Freakin' amazing!!! I'd be having a cardiac seeing all these at once! "Nice catch" barely does it justice. Soooo - ya gonna go back??? . . . breathless in Phoenix
Oh yeah, I'll be going back at some point. Been there plenty before, just never managed to get that many at one time. If you and Vinny ever make it up here, that's one place we'll have to take you too. Breathe in, breathe out...
Astonishing ! Wonderful ! Magic ! I have never seen so many freight trains crossing together on three tracks' levels ! In France two levels only in LYON ; but the trains are made of .... 40 bogies wagons ! Thanks so much for this scene! From Normandy , Patrice
Very Great Catch! 3/4th of them are either Ballast or Coal trains and also 3/4th BNSF trains. The closest I got to catching something like this is when I caught two UP intermodals at Haggin Junction going over and under at haggin junction but thats still har from this type of catch.
One hell of a picture. You should take a picture or pause the video where the bnsf engines & up engines from the 3rd and 4th trains are present and submit it for like a calendar pa something. This must be put to use greater then a YT video!
Holy cow! You practically had five trains in one shot, (OK two of them had just passed out of sight but still) Wow. I can only imagine how neat that's gotta be in person. That RWSX coal train is one of the Scherer trains that BNSF hands off to NS in Memphis, runs to the Robert W. Scherer power plant in Juliette GA (south of Atlanta).Seems most of the BNSF coals shown in your vids from here are either RWSX or JHMX (those trains run on the BNSF Birmingham sub from Memphis - B'ham to the Plant Miller power plant), makes sense tho as NS runs 2-3 loads and as many Scherer empties by here daily and the Miller trains are about the same level of traffic.....IMO a stand alone Part 3 for the OPS would be better than a 50+ minute "3 in 1".
heh... I was thinking a bit more than "holy cow" when this was playing out in front of me :D It was VERY neat to see in person. Yeah, I didn't know much about that BNSF coal up on the high line, I've not seen it before. Threw me off as it didn't have AC power on it. Isn't often I see DC power on their coals. Appreciate the info Dan. Glad you enjoyed it!
that was an awesome rail fanning trip Jason.. love the horn on the ACe & the exec SD70M DPU... did you count the cars on the lower train...great vid.. 2 thumbs up... "any how" thanks for sharing... vinny
Thanks Vinny. Yeah those ACe horns have always been some of the neatest sounding out there and it's great seeing the Exec units out again. No I didn't count the cars, but it was a long one. I was too preoccupied with filming count :D Glad you enjoyed it.
Scott, yeah I live in one of the suburb cities about 20 miles east of KC. We get on average 4 or 5 a day. We are lucky to have KC so close. Makes railfanning a lot better.
Thanks! Yeah, first time I've seen happen in person. There's been others who've seen it happen before. But yeah, two or three at a time is pretty common, anything above that, not so much.
To get a good look at both, you'd have to get up on the bluff on the other side of this. But it's private property, so not a good idea unless you don't mind getting nailed with trespassing. Sucks.
WOW! Great video and capture of a busy hub area showing off. Out of curiosity, have you seen any BNSF MAC's leading any coal trains coming through KC? I have seen a lot more being reactivated, but they're not leading many trains except for locals in my area. I'll keep an eye out on your videos to see if any of the MAC's are coming my way or coming to you from my neck of the woods.
Thanks! Yeah, KC is a busy spot. I haven't seen many MACs at all. Though I know they've made somewhat of a comeback lately, I haven't seen or heard of any leading though there. I've also never once seen anything above an SD60M working locals here. BNSF always sticks with the older Geeps for those. But yeah if you hear of anything, let me know. Where were you from again?
***** I'm from Cody, Wy which is NW Wyoming and about 90 miles from Laurel/Billings (hub of Montana Rail link & BNSF). We've had 2 GEVO's work our local over this past 2 years. Along with a GEVO leading a track testing train about a month ago.
I've been to Wyoming but we basically stuck to the southern half where the UP main is. Interesting. Yeah, I've never seen GEVOs used on locals around here. BNSF has two large yards in the area, so a small fleet of Geeps are maintained here for that purpose.
in a day i can count up to 8 trains passing through closest downtown pittsburgh and most of them running at least 45 miles a hour, they were not going slow
Not sure to be honest. However, virtually every train UP and BNSF send through the area goes through this location... and they run a LOT of trains through the KC area.
I've been there plenty of times and I've not seen this happen. I know it does as others have the pics and videos to prove it, but it's more on the uncommon side :D
You need a drone down there sometime.... I might have to build one! I bet Rodney could print up the parts for us and I have most of the controls, just need motors, battery and blades! Oh, and a nice camera to plug onto the bottom of it. Doubt we'd see this many at once again without being down there a bunch
Well, it doesn't really have an address, we're at a grade crossing on W 25th St. If you're on Facebook, you can see a pic I posted of the area from a Google satellite map. Don't know if the link will work here, but try this: scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/15288708_1892089604410771_1853025051883589050_o.jpg?oh=a0d4e01c8da9a2260f864c13009fa819&oe=5917CBBB On the left side of the image you'll see a "Filmed here" with two dots. The dot under the word "here" is where we were at. You'll have to full screen the image so see it better.
I'll still have the three parts posted, but I just thought for those who want it all in one shot I'd also post all three in one. But yeah, I know video length can be an issue for a lot of people.
Freakin' amazing!!! I'd be having a cardiac seeing all these at once! "Nice catch" barely does it justice. Soooo - ya gonna go back???

Thanks! This location can actually handle 6 at once. So I still have some room to spare. Glad you enjoyed it!
Four units and one junk train. How lucky and incredible!
Very Great Catch! 3/4th of them are either Ballast or Coal trains and also 3/4th BNSF trains. The closest I got to catching something like this is when I caught two UP intermodals at Haggin Junction going over and under at haggin junction but thats still har from this type of catch.
Thanks! Yeah there's very few places in the world where meets like this can occur. It's one reason Kansas City is such a great place to film trains.
Jason, you are the lucky man and your job is sooooo GREAT.
Thank you for awesome railroad scene in US.
Cheer from Tokyo.
Thank you, I appreciate it. Watching all the way from Tokyo... that's awesome!
Wooooooooow! Excellent video. I'm thinking that this is the only spot that has a railway intersection that looks like a freeway intersection.
One hell of a picture. You should take a picture or pause the video where the bnsf engines & up engines from the 3rd and 4th trains are present and submit it for like a calendar pa something. This must be put to use greater then a YT video!
Great video! Pretty exciting to see them keep showing up
Been here actually went with family and they were fascinated with this spot.
Great catch!!! Five trains at once! Congratulations!
awesome catch. thanks for another great video. I always enjoy what you upload no matter how short or how long.
Thanks, appreciate it. Also glad to hear length isn't an issue, sometimes I wonder about it.
Four trains all at the same time, they didn't disappoint.
They sure didn't!
Amazing shots, you were obviously in the right place at the right time.
Yep, we were :D
You guys are spoilt for trains thanks for the clip cheers
Kansas City is one of the world's busiest rail hubs. LOTS of trains move through every day. Yes, we are spoiled here. :D
This video should be called “So Many Trains, Wow”
Wow, that looked like fireworks but with trains! Great catch! Cheers, Dan
Haha... yeah, this was a fun one. Thanks Dan!
This is an awesome vid great work Jason keep up the good work
Incredible video! Talking about a meet of epic proportions!
Thanks, and agreed!

Great shot!
Fantastic piece of video thanks for publishing
This is some fine stuff.
Quite the catch, that's something every railfan strives for
Yes it is.
you just hit the lottery, lol
This is railfan PARADISE 😀
I love the loco at 6:21
Wow just wow all those Bnsf and up in one place Wow 😳
that was an awesome rail fanning trip Jason.. love the horn on the ACe & the exec SD70M DPU... did you count the cars on the lower train...great vid.. 2 thumbs up... "any how" thanks for sharing... vinny

12:30 awwww they're kissing
Lmao
Nice video, Thanks for posting !!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it Tom!
Wow nice catch
Looks like a 1:1 scale model layout!
the best place to 'catch' this whole area is on top of the WW1 war memorial tower
In my town railfanning involves a lot of waiting since there's only one railroad.
Scott, yeah I live in one of the suburb cities about 20 miles east of KC. We get on average 4 or 5 a day. We are lucky to have KC so close. Makes railfanning a lot better.
***** The best hotspot for railfanning in Arkansas in the Union Pacific railroad yard in Little Rock.
... great BNSF video
thats was a super train meeting ... : )
Sure was.
Now that is what i'd like to call train action at it's finest :D
Yeah, I'd have to agree. That was a fun one.
Great video! I'm sure that doesn't happen very often there.
Thanks! Yeah, first time I've seen happen in person. There's been others who've seen it happen before. But yeah, two or three at a time is pretty common, anything above that, not so much.
***** I'd like to take a trip there some day and see it. Looks like there's track going every direction there.
There just about is. BN Cossing and Santa Fe Junction are a quarter mile apart and are both huge wyes with elevated tracks cris-crossing over them.
***** Is there any way of being able to see both at the same time or are they too far apart?
To get a good look at both, you'd have to get up on the bluff on the other side of this. But it's private property, so not a good idea unless you don't mind getting nailed with trespassing. Sucks.
great video what is the location?
Train heaven!!! :)
Yeah just about :D
Perfect place for a person with a hopper car obsession.
Holy Trainfest, Batman!
Pretty much!
WOW!! Nice choreography! Where is that? Thanks
KC MO
Great video!
Thanks!
Great place to view, you live near this rail yard?
Awesome video!
Thanks!

amazing, but, sorry, where is this???? A little information maybe
Info is in the description.
I can only dream of getting a catch like that!
Honestly, I never really thought I would either :D
loved it
Love it!!! ❤️
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
used to seeing that in Pittsburgh, but not as like this
Oh yeah? Cool.
in a day i can count up to 8 trains passing through closest downtown pittsburgh and most of them running at least 45 miles a hour, they were not going slow

How often does that happen?

@@RailfanJason They have virtual railfamn cams there now and can see 3 ways daily and 4 ways once a week..
2:40 BNSF 9058 has a nice horn
Oh wow cool video trains just coming out nowhere nice

Oh, and a nice camera to plug onto the bottom of it. Doubt we'd see this many at once again without being down there a bunch
Oh yeah, a drone would make an awesome video, but I don't know how legal it would be to fly one over this area :D
Hi Please can you tell me the address of this location as I plan to visit Kansas City the 1st week in March 2017. thanks wayne
Well, it doesn't really have an address, we're at a grade crossing on W 25th St. If you're on Facebook, you can see a pic I posted of the area from a Google satellite map. Don't know if the link will work here, but try this:

On the left side of the image you'll see a "Filmed here" with two dots. The dot under the word "here" is where we were at. You'll have to full screen the image so see it better.
It's just west of downtown KC in the West Bottoms. Cool area.
a train on every track!
yoooo this is niceee bro
love it, peed my pants. where was this filmed?
I'm guessing train city?
Basically. Kansas City has lots, and lots, and lots of trains.
Does it ever.
Holy sheet!
Nice video, thumb up
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Holy crap!!
That's what I was thinking...
Awesome!!!
I’ve been to Kansas City before!
Where is this located
It says that at the beginning of the video. BN Crossing in Kansas City. It's right next to Santa Fe Junction.
Railfan Jason I've never seen it from this angle before. The last time I saw it was from a hill above Santa Fe Junction. Great video all the same.
Geeze, I wish I was there!
hah... yes, it was amazing!
Great catch?
that is alot of trains
Yes it is. :D
That would be a nice place to model
Yes, it would be.
Wow
cooool
Lucky you
P.S. I prefer short vids over long - like 20 to 30 mins max b/c I have to watch longer ones in pieces anyway. (Short attention span. LOL)
I'll still have the three parts posted, but I just thought for those who want it all in one shot I'd also post all three in one. But yeah, I know video length can be an issue for a lot of people.
I will bet it felt like heaven to you.
Just a little. :D
Doesn't get any better then that, lonnnngerrrr coal train my goodness
haha... Thanks Gary. Yeah, agred, hard to top this. :D
Long ass trains tho
this place Phoenix arizona
Phoenix, AZ? No, Kansas City, MO.
Railfan Jason 👍 👍
Some serious rail porn here.
haha... yes. Pretty much.
