this perfectly embodies the mood of MM1 in general. it feels very thematically different from any other MM game, even the NES classics. it feels a lot more isolated and morose, like you're truly alone in your conquest and expedition against wily
That's a good representation. I saw it as the 6 robot masters were all stages you can revisit to practice as much as you want. The moment you go to Wily Fortress, It's like the safety net has been removed. There's no turning back. No breaks either... Once you start, you have to finish it.
yeah especially when you consider the fact that this is the first time mega man was put in to action, it's not like all subsequent games in which he's already saved the world before so he is this beacon of hope for the world to look towards
it's like this because unlike the other games, you don't have anybody to help you here. you're constantly by yourself, and everything wants to kill you, unlike the future games, where in 2, you could take in the comfort that Dr. Light was there to make you assist items, or in 3, where you knew Rush was always there to help you a bit. it's not like this in the first game. once you're out the door, you won't be coming back to home base until your journey is completed. no backup, no support, it's just you, your gun hand, and a long way to go.
This has to be my favorite music of all time. When I first played mega man, the soundtrack, it just hit me hard. I wanted to keep playing because not only the game was interesting, I wanted to hear more of the soundtrack. I was then able to hear this beautiful masterpiece, and you can’t lie it was good.
And MM: Powered Up. But that version, while good in its own right, gives it more of the kind of feels you'd get from the first 2 Wily stages of MM2. I would love to see someone revisit it with the MM7 soundfont AND retain the feelings that this song expresses.
I listen to this one song everday everyday it reminds me of my good friend that used to invite me over to play video games when I was broke and couldn’t afford my own he was shot down by someone he will always be remembered gamers don’t die they respawn Rest in peace brother 😢
@@Crooky0 I'd say MM2 has a better soundtrack on the overall but the 3 or 4 bests MM1 theme are more powerful and have more impact than MM2 best themes.
Apparently, the first Wily fortress is in the pacific ocean, and where Wily hid before he steals light's robots. It's also apparently his robot manufacturing plant, which makes total sense but I never connected the dots on that.
@@danielc.6769 Well, you can at least use Speed Gear and can slide. But may the gaming gods bless your soul if you decide to try and do a Gear-less Buster Only run.
I'll say it, I prefer the megaman 2 one better. With that said, this is also magnificent and probably the most underrated song in the Megaman franchise. Very few 8-bit songs capture dread and urgency quite like this one.
More underviewed. This song was not easy to find and the only reason I heard it was from playing the game, the people who know it like it, but not many people know it.
Hermosa composición, merece mas reconocimiento... De algún modo, me hace sentir sentimiento de melancolía, algo de tristeza e inquietud con una pizca de que estamos llegando al final.
Supreme wily stage theme and its give u a fire up mood. U are going to take down Dr.Wily as no one will try to dare as Megaman and u are ready to die if its mess up o o. Great wily theme video here.
That song has similarities in structure and rhythm to this song, but it's uncertain whether that was on purpose by the composer (X5 is loaded with callbacks to the previous games, including a devil fight at the end of Virus Stage 1, so it's plausible) or just a neat coincidence. The melody is just different enough to where I can tell it's not a direct remix though.
I'm glad I played this game before the 2nd game and so on others because I have people asked me that the 2nd game is way better and better music than the first including some kids that started the Mega Man series like... for reals? None of you guys played the first? It's still count as a Mega Man game and how it all started. But yeah I hate how they skipped the first game.
I was wondering for so long why this sounds so similar to something else, and then I realized why: the intro sounds like the Kirby’s adventure boss theme.
this is the end youve started the fall cant see the destiny we once saw on the edge of dawn what have you done what have you done what have you done what have you done what have you done what have you done what have you done what have you done what have you done what have you done
This theme has a sad and emotional tone to it. Like Rock had an argument with Dr. Light and Roll and wants to make up by apologizing to them. It’s weird.
Is it just me, or is there some kind of chain going on in the series? Sigma 1 in MMX clearly references this track, then Straight Ahead in MMZ4 is like an alt version of the latter and then Snake Eyes in MMZX does the same to it.
Kirby: The protagonist of every mega Kirby game Angel: Kirby’s little sister Tuff: A member of Kirbys crew he helps by making Robot master Data Marx: kirbys assistant he helps by giving a Kirby a gift Shadow Kirby: kirbys round brother he is the alternate of Kirby only with Bright Eyes Meta-night: The creator of Kirby Angel tuff Marx and shadow Kirby Meta-knights robots: The helpers of Kirby they give a Kirby a present while Kirby has low HP King Dedede: The main antagonist of Meghan Kirby he lives in Mount Dedede Dr. Willy: The main antagonist of the mega man games his appearance was in Meghan Kirby for King D mind: A copycat of king dedede he is wearing a dark mind mask and loves in his D mind headquarters Skull castle: dr. I love how final this song feels, it gives a feeling of “now, this is it” after having beaten all of the six main stages.
There's no reason for this theme to be underrated. This describes the mood of stopping a mad scientist from taking over the world.

I agree with these comments - It's a great song! I feel that it pairs very well with the grass that you see in the first section of Wily 1.
