3 Trains Meet At Interlocking Cross Overs!

- Local freight train shunting and switching had to wait for 2 heavy freight trains. Union Pacific Railroad locomotive was single handedly pulling a long unit train of hopper cars. CSX locomotives were pulling the second train which had double stack intermodal containers. These are Hamilton Ohio trains on shared trackage. I sped the film up since the trains were so long. Norfolk Southern and Amtrak also use these railtracks. I thought the local switcher was waiting for one train but there was a second train right behind it heading north on track one. I filmed them crossing over the connecting track to track two. This is Walnut street just east of Martin Luther King Blvd in Hamilton, Ohio. Hamilton is just north of Cincinnati. Filmed August 23, 2018. Thanks for watching! Please comment, rate and SUBSCRIBE TO JAWTOOTH!!

Jaw Tooth ok
Mr. Jawtooth
Really enjoy your videos and your enthusiasm. I grew up in NE NY State and had the NYC, CN and D&H tracks through our village. always been both fascinated and impressed with our rail system. Through your videos I have experienced a renewed interest in rail traffic. It's encouraging to see the resurgence of commercial rail traffic throughout the USA. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your videos even those that I've seen before. God Bless.
Major Bill Cosgrove Thank you! I appreciate that. I have tons of more videos to post.
Wow, Excellent video JT!!!
Awesome catches Jawtooth!!!!😁
Super Train CSX 🚂🚂💯👏👏👍😍
Live action, Whooo! More action commin' at you, Whooo! Are you related to Rick Flair, Whooo?
goddamn you :)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi there. Dear friend, Mr.Brian. How have you been?
We have started the new week with your release video. Students who tell the end of the summer's long vacation also have a whole nostalgia. I am sincerely grateful that this wonderful train video provided refresh time to patients and staff. I pray that this summer's day has many good memories. See you soon.
From Yokosuka city in Japan. Your friend:-)Sawa.
UP (Union Pacific) bought SP (Southern Pacific).
I was so used to see the black SP locomotives. Then I had get used to seeing the yellow UP locomotives.
I have some UP videos to post from Utah that I filmed
Barriers r automatic or manually operating?
automatic
Wow good catch

Cool!
CSX 7801 has a K5H
Put some more WOOOOOOOOOOO’s in.........there wasn’t enough 😎
I can’t believe they used just 1 engine. I guess you can do that with level terrain and empties. Fascinating.
Can I make a suggestion go to Fort Madison Iowa you'll see plenty of trains there guaranteed you'll have your hands full and there's a place that you can stay at red cross the street from the railroad tracks your check it out you will like it guaranteed
One time I caught a CSX one engine train was exactly 100 cars

@MASON WOLFE sure thx
@MASON WOLFE yep!
Kind of a traffic jam there, nice video
Wide World of Trains nice hat. ❤️ your channel
is it me or do the locos on the second trackswitcher train seem poorly maintained? compared to teh one that pulled in the other direction...
Jaw tooth cool when train crosses from track 1 too 2 ❤
You keep right on making videos with your cameo appearances and narration. It's part of your charm, and often helpful as well, to set the context.
Archibald Mirenopteryx Thanks and merry Christmas!

😅.0😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Jaw tooth man you like speed thing up
The video of the second train taken from the opposite side of the tracks was definitely a more pleasing visual. There were too many obstructions in the way while you were videoing the first train by, you couldn't see the interesting visual of the locomotive and cars moving through the switch.
Woo-Woo!
I like train videos on RUclips jawtooth dpu alright 👍
I enjoy your videos and commentary. Thanks for speeding things up a bit; I find five minutes of a whole train tedious at best especially if it's a unit train.
Hi jaw tooth what's up nice train I always loved trains for a long time Jack 👽👽🌟
Same here!
@@JawTooth I love all your video of trains Jack 👽👽🌟
you get a thumbsup once you stop the annoying whoooo!
@@johnbrown-rm8kc Or watching too many Ric Flair interviews LOL :)
Well that’s rude
My city Hamilton Ohio. Cross those tracks many of times. Many derailments have happened right there over the years
nice 1
Hey bud yr train set is unreal , I just love how detailed it is , it looks so real , and how u film it makes it look so life size , I used to do something similar when I went to the beach I would get someone to take my picture and it look like I was holding the sun 🌞 in my hand .
7:50 Surprised to see even an intermodal train going that speed through a switch, especially on a train meet.
Awesome 👌I loved your "live action video" especially watching the 3 trains crossing at the same tracks.
Thank you very much!
The one thing I wish could have been added to the video was the signal aspects (which of course would have been hard to film in the sunlight). The bottom/inferior route ones were the really interesting ones - they had four aspects, the usual three (stop, approach, clear) and a white restricting aspect as well. I don't see that very often! I'm assuming that the middle head is the one for the main crossover (two-aspect on right, dummy on left) and the bottom head is for the SECOND crossover - a siding or short line? That would explain the extra restricting aspect!
CSX implements speed signaling. The signal aspects themselves determine the maximum authorized speed for a train making a diverging movement. They do not indicate a physical path the train is to take, as route signaling is wont to do. You can compare speed and route (BNSF, UPRR) signaling: signals.jovet.net/rules/index.html
The turnouts appear to be rated for Slow speed, which means diverging aspects only show up on the bottom-most head. The second lamp on the middle head of the right-hand signal 0:42 could be yellow or green for use with some kind of "distant" aspect with the top head. The signal could show _Advance Approach_ (Y/Y/R) or _Approach Limited_ (Y/fG/R) or _Approach Medium (Y/G/R). It is not likely to be used for diverging movements at this location unless a permanent _Medium Approach_ (R/Y/R) would be called for, which would be for some not-thru line and so is not common; it would also be really unusual to setup crossovers for Medium speed on one track and Slow speed on the other.
4-light signal heads are not rare on modern CSX-signaled lines. CSX likes to supply at least one lunar-white lamp to allow for call-on _Restricting_ indications.
11:25 Now we see why the other train was scheduled to wait on the first two.
I’ve been retired for 8 years but if I remember right it actually went from track 2 to 1
Question..Had.both trains ( the Hopper haul and the Stack ) both have a " flashing approach" caution signal for the switch cross over. Always want to see the signal readings. No body does it much. Only Danny Harmon from Distant signal. Shows those aspects..DO IT Jaw Tooth.
Is the speed limit 20 MPH switching tracks?
What you do is pretty cool. Thanks for uploading
Suprised how many vehicles drive thru before bars are all they way up and lights quite flashing. Ticket time.
Seriously??? This is so beyond lame & poor dispatching! That's not even a real interlocking...get some real shots at a passenger terminal during a rush hour!
How much does it cost to wash the engines? Manpower, recycled water, detergent, time off, surface repair work, administrative costs, or as we used to say in the US Navy, “to hell with the mission, clean the position.”
Please, leave that annoying commentator out of your clips!! We all have eyes and can see what's happening!!!
Type in Amtrak Hamilton Ohio, and check out my video. What do you think? Was able to get a good video of the Cardinal 50 after work.
I'm glad it's not up to me to keep track of those trains.
Jawtooth, just a constructive comment from the viewers perspective, it would have made for more slightly interesting viewing if you had filmed the 2nd train actually going through the turnouts to change tracks (even if only capturing this mid-train) rather than us seeing the whole train go by on the same track ( I did note that you caught the very end of the train you showed going through the switches). Just something to bear in mind for future filming. :)
Basically I enjoy your train videos, but why in the world do you bother with filming the whole damn train. Stop and restart, the train just going by is quite boring. Twice you even mentioned how long the trains were, as though we didn't already sit through both of them.
4:51 Okay Everyone Turns Out they got a Second Train to waiting for so we got another Train Coming here Same Track on Track 2 crossed over to Track 1
I think CSX ought to make all their train drivers carry a lunch box full of quarters so when they see a quarter car wash they can stop and wash them nasty choo choos ...lol
How do you even figure this stuff out? Is it like airplanes in which each train number has a designated route they travel back and forth on?
I remember when I was little, I loved trains so much that when I saw a rail cars sitting on a siding, I told my mom, “I need to go to the bathroom” but I didn’t. Instead I climbed aboard one of the rail cars and started to act like a conductor. It was fun though, until I got caught by the csx conductor.
Wait its actually bad if people don't wait for the crossing gates to open when the train is over because what if the train is coming back to switch tracks
This crossing was not Pleasant Avenue, But the crossing in the foreground is.
why do you get so close to the trains for? You know that is dangerous don't you? Just seems wrong of you to complain about other people stopping to close to trains and look what you are doing.

Why do your videos show the whole train for 95% of the video, and little time on the engine. So much too see on those big diesels.
Are interlock crossovers not a common event ?
Also do all American freight trains have more than a 100 cars and move that damn slow ?
JawTooth I Just Love Watching Your Video's You make Them SO Intertaining and Funny Plus Your Video's are Awesome to watch Keep UP the Good Video's and Thank You again for Awesome Video's.
What a coincidence! Stand by the track and a train passes by. Who'd have believed it?
@Jaw Tooth how come at some crossing gates when the red lights come on there is a set that flash towards cars and sometime there is also a set that is aimed toward the on coming train that flashes too? (I hope that question makes sense) Thanks
Ok misleading Title......I was looking for a 3 Train Meet, but instead got 3 separate trains.......So spoiled by Drone footage these days too, reg cams just don't cut it, lol.
You sure do get some interesting stuff Jaw Tooth greetings from West Australia
Nice videos Son! What’s your theme music song? Love it!
I know exactly where that intersection is. Pleasant Avenue.
listen to that SD70M horn sounds ike horn from other country lol
Man that was a seriously long train!
David Burland that’s what she said
Back in the ancient world of railroading and before roller bearings were the norm and not the exception, trains were noisy as hell. Today they are almost silent, although occasionally you get the rolling stock with a 'flat' wheel thumping.
Hi Jaw Tooth, Another interesting Video from your good self, in the USA you use different ways describe the railway infrastructure, for instance, track 1 & 2 etc would be the up or down line in the UK and for multiple tracks we would describe them as "the up main or down main, up slow and down slow and up loop or down loop, dwarf signals here are called Ground signals or duties, or even "dollies, and the signalling system works in a completely different way to the USA, we now have fewer Signal Boxes here (Switch Towers) as they are all being replaced with ROC's or Railway Operating Centres, most dealing with 100's of trians an hour! Keep up the great work, if you ever come over to England I could probably arrange a visit to a ROC.
On a 2 train the light went on then off
On a first train did you speed up to 2x
So why two train get longer than the third train get Short
There is no excitment in this video. Just trains moving only.. Stop the Whoo
What is the Blue Square on the crossing gate by the red lights?
very nice video very fast moving trains going and coming . whoooooooooooo do more videos thank u.
Hmm.... the feet thing gets me.... yeah, I know 1,760 yards (5,280 ft) is a mile but the number of cars is easier for my brain to deal with... love your vids..!!
Love, Light and Peace from the UK 👍
Thank you Alec! One of these days I am going to film in the UK. My wife filmed a couple trains in Spain
I say Wooo too. Nice graffiti on some of them too. What's wrong with us? I like to video trains too. Thanks for sharing.
Long trains.. When I retired they were running 10k ft trains. Now they run 18k ft trains and working to run 24k ft trains. Their holdup are the refueling points that would prevent the unnecessary blocking of streets and highways but they’re under construction. (BNSF Eng, Retired)
Awesome and thanks for commenting! I saw a 12,700 ft train today with a DPU on NS
Boah, wie langweilig. Es fahren hintereinander über einen Bahnübergang.
Das passiert tausendfach auf der Welt.
one of yours one of my favorites happy thanksgiving
Note at 5.43 the condition of the paint livery condition of loco 9017 (YN2 scheme) compared to the second loco in consist with the much newer/more recent rolling boxcar scheme. The lead loco in the much older paint is generally wearing better (with a few rust spots) and in better condition than the newer! Perhaps 9017 has been in storage for many years away from harsh conditions?
on second thoughts, perhaps the second unit is just plain dirty ..
Why don't you say Hamilton Ohio and woo another 500 times🤣
This is probably the biggest thing to happen in Hamilton since Lee surrendered to Grant.😎
So that's what you people in Hamilton do on a Saturday night.🤣😂😃
I don't live in Hamiltucky. No way! The only thing that city has going for it is the trains
You are way to fuckin excited about this.
Excellent video. From UK watcher
Here in Oregon Union Pacific trains run up and down the I-5 corridor with the containers, 2 stacks high and even with the UP running about a train at least 2 to 3 trains an hour at 100 to 125 cars trains! the freeways are jammed with trucks from Seattle and LA, San Francisco. the poor truck drivers! the state cops are looking for any little thing wrong so they can write them up! my dad was a truck driver and those tickets are not cheap! keep up the good work Jaw Tooth I know this video is last years but I like watching your vid`s over and over so get up get off that chair and make some more live-action video`s! have a good one!
Thanks for watching! I have tons of videos to post that I have never edited. I video more than I can produce. Lol. I have some steam train videos that I never posted that I am planning on putting up since I had someone request more steam
Love it "B", somewhere along those tracks is the old Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton shops where my Dad worked until 1960, so I dont recall seeing these tracks as I was about 9 when we moved. But in the background see some of downtown which I do recall. My life then was pretty well confined to our neighborhood out Main St. But thanks for another great Video.
Your video title says "3 Trains Meet At Interlocking Cross Overs" and yet all you showed was the trains crossing the road??? Why didn't you show the cross overs?
Because I didn't want to. Go watch PewDiePie
excellent! Nothing like some live action.
Do they have a train crew in the engines in the middle or back
3 years ago, you sped the trains up. Now, you complain they're going too fast! ,LOL
Yes, Lol
hey one, two, three I wasn't counting! 5:40! Any REAL Gambler Would Play These Numbers Tonight!!! They've Got Our Computer Screens There Live Right Now On Too! JESUS!
ruclips.net/video/1wNU4fEqxpg/видео.html was it slow?
What with the wooooo.
What's an interlocking crossover? I don't know the terminology for trains I don't know what they're talking about when they say these things is there someplace that I can find this stuff I'd like to know when I look at these videos (this train sounded as smooth as silk sometimes the trains are clanky but this one wasn't it was like silk).
In railway signalling, an interlocking is an arrangement of signal apparatus that prevents conflicting movements through an arrangement of tracks such as junctions or crossings. The signalling appliances and tracks are sometimes collectively referred to as an interlocking plant. An interlocking is designed so that it is impossible to display a signal to proceed unless the route to be used is proven safe. You can Google "railroad jargon" and find more terms and phrases.
Fools with rattle cans need to be tied to the rail cars that they defile. When the paint wears off, then they get off.
You have strong feelings on the subject
@@MrFrinZy thats an understatement
Absolutely
It makes them look nice I don't know what youre talking about.
Those trains are so so long..VK6GIA
Good equipment...Good tracks...
Interesting interlocking intersection, say that 3 times fast... great vid !! Woooo 👍
Thanks 👍
