichiro and King Felix. 3 other notable teams that I'm fond of would be the Giants, Red Sox, and Cubs) My Least Favorutie MLB Team: KC Royals (They are the absolute bottom of the barrel in my ranking in my favourite to least favourite MLB teams since I began watch the MLB where I would root for anyone that are against them. Not to mention their tendency to stir up fights on any team at any given moment, especially between 2014-2016. Basically them and my second least favourite team are the ones I have a fuming hatred towards) (The Houston Astros as mentioned are the dishonorary runner up for their cheating scandal and getting just a slap on the wrist for punishment. As stated it's ashame Verlander's lone World Series win will forever be associated with this diminishing any accomplishment he did under these circumstances. 3 other notable teams that I'm not a particular fan of would be the Twins, Orioles, and Pirates)
So I got a top 3 favorite and a top 3 least favorite: Favorites: 1) Texas Rangers 2) New York Yankees 3) LA Dodgers Least Favorites: 1) Houston Astros 2) Boston Red Sox 3) LA Angels (although I respect the hell out of Mike Trout but whenever he plays against my Rangers he scares me cuz he’s unbelievably good)
I usually don't have a 1 - 32. I have a top 3 and then a bottom ~5. 1 Lolmets 2 Loldians 3 Lola's 30 Houston 29 NYY 28 St. Louis 27 Atlanta 26 Cheestakes 25 LA
never been a big baseball fan, but the indians have their AAA down here so i guess they’re my favorite (i may watch a couple games a year... definitely a casual). i mostly just root against the yankees, dodgers, cubs, asterisks, etc.
I’m still in the lookout for a Tigers jersey so I can make it a Trammel. And I was a Dodger fan for a minute, back in ‘88 in the Orel Hershiser/Mike Sciosia/Kirk Gibson era. Switched to the Angels and never looked back. I was a fan of Eckerseley and Steinbach, and Weiss. Never was a Canseco or McGwire fan. Even in their heyday. But I still like the A’s.
My favorite two hockey teams are the Canucks and Red Wings...likewise, I love the Mariners and Tigers. If I had to choose a third team in both sports, it’d be Flyers and Phillies. Interesting note that I kinda like the Giants and Cubs, but I normally hate Bay Area/Chicago teams (definitely not a fan of the White Sox or A’s, Blackhawks and Sharks, or even the football teams). Teams I hate involve the Astros, Red Sox, and Dodgers. Definitely not a fan of the Yankees, but I actually think I prefer them to Boston. Dislike the Angels, A’s, Indians, Twins, Cardinals, and Braves. I’m supposed to hate the White Sox and I normally do, but this current White Sox team is tough not to root for. I really love the current iteration of the Padres too.
Decided to finally get into baseball and chose the Tampa Bay Rays. They’ve lost back to back now against the Astros lol. Down for the ride regardless now tho! #RaysUp
I'm surprised you've haven't been to a Mariners game yet. And a Kraken/Mariners double dip would be doable. The games just wouldn't mean anything, as the Mariners would be playing out the end of the season, while the Kraken would be playing exhibition games.
The astros should have been punished much more. They needed to not be allowed to make the playoffs for several years, kind of like how the NCAA does it with losing bowl or tourney eligibility. That would be the only way to curb teams who try to cheat
It'll be easier for you to go to the Seattle Kraken game that will be for me to go to a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game because from what I'm hearing on Facebook for the third level the cheap seats they want $300
Do the Nationals get bonus points for beating your least favorite team in the World Series? (As a Washington sports fan, I'm pleasantly surprised how high up the Nats are.)
Hatteberg said that Howe supported him. Furthermore, the movie had two BIG non-inclusions. A. They didn't include Tejada, who won the f**king MVP! B. They didn't include the rotation of the century: Hudson, Zito, and Mulder (?). The low paid guys were important, but the heavy lifting was done by the two above. Hollywood has been trying to distort the truth for their narratives for ages!
If they want a real moneyball club, they can go ahead and look at last year's Rays. A salary that is only 12m higher than the moneyball A's (nearly 20 years later), many injuries with no true star player, yet still won 96 games and brought the Houston Astros to the brink of elimination.
i like the expos when i was a kid i swam in a pool at jarry park. there was this guy that hit it in the pool a few times...he was great! mack jones was his name and dom zimmer was a coach,he always gave me his autograph. i found it sad what happened to him..was always nice to me then some ahat sold my team down the river just as they got gud... lets go expos baseball peedin my cornflakes >
Been a Mets fan since I was 10. So I’m Also in for a lifetime of misery. But yeah the Jays and As are my top AL teams. Top 2 NL ones are the Mets and Rockies.
I became an Orioles fan because of how often I got annoyed whenever Sportsnet promoted Toronto sports teams which I could never get behind (it was really between the O's and the Rays because I couldn't cheer for BOS/NYY) I guess I love miserable sports teams
You're a Padres, Canucks, Chargers, and Bengals fan? Huh. That's an... Interesting combination

3 other notable teams that I'm fond of would be the Giants, Red Sox, and Cubs)
My Least Favorutie MLB Team: KC Royals (They are the absolute bottom of the barrel in my ranking in my favourite to least favourite MLB teams since I began watch the MLB where I would root for anyone that are against them.
So I got a top 3 favorite and a top 3 least favorite:
Favorites:
1) Texas Rangers
2) New York Yankees
3) LA Dodgers
Least Favorites:
1) Houston Astros
2) Boston Red Sox
3) LA Angels (although I respect the hell out of Mike Trout but whenever he plays against my Rangers he scares me cuz he’s unbelievably good)
The Mariners are literally so bad that Jon Bois made a video series about how bad they are
I absolutely love your list. AND PLEASE COME TO BOSTON
As a NY sports fan, I’m very very sad to see thg be on the dark side 😂
This guy:
Favourite teams
Chargers will never win
Padres will never win
Canucks will never win
Clippers fan then?
Spurs
I usually don't have a 1 - 32. I have a top 3 and then a bottom ~5.
1 Lolmets 2 Loldians 3 Lola's
30 Houston 29 NYY 28 St. Louis 27 Atlanta 26 Cheestakes 25 LA
Mariners and Padres always have interleague games.
never been a big baseball fan, but the indians have their AAA down here so i guess they’re my favorite (i may watch a couple games a year... definitely a casual). i mostly just root against the yankees, dodgers, cubs, asterisks, etc.
why do you cheer against Chicago? great pic tho
@@meucanal9582 2016 world series
How do you make your team logo magnets?
I think we should be best friends... I LOVE the penguins, you hate them.. I LOVE the orioles, you hate them.... good foundation for friendship
Seeing the A's at no.2 and the Yanks at no.29 makes me wonder how you reacted to Derek Jeter's "The Flip" from 2001.
#RaysUp
The Cardinals would absolutely be #1 on my list.
I'm surprised you've haven't been to a Mariners game yet. And a Kraken/Mariners double dip would be doable. The games just wouldn't mean anything, as the Mariners would be playing out the end of the season, while the Kraken would be playing exhibition games.
Im from montreal and im not that into baseball and im too young to remember the expos but its cool to know that you would put them first
Sucks to know that you dont like the Canadiens tho
I've been waiting for this forever!
That vladdy comment aged well 😂
Let’s go Red Sox
The Mariners are awful but T Mobile Park is absolutely gorgeous. Highly, highly recommend. Been to several games over the years
The Braves would definitely be #30 for me but I am a Mets fan.
Yes. I’ve been wanting this
The astros should have been punished much more. They needed to not be allowed to make the playoffs for several years, kind of like how the NCAA does it with losing bowl or tourney eligibility. That would be the only way to curb teams who try to cheat
I'm not surprised but I was hoping the Mets would've been higher.
One spot above the Astros, you’re still more than welcome at Yankee Stadium Shannon ;)
Wow. When your both a Padres and Canucks fan as well!
If you like Tatis and Quinn Hughes?
Boston Babbyyyy
It'll be easier for you to go to the Seattle Kraken game that will be for me to go to a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game because from what I'm hearing on Facebook for the third level the cheap seats they want $300
Padres will win in the next 3 years. This year pitching injuries took them down...
Do the Nationals get bonus points for beating your least favorite team in the World Series? (As a Washington sports fan, I'm pleasantly surprised how high up the Nats are.)
Seattle Kraken sounds so utterly ridiculous.
Vancouver Athletics sounds nice.
My team cardinals
Dammit but the Giants... okay you cheer for the Padres.. so I get it.
My favorite team New York Yankees I started watching them in 1959
If the Canucks ever won a Stanley Cup, do you think it would trump the happiness you felt when seeing the Red Sox win the World Series?
Canucks win a cup vs. Penguins in overtime still might not match lol If you never watched that "Four Days in October" documentary, do so.
Since you talked so much about jerseys do a ranking of the jerseys too!
Chicago Cubs Fan
i like the expos
when i was a kid i swam in a pool at jarry park.
there was this guy that hit it in the pool a few times...he was great!
mack jones was his name
and dom zimmer was a coach,he always gave me his autograph.
i found it sad what happened to him..was always nice to me
then some ahat sold my team down the river just as they got gud...
lets go expos
baseball peedin my cornflakes >
Been a Mets fan since I was 10. So I’m
Also in for a lifetime of misery. But yeah the Jays and As are my top AL teams. Top 2 NL ones are the Mets and Rockies.
27:08 #2
29:08 #1
YEAAAA, GO PADRES!!!
i do like the marlins logo as a jays fan
Let's go Angels! Also, padres are my #2 team/ NL team
I became an Orioles fan because of how often I got annoyed whenever Sportsnet promoted Toronto sports teams which I could never get behind (it was really between the O's and the Rays because I couldn't cheer for BOS/NYY)
I guess I love miserable sports teams
Do this for the NHL on your Hockey Guy channel.
he has, plenty of times lol
