People who do suicide by trains have no idea what it does to the train conductor! My brother has nightmares afterwards and has to sleep on the couch bc of the sleep thrashing (his choice). It throws them into a depression for a while. It’s awful! If you’re going to kill yourself then don’t force others to do it for you!

    • @Roadking556
      @Roadking556 3 месяца назад

@Austin-zq1oc I'm a realist . I take things at face value. I know many who have taken their own life. Everyone of them was dealing with something out of their control. Physical health, drug issues, loss of loved ones with no support .Financial issues, trouble with government agencies.and so on. Accident that caused severe disability. one or more of what I listed can send someone over the deep end. I been there. We only hear about the "beautiful " people . Not the people that have nothing going for them. Biochemical ? If it was that simple, then why is it happening at an epidemic rate? I'll tell you why. Because in general, we're so busy trying to just survive, we fail to realize and recognize the ones around us who need help and love. I can give stories after stories of the people I have failed. My counselor told me I can't blame myself. I played no part in it. Yes, I have. If I had called off work and took a chance of losing my job. I know at least two people would probably be here! Getting mental health care in my city is a joke. You can't get help here unless you have substance abuse issues. Professional mental health care people say they care. But they don't care enough to change their lifestyle for you. Go ahead and tell everyone it's all in their head . Easy statement for you to move on. While the rest of us lowlife who have been there, can't wrap our heads around how a beautiful young smart healthy woman ended it all. That means the rest of us don't have a hope in hell. And all you can write it's a biochemistry problem in the 🧠 brain. And I have never been there. You have no idea.

Some think medication will solve mental illness but in some cases the depression is so strong that the person is just tired. Tired of the mental illness, physically tired of forcing themselves to do everyday tasks, and tired of their life and the way their situations has turned out.

I ended in the hospital late Feb and have been struggling ever since doing the “ let’s try this drug dance”. I told the doctor yesterday he has until November to straighten it out or I’m cashing in. Winter is just tooooo much here. I have about 5 grams of morphine tucked away. Had it open and up to my mouth once in the last three days. Luckily I guess he called and realized where I was and added a new drug to the chemical soup I’m on. We shall see.

Lamont, as a suicide survivor, I can tell you that at that moment when you decide to end things, that's all your thinking about. Your not thinking about your friends or family. You want out. You want out of your body you want out the pain. In your mind it's not and never will get better. After I was r@ped I wanted out. Nobody could take away the fear, the pain the self hatred I had away. No one could stop the flashbacks. Now granted yes I do have severe depression and was later diagnosed with PTSD but if there is no help for people out there then that's what they will do. They are suffering and can not take it any longer. It's hard to understand, yes, but we live with monsters. These monsters are not under the bed they reside in our head. They are always there and never leave. We never get a break from them. Sometimes, they just get too loud... for the ones that survive and are living now think of them as Soldiers. Why? They are battling the monsters in their head. It's a war that will never end. That's the best way I can explain it. For all the other Soldiers out there keep fighting and stay strong 💛💛🧡

I totally agree with you. I tried to end my life on August 8th 2001. All I was thinking about was to end my pain and I didn't think about the people around me. If you don't succeed, like it did, it's after that it hits you. You feel the impact it made to the people around you and then you get hit with remorse and guilt. I will NEVER try to do this again because it's NOT the solution ... besides ... life is too beautiful to be wasted. Unfortunately, I had to do it to realize it. Life is beautiful and so worth to be lived to the fullest.
If you feel the need to hurt yourself, please get help. Suicide is NOT the solution. There's help out there. Please reconsider your decision. You are loved and you are worth it !

I began experiencing depression in my childhood, around age 6. I’m 42 now and it’s never gone away, it’s always been there. Even in what should be the more happier and easy times in life, it’s always there, waiting in the background. Literally, not a single day goes by that I don’t battle it and also thoughts of “deletion.” Even with medication, it’s there.
I feel so sad when I see stories like this. Though, with a different perspective, my immediate thoughts are like most, as in, “what a shame she was so young and should have sought help” what I immediately think is, “thank god, she’s no longer hurting and can finally be in peace.”
It’s a hard life living with this… for those that don’t experience it 24/7, be so grateful you do not.

My anxiety started before the age of 10; the depression came when puberty began. I've live with both ever since.
I read a poem about loss. Replace the words "your absence" with the words "my depression":
Your absence has gone through me
      Like thread through a needle
Everything I do is stiched with its color

I thought it was normal to wake up every morning with a sense of dread, as if the worst thing had already happened, and to go through every day hating myself and trying to find a reason to carry on. Antidepressants made me feel blank and slightly removed from the rest of the world. Counselling, psychotherapy, CBT, yoga, meditation... nothing worked long term. It wasn't until a bout of IBS forced me to completely change my diet, that I suddenly realised that the sense of doom I'd been carrying like a lead weight my whole life was no longer there. I had no idea it was possible to be totally at peace and content from within, without any effort. Totally unexpected, and led me to conclude that depression must be a physical illness, one that has a cure. Life is beautiful. I'm glad I chose it. I'm 73 and struggled with depressionmost of my life! I called suicide hotlines five or six different times... MAJOR Depressive episodes are very different from regular depression! You lose RATIONAL THOUGHT when you cross over! Probably to varying degrees but I experienced darkness that seems permanent!! One time I saw a quote on a depression forum, "If you wait long enough, it goes away..." For weeks THAT was my ONLY HOPE! That that was true!! That last hope kept me alive, and did indeed save my life! Each time I tried to go off anti-depression meds something would happen thatbwould instantly trigger another major episode. Within minutes I be into that irrational darkness, always accompanied by serious anxiety and a sense of impending overwhelming doom... Seven years ago I was feeling good and went off the meds to go through a twelve week free treatment program for hep c! At ten weeks they told me the hep c virus was virtually undetectable in my blood but they thought I had had cancer.. biopsy next day came back positive. I was told I had a fist sized cancerous growth on my liver that had to come out right away! My doc scheduled me for surgery ten days later and told me to take it easy until surgery. Four days later, I see a catagory five huge hurricane headed directly for the BOOT KEY HARBOR mooring field in the Florida Keys where I was living on my 42' trawler. I had no choice but to tie her up best I could and evacuate for Hurricane Irma. I was scheduled fir surgery the day the hurricane hit. Had to wait two days for them to reopen the hospital! They took out the whole left lobe of my liver but think they got it all. I did not have to do chemo or radiation and all my tests have come back positive since! That half of my liver even grew back! My boat got knocked off it's mooring ball and ended up on top of the dinghy dock but missed everything! No damage below the waterline and no water inside the boat! It was one of only 54 that survived out of roughly 300 in the harbor... Neither event triggered my depression and I realized I was cured.. I've been drug free for almost seven years now! No serious depression but still normal low spots occasionally... Could have been worse! Never give up!

Now that's a silly question. You have obviously never experienced unrelenting anxiety/depression. This is not normal everyday blues. This is persistent, mind-numbing mental anguish that leaves you hopeless and exhausted. Do you really think anybody WANTS to die? What they want is relief from their mental torment. If you can't understand this, then good for you...I hope you never do. But you have no authority to speak about something you know nothing about. Listen and learn. I will repeat what I always say on these threads. Not every problem is temporary. Stop saying that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. That is the heighth of ignorance.

I received therapy and support through victim support from the police ive only got my life back on track in the last year. I've trained myself that when my brain starts negative thoughts I start thinking of things good in my life, my family, the fact I have a job, a place to live etc. And sometimes thinking of a funny video helps, I remember a video of a puppy bunny hopping behind a rabbit making me laugh and that was a video I thought about during my bad times, it sounds daft but it helped.

My daughter has a scar on her chest going from the bottom of her neck down past her belly button. We knew she was struggling. That is why she moved in with us. She was so afraid of dying. I knew Lee. I was one of her followers but we came to know each other through email. There really was a reason she did this, but it wasn't widely publicized for the very reason of most of these comments below. People are ruthless & mean! The things I have read about my dear friend has broke my heart. She does not deserve the comments that are being left here.
Something I want to clear up. Depression is a monster & so is suicide. The person that is thinking of suicide is only thinking of relieving their pain...they are unable to think of what others will feel when they go through with it. So all of you saying that she was selfish or that suicide is an act of selfishness, are all wrong. Pick up a book or an audio book about depression & suicide & learn something sometime.
Please, please...let my dear friend RIP! She does not deserve to be bullied after life & this is what some of you are doing.

All deaths are terrible, but I always find that the ones that affect me the most are the ones where the deceased individual is around the same age as my own children. Lee was only 2 months older than my youngest daughter, and my own daughter has suffered with mental health issues since her teens. It's a horrible thing to mental illness as it's not as visible as say my own physical disability but it is equally as debilitating. You can look at the videos that the person puts out on social media, but it is only going to show you what that person wants you to see, and it is certainly not the full story. I understand the pain that Lee must have endured, and I only say that because I know what it is to feel suicidal and to try and take your own life. It is such a dark and ugly place and you feel so very alone. I'm sorry that Lee wasn't for whatever reason unable to access any mental health treatment, or perhaps she had chosen not to seek treatment. I think that the lesson to be learned from Lee's death is not to put too much trust in what you see online. I don't know why Gabby Petito came into my mind, but her and her partner SEEMED to be doing great until you get under the surface and the apple was rotten inside their relationship. Please talk to someone if you feel as Lee did. I would happily take your pain away if I could, but I can't. However, I DO understand, and I'm sorry that your life is this way. My prayers go out to the train driver because his PTSD must be shocking! Thank you, Lamont, for this video about Lee! From country NSW Australia.
