Reading God's words just blows my mind. He will never let down those who put their trust in Him. Thank you pastor for these teachings. God has blessed you with a beautiful talent. Praise God.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (May 16), Jeremiah 38:14-23 was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled Jeremiah: The Suffering Preacher of Doom or Preacher of Doom and Life. The beloved hymn, "Oh, That the Lord Would Guide My Ways," written by Isaac Watts (1674-1748), is a good hymn to compliment this Scripture, regardless of denomination.
Hello! Powerful message. Jeremi was a faithful prophet. Sovereign Tsiḏqiyahu was truly a man who lacked backbone as you said. Many lessons were extracted from this account. Evil seems to triumph, but Yehovah will bring true justice to this wicked riddled world. I made an association with what is currently taking place in Israel. There are some wicked protagonists whom the world lends support. I pray that many within Judah turn to Him. There are difficult times yet to come.
We have Documented proof in artifacts that the princes named In Jeremiah 38:1 actual existed: In the city of Lachish, found within pottery (as this was a customary technic to store things), there were small round seals (called Bullaes) with the names of Gadaliah & Jucal inscribed on them (see photo), and also found inside was a letter written on a cuneiform tablet written from Shelemiah wishing the King reports of peace and good news. Three of the princes names we have verifiable proof of. Documented proof of Jeremiah 38:4-6. Also in Lachish, within pottery like the others, written on a clay tablet we have an actual letter written to Joash, confirming the princes saying Jeremiah is "weakening the hands of the soldiers and the people".
I must be a weak man, by that description. I’m easily swayed by opinions I deem correct. On another note, I would like scripture that talks about standing strong against those that would lead us astray.
Hello! we have all been there. I encourage you to search out Scriptures that speak on trust n reliance on Yehovah. The Book of Psalms offers many. The way to avoid this pitfall of wavering is by reading the Word, asking the Father, and practicing putting that trust to the test. They go hand in hand. Abba Father will give you a firm foundation that will not be shaken❤

"There's safety in Surrender."
Obey the Lord and leave all the consequences to Him... As Charles Stanley Says.
I have heard one other fantastic teacher say those very words.

Great, great teachings.
"But it belongs to a man who could have had it all different if he had the courage to obey God at that critical moment."
