I just got my hands on several testers… I think I figured out where this one SHINES and EXCELS…. hot weather.! I wore it around for a day indoors. The outside temps were high 50s at the time… The next day the temps shot up to mid 80s and I walked outside with it on… it went from cloying to intoxicating. I’d say it’s a great warm weather Elixir. A bit overpriced. The same price for 3.4 ounces would be a good value.
I bought it, it smells nice. It's funny because I liked EDP version more, BUT the problem was that it remains me of someone!!!!! Thats why I couldn't wear it. However, Elixir is a bit different and still kind of similar to EDP like you said and it still smells great.
Monika, please could you do a review of Zaras fragrances and compare them to the fragrances they are duping? I'm curious to see which ones are your favourite. I just bought Still Leather (Seems to be dupe of TF Ombre Leather) and I'm in love
2 sprays of ysl elixir & a 30min dry down is worth the price. Throughout the day it rolls off of my shoulders and pulls people in like a lasso from the gods!
For the pricepoint or comparing it to the other elixirs in the market, Sauvage, PR1M, and Le Male, this one sucks. Haha. The tweaks of refinement and classiness was already done in the Le Parfum which is still my top Y perfume. This smells like a straight up "soapier lavender Y EDP".
Something not spoken about enough is how these fragrance companies keep dropping the quality of their fragrances yet the price go's up,like ysl edp used to be a 10hr fragrance now its like 2hrs ,and its the same for many others,it keeps changing
They should talk about it but the thing is they have the bottles from years agon when the fragrances were good, they dont get the performance of these days

There are some fragrances that these RUclipsrs keep talking about, but I know I would not get today what they have. YSL MYSLF lasts all day even though I go nose blind to it. Something in the opening is off for sure, can’t really put my finger on it. Kind of smells sour, like the fragrance has gone bad. Once it settles it’s ok, but for the price it’s a complete joke. Just get any other fragrance in the line for literally half the price.
Swimming pool / chlorine and cheap incense smoker opening with a mish-mash of tropical fruit punch in the back and hints of toothpaste. The late drydown is really kind of cool on its own, but unfortunately the Y EDP is still much better all around, YSL missed a big opportunity with this one, thanks for your take!
I'm yet to see any reviewer that is impressed with this fragrance. Look like YSL just jumped on the Elixir bandwagon and released a half cooked version that is more expensive.
Hey Monika - PLEASE do a video on your Women’s channel of Female equivalents of male fragrances… nobody has done one… my wife loves my colognes but refuses to buy “men’s” branded fragrances for herself… PLEASE tackle a video where you take a masculine fragrance and find its feminine counterpart! 🙏 PS… she adores my Armani Code Parfum. So a fun video would to find feminine equivalents.
To me, I get the oud. It's the pungent part of the scent that throws it off for me. I would put this scent last out of all the Ys. It's still decent, but Y epd is KING!
The only disapointment is the performance, how do clones of dior sauvage elixir last longer than an ysl elixir, matter of fact how do normal freshies like dylan blue last longer. The scent its allright, its like 6.5/10 rightnow with the potential of getting higher in the future with multiple wearings. Also all of these opinions come from someone who caught elixir at around 95$, because if it were 180$ there be no way in hell id go for it at that price.
Totally agree I brought a clone of DHI and I was wow, so I got the original too, what a disappointing the clone has more irris in it which was the main selling point of DHI, the clone lasts all day and projects ( room filer) original becomes skin scent after 20 mins. 😂, never buying a the original again I could have brought 4 bottles of clones. Long live middle eastern perfume houses 😂
Yeesss Moni same!!! smells like high conentrated chlorine filled swimming pool/hot tub😵😂😂😂 can't get away and I don't see any similarity to the Y's😮 I randomly sampled it at the mall a couple of days ago and hell no way😵 I didn't bother to spray it on skin because on the test strip immediatly to this day it smells very harsh, like pure cold chlorine with a neutral clean soap. It not as nose burning as it was til yesterday, the smoothed but the awkward chemical smell still remains. I don't know Oud, could it be Oud with the all aromatics to make a steril fresh darkness. I think YSL miscalculated with this fragrance and I highly question if they actually tried it before they released it. I'm surprised people in the states seem to enjoy it but on the other hand often their tab water is mixed with chlorine especially in hotels so might be used to it way more.

I will no longer buy French perfumes most of the clones from middle eastern houses perform better then the originals I own and cost less then quarter of the originals. They keep watering them down.

Try this on paper strip and wait for the drydown. You will pick up the oud note. It is interesting but on skin came up differently.
This is true. I bought it because beeing a Y fan. Discount price 85euros. The dry down is woody, very muscular.

Sampled this yesterday and the scent is great, but for an elixir, the performance is not the best. Therefore the price is not warranted. Sadly.
I associate the swimming pool aspect to a fresh clean linen , or like hotel pool side towels that have been cleaned to the max. Ulta fresh/Ultra clean
