Look at you running through the gears! You'll get the hang of it. Helps if you can drive something smaller with a manual transmission. It's just hand-eye coordination. So, are you primarily working at the same farm now? Or is that just somewhere you've been before? I think it's awesome that you are sucking up all this knowledge, and I hope others in your generation are watching and picking up the torch. You're going to accomplish great things, Emma. Keep up the hard work and be safe!

I showed you a picture of my truck and you said that it was on your bucket list to come to Canada , I hope that you come and I am from Ontario Canada near Toronto. I would love to let you drive my superbgrain trains . You are doing a fantastic job of making videos of what you are doing. Keep up the great work Emma . Dave

When you are stopping do not take the transmission out of gear until you are not moving. Then you will be able to grab a lower gear without the grind. Thanks for farming. Videos are good entertainment.

That a cool old cat tractor, one of the first ones. I would have though that the new auger would have been tested at the dealer, if they had, the lines would have been full of oil. Always enjoy your videos.

You have the right idea. When your ready to shift before you let off the pedal put pressure on it so it slides out easier. Also unloaded use second gear. That first gear is to low you'll always fight it. Also no one does it anymore but when I taught people I taught double clutching. Just keeps you from missing gears to many times

Keep your seat closer to the front, as you learn and it won’t take long seat arrangements could be the most important. You have air ride axles air ride cab and seat to much air underneath your ass and the only thing you can control is your seat and that will help you control the truck. Hang in there you can do it. I’ve been a car hauler since 1971 . God bless.

..... good on you for getting the truck driving under your belt .... always a challenge at slow speed especially at slow speed and turning .. when turning the binding of the rubber of the drivers on the road will slow you right promptly and even more so when loaded and in dirt .... you are doing well .... had never thought about how those bags were emptied .... the vac seems like a good idea. The vac just needs to be bigger to handle larger volume into a cyclone to separate the air from the product then either out the bottom of the cyclone into the truck or an auger ... just that bit of equip that broke doing the job, just looked like too many moving parts ...... remember, not in the industry and what I saw in video prompted these thoughts re emptying bags .... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans

Hello, just a little advice, when you are going to put the first gear, it is better to put it in reverse and after the reverse comes in, take it out and put it in the first gear, just that, luck...

Hi Emma. Once you learn how to drive truck it opens up all kinds of options and opportunities. Like the old saying the more you know the more you go. Great video. Are you going to the Farm Progress show in Decatur Illinois this year or are you still harvesting.

Run them R's up every time.
Don't sweat down shifting. Using your breaks,
and your Jake, are always cheaper then replacing a clutch.
Biggest thing is using your mirrors. Back and forth, like a Tennis Game.
    You'll do fine.

from an old truck driver.rev up to between 1800 and 2000 RPMS.THE DROP TO between 1600 and 1800 then you should not grind so much.all trucks do have a differant rpm need but this will give you a base to go from.

Yeah, it's definitely okay not to be very good right away. Back when I started trucking for a living, I had the advantage of driving stick my entire life already, plus some experience driving trucks with heavy unsynchronized transmissions on farms and ranches. And even then, it still took some getting used to. Especially driving trucks with different transmissions that I didn't have a lot of experience with. A 9-speed and a super-13 and a 21-speed are all completely different, and require a different technique. As a trainer, I had plenty of guys fresh out CDL school who had a learned on a different tranny, with limited experience only on that one particular tranny, and were basically starting from scratch again, grinding gears and all. But you know what they say, "If ya can't find 'em, grind 'em!" Oh, and last but not least, if you've been doing it awhile, old school style, and you are used to floating the gears instead of clutching, and you have to do it the "proper official" way to pass your evaluation for a new company, that can be a real beast.
