This actually excited me to see. I think so many people think being a full time paid RUclipsr is "easy" but certainly when you need to make several videos per day and report on current events, you're compelled to put a ton of hours in, and as you often say, you get virtually no days off, ever.
Super well edited videos took massive ammount of work too: either by the youtuber him/herself or multiple, even tens of paid workers. I think THG setup is great because no outside workforce is needed and majority of the work can go towards the actual following of hockey and talking about it. If you are making highly edited videos with multi person crew then you are mainly a manager and like 10-20% of your time goes to actual making of the videos. That would not work on this channel because the point is to cover pretty much everything that is happening on NHL (and little bit of other leagues too)
Great video Shannon, and the idea of pre-recording videos so you can go on vacation is perfect. You need a break, and scheduling content that's not time sensitive (such as daily news) works well to keep the channel active. Keep up the good work!
Thank you sir. You are putting in even more hours than a full time job. Makes the "lazy youtube influencer" comments even more ignorant and frustrating.
I think the most impressive thing is you're on the treadmill for 50 minutes? My man I can't run for 45 seconds without having to take a break when I jog.
Even if I don't agree with your power rankings, at least I usually understand why you put teams where you have. On TSN, teams are all over the place and have huge jumps up and down and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Also, where is cat feeding and petting on that board? That info is VITAL!!
You work very hard and I realize I am about a decade older than you but my question is...have you thought about what you will be doing say 10 years from now? That kind of schedule will be almost impossible to maintain as you get older. I wish you the best and continued success for as long as you can maintain it.
Can't answer for him but if I was in his shoes...I would just phase out part of the workload. Either no daily recaps or less random videos. Will clear up half his day.
Eh, it makes sense to me. Personally I watch every Sharks game and then watch some junior league games (college/chl/ntdp) to see some of the potential draft picks/our existing draft picks. If I want to know how a team is doing, the standings and looking at the last 10 or a handful of stats only gives me so much info. Getting a power rankings from someone who does watch all of the games that goes in a bit of depth about how teams have played is useful, and it's just a single 25-30 minute video I can knock out in under 10 minutes (I watch at 3.5x speed).
Shannon is making Shannon work too hard. We need to have a talk with Shannon about this. And you should wear a shirt under your shirt. I'M KIDDING. I don't know what that person who was complaining is on.
Thanks for working so hard, Shannon. Please make sure you get plenty of sleep. Your health > More videos.

Also how he set up his channel though (which I love). Some people shoot out a super well edited a video once a month and get millions of views.
Yes, two differents kinds of ''grinds''@@nathanbork2479

Love the hockey and Entertainment Guy content. Keep up the great work sir.
Shannon don’t forget to eat. You forgot to put in your meal times.
Need to see the board rotation and cleaning routine
Your efficiency is brilliant! Most of my day is spent trying to figure out what I want to accomplish, while actually accomplishing nothing.

Sunday mornings are reserved for relaxing with a cup of coffee and watching the THG's powers rankings
Livin the life! Good for you man, doing what you love and providing for your family 👏
hey Shannon, when do you manage to eat? Do you have a proper sitdown meal, especially on weekends?
You’re amazing. I love watching your hockey vids and you have strengthened my love for the NHL by a lot. Keep up the good work!!!!
I respect the grind and dedication
Thank you sir. You are putting in even more hours than a full time job. Makes the "lazy youtube influencer" comments even more ignorant and frustrating.
Shannon we really love your dedication makes your Hockey experience so much better 😊
❤ family time very important too buddy
Get that in for your life quality!
Thanks for the breakdown. I love how some people think being a RUclipsr is easy.
Shannon Skanes - the hardest working man on RUclips.
This is good for when I wake up early on the east coast and wonder when they first video will be posted lol
Amazing. What an incredibly hard worker.
The goat , do you watch content or anhthing like that while treadmilling or just focused and in the zone ?
“Fall into a shape you would rather not”😂

Ooo I love the history stuff!
Thanks again man!
you really said the line "I'm so tired, but I'm also pretty wired"... if you know, then you know
The only thing I know is I keep hearing this phrase and then seeing this comment and I don't know.😢
Wow, this is impressive.
Shannon "No Days Off" Skanes!
Damn with as much hockey in your schedule. You should start a hockey channel, but that stupid THG guy has a stranglehold on the idea I fear
First thing I do Sunday morning is tune into the power rankings!
Will it ever get to the point where you’re tired of watching so much hockey?
It’s better than working 10-12 hours so I’d guess not 😂
The Hockey Guy should be renamed. The Hockey Cyborg is more appropriate.

Luckily you live on the west coast!

I'm ready for TEG playing GTA 6 on stream lol
Him playing GTA5 was the most Canadian thing I had ever seen, and I'm here for more.😂
"Ope, sorey!"
The amount of work you put in is amazing. Especially considering you only make 20 cents a video.
I wouldn't last a week on this schedule, I enjoy my free time too much.
So when do you go to work ?
Shannon you work so hard for your videos. I feel you should earn more for your passion and work, my opinion.
it be funny if he did a gta 6 trailer reaction video on this channel like ever other channel im sub to has done to blow up my feed
Its funny to me that power rankings get the most engagement. They mean literally nothing. The human brain is fascinating.

Kind of gives me hope that you can still make money/be successful via YT. I wonder how much 💰he generates yearly 🤔
