I've actually still only seen 3 examples of cheating so far, 1 of which was from several months ago. I mean, I understand completely that even once is too much, but only the player caught cheating should be punished, not EVERYBODY... And yeah, it's delusional to believe banning online events will lead to more offline events in any way, shape, or form... That's just too idealistic and not how these things ever end up working...
You know, I also wanna say, if somebody doesn't like online events, then they don't have to join it! They don't have to prevent anybody else who wants to risk it since it's their only way to compete... That's just crazy to me...

A big problem with having large scale in person events is those things are extremely expensive. The venue is expensive, staffing, security, product. The fact that buy in for these things is $30 is crazy. Having events online makes way more sense and helps out the majority of the players. I think they should focus more on having more large scale events online and leave the in person events to locals.
I think a great compromise is rework 10c big mom like they did sakazuki. Idk what it would look like but forcing an opponent to to trash a life the same time you gain a life is just too much for one card that comes with a giant body

Sim events for online events would be nice, especially if they got support from the higher ups. hard to cheat as far as I know only issue would be how to enforce time rules that I currently can think of and if you have a bad connection and the system lags
Stores just apply to Bandai and it’s based off your attendance rates product you carry etc whether you get approved or not. Stores also need 2 official judges to run these store regionals and that can be scarce in some places

I missed out on regionals in Kissimmee and I’ll probably miss out on the test cite that is also in Orlando which isn’t very far for me. I just don’t have people available to help me with my daughter. Cheating in On-line event does take from the community as a whole. If there are 500 Serial Luffy, and 250 of them were won online by cheating, instead of in person with hopefully less cheating or side events. Bandai eventually has to give out all 500 Prize cards.
As a complete outsider, why are the tournaments not ran through the pc client ? Seems like it would prevent some of these cheating issues. It’s something I appreciate how online Lorcana tournaments have been handled. None of it has been done through webcam

You're not gonna please everyone: Online events people complain about internet issues and cheating, In person events people complain about rounds taking too long, being too far away, etc. Having a mix of both covers as many bases and players as possible. Having played Bandai games since DBS Masters in 2017, its wild that you are speaking so harshly about Bandai, but Pokemon Co, Konami, Wizards, etc, none of them have had the level of player engagement and listening to feedback that Bandai has. It's not even close. If your argument is that NONE of the Card companies are listening to players, that might be a stronger argument, but to speak like its JUST Bandai doing this to players is absurd.
I never said it’s just Bandai. This is a OPTCG channel so of course the one I’m going to talk about is the one relevant to my channel and that’s the one responsible for handling OPTCG.
Online events also benefit people like me that live on an island with no official bandai support. Travel is way to expensive and the island is to small to host a regional for just our 10ish players.
Rampant cheating ruins competitive communities. People who play fair stop participating so what’s left after a while is just cheaters and toxic people. Unless they get really strict on how your set up is, online events should be banned for the health of the OPTCG community as a whole
Don’t know if online events should be banned but they are 100% a joke. The results mean absolutely nothing I would never attempt to even try to join in one because it’s a cheat fest in addition to any the tech issues. But if someone wants to go play in that they can waist their time it doesn’t affect me.
Instead of banning online events what if we play the online events on the simulator. Can’t cheat counters or pull hidden cards that way and you can just take a ss or download the combat log for disputes/questions

An I also played in that ppg event n I was going for lethal n it was like ur being repaired. I'd much rather go to in-person it's just if u not in Cali Chicago or FL ur pretty effed on in person's
I think they need to make stages or characters that "tax" triggers. Have them read when your opponent triggers a card they need to rest X don!! in order to trigger the card.
I think it’s unrealistic to ban online events . Just straight up gate keeps the “big” events more. I was lucky to get into nats and like 1 online regional . But that 1 online regional is way better than the closest in person regional in Orlando ; which is ~9 hours away .

If triggers were more balanced around every color, then we wouldn’t be having this problem. But yellow gets life manipulation and amazing triggers. Nami should’ve definitely been a green card. But they would’ve given her some booty ass trigger like KO a rested 3c lmao. For the non-attacking leaders, they should’ve been like Hody. Use ability = lose the ability to attack. The shutting down of online events is a brain-dead take, there's nothing that points to an increase of players going to in person events if online events are shut down. My locals is packed even with online events being a thing. If you're playing online you're recording your matches, so you can go back and show proof if you need. If you aren't you're just shooting yourself in the foot. Scheduling is another reason why online events are a necessary life line. Some locals run their events on obscure days where normal people would be working etc. As many people pointed out travel expense is another factor, after what happened to Nats in the west and how it was mishandled I don't see how you can say something like shut down online and just travel to the events. A friend of mine flew in from GA went 9-2 and got screwed by the event taking out rounds cause of time issues. Online needs to just start banning cheaters that are caught, stricter rules are a must. Lastly wtf is Zakazuki lmao
