- The 90s had to be one of the best decades for video games. So many previously existing franchises had their best games ever made within this period and so many new iconic series were created here too.
So to celebrate everything this decade gave us, we've created a list of the top 10 best games released in the 90s. Let us know if you agree or disagree with any of our picks and tell us your choices too!

Trying to narrow a list like this to 10 is bound to disappoint. Youd need like 40-50

Wow, I bet this list was not easy to make.
But I do agree with a lot of things here. The sound effects of Resident Evil 2 were incredible back in the day. So creepy.
And glad you brought up the movement from Super Mario 64. Going from Mario World to that really blew my mind.
I'm not familiar with all games from the 90s but the ones that were personally my favourites include:
- Resident Evil
- Goldeneye
- Donkey Kong Country
- Magicland Dizzy
- Ocarina of Time
- Championship Manager
- Worms
- Mortal Kombat 2
Very tough coming up with this list because there was so many excellent games released in the 90’s
My top 10 1990's games
1. Sonic 3 & Knuckles
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Symphony of the Night
4. Diddy's Kong Quest
5. Ocarina of Time
6. Turtles in Time
7. Crusader of Centy
8. A Link to the Past
9. Shinobi III
10. Mega Man X4
Conker: Bad Fur Day for me. And Maybe some Metal Slug and Street Fighter.
This video is for top ten 1990's games. Bad Fur Day was released in 2001.

No Crash Bandicoot and Silent Hill?
My favourite 90s games in no particular order.
1. Lords of the realm 2
2. Heroes of might and magic 3
3. Zelda ocarina of time
4. Fallout 2
5. KKND2 krossfire
6. Total Annihilation
7. Super bomberman
8. Mortal Kombat 4
9. Wrestlemania 2000 (released in 99)
10. Super Mario 64
3 of these games I still play TA, HOMM3 and lords.
Megaman x tekken 3 super mario 64 pokemon gold and silver and sonic 3&k are my favorites
all good but not mentioning Silent Hill is a crime.
The reasons you cite for loving Super Smash bros are the reasons I hate the tournament style of play
Smash bros is a party game. That makes it so approachable

Crash Team Racing sure took a lot from Diddy King Racing

Tomb raider, resident evil and twisted metal was the cream of the crop

I think it was a great game, but it took some of it's style from doom... 007 wasn't original but I always enjoyed it on N64.... He could've mentioned it but Doom was more worthy of making this list than 007.
So glad someone else loves CTR, the remake was horrific, ruined the driving feel

Bro 90s games that are more interesting are Starcraft, Diablo 1, Transport Tycoon, Monkey Island, Prince of Persia 1 and 2. I had access to Mario, Zelda and Pokemon but they never really fascinate me, they seemed games for like 5-10 years old, very boring.

Hmmm... There seems to be a fairly extreme bias in this video. 9/10 of the games are console games (and the other one, Doom, was also released on consoles). And every single one of them is an action game.
Maybe a better title would be "10 best 90s Console Action Games, plus one Pokemon game and one game that was better on PC".
Where's Wizardry? Ultima? M&M? Quake? Duke Nukem? Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc.

If you guys insist on continuing with your heavily biased, incomplete and therefore kinda bad lists then please at least name them "OUR top 10 XY games" instead of neutrally calling them just "Top 10 XY games.
There are many list type videos out there and most personal ones are clearly named as such, while others actually do some research and compile their lists based on many different factors besides their personal preferences, which gives them a certain degree of objectivity and therefore the right to generally call them "Top XY games".
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee should have been on the list :/

ah.. okay I just realized "Video Games" are not PC or Amiga games.. then this makes sense.. otherwise it would be a huge hit & miss ... The Secret of Monkey Island, Civilization, Command & Conquer etc smoke almost all of these games... except Mario 64
