    Really great audio today, whatever this setup was, keep it!

      The setup was recording at home again on the weekend rather than wherever else whenever I could, my output might decrease this way but quality over quantity is best I think, glad you like it!

    Again a really cool Showcase of Mono white.
    Stone of Erech being an absolute MVP as always by just sitting there on the table completely unambiguous, so that your Scam opponents forget about it. XD
    I am curious whether Scam will start playing a single mountain sometime.
    Knowing every Decks Basic Land distribution is also such good Knowledge to have.
    (Scam playing 3 swamps, GTron usually 3 Forests, Boros Burn 3 Mountains or 2 if they are greedy and so on)

      Hopefully they don't because it makes it much easier for us if they keep their basic land count low! Glad you liked the video!

    Thanks for the video! 🙂
    I really appreciate all your mono-colored content and often use it as reference (I'm maintaining a battlecube of decks in paper and it's nice to extend it with some affordable options).
    Any thoughts on Progenitor Exarch? I tried it in mono-W for the memes at first, but it was a surprisingly efficient grindy element. Synergizing well with Wrath is nice too.

      Thanks for the kind words, and Exarch looks very interesting, actually does seem very value positive and even a bit aggressive potentially, I might try it sometime, thanks for sharing!

    I've been running a mono white restoration build for a few months now with urza's saga as the main closer.
    The restoration/saga loops is one of the most fun things you can do in modern.

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  Год назад +2

      I tried Saga for awhile but my main issue was always that I felt I became way more vulnerable to blood moon, but it is a powerful card you can't go wrong with at the same time!

    • @lugvantrug5967
      @lugvantrug5967 Год назад +1

      Maybe with Get lost Main as additional removal for Blood Moon (and even opposing Sagas) it could be better.

    • @lugvantrug5967
      @lugvantrug5967 Год назад +1

      Somebody on the new Green Video mentioned Hex Parasite, which could work well with Ranger,(being tutorable) Sagas and Tomes (resetting them) Blast Zone (to kill Tokens) and vs Planeswalkers.
      A Ranger Restoration Urzas Saga Build could maybe have Legs, the only part that would have to go in my opinion would be the Fields.
      Maybe in an Urzas Saga shell, Volatile Fault could be better.
      Without Fields you could also be a bit lower on Basics. So maybe there is more Space for other Tech Lands like Echoing Deeps or Sunken Citadel or even Something like Mistveil Plains (could be good if you had a Restoration Loop Going, where you search for the same Plains over and over and discard it every 2nd Turn)

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  Год назад

      @@lugvantrug5967 I'm currently trying to test how good Sunken Citadel is in all of my decks, it's possible some time after that I might revisit Urza's Saga, but I do stand by my assessment that ironically Saga is typically at its best in Mono Red because the best hate against it (Blood Moon) has the most minimal splash damage against Mono Red, but that doesn't mean especially in certain metas, it might be a very powerful option in other colors as well.
      Also yes I have started testing Get Lost, and so far, I think the map tokens aren't too backbreaking and the flexibility and relatively low cost are very nice. It could become a staple going forward, but also it's the type of card that could get powercrept on pretty soon since Get Lost is kind of already a powercrept Fateful Absence itself (I think a clue token is 10 times worse for the caster than two map tokens at least so far).
      Also I might end up splitting the deck into Ranger of Eos Builds and Restoration of Eiganjo builds, because it's just kind of hard to play both packages in the same deck, but they could both be very powerful alternative versions that could have their time and place depending on the meta.

    Hey Matt!! I hope you’ve been well-thanks for the video! I have a question about Mono-Red: which do you think you’d go with in the blind between Cleansing Wildfire or Bonecrusher Giant? Also, do you ever find 4 Den of the Bugbear to be too many? I’ve been running a 2-2 split of Dens and Shatterskull Smashing, but wanted your opinion. Thanks again!! :)

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  Год назад +1

      Hard to say in the current meta, which is still all over the place because of the new set, but I kind of lean toward Cleansing Wildfire at the moment. Also 4 Bugbears has never been a problem for me, and I've started to cut Shatterskull Smashing. Bugbear comes into play untapped on the two turns that matter the most, and doesn't deal us damage, and is a very powerful man land. I think it's one of the main draws of playing Mono Red Midrange to be honest (yes I'm inclined to think Bug Bear is better than Valakut). Thanks a lot for your comment and glad you like the deck!

      Thanks! Also yea possibly but I just don't want to risk the tickets on it yet when it's going for so high on mtgo. Eventually even if it doesn't drop though I'll probably try it at some point.

    Hi! Great video! I wanted to try the SunkenCitadel in this version too, but I wanted to keep both Castle Ardenvale and the Blast Zone. Do you think it's possible to do a 2/2 split (or some other kind of split) or is it better to just abandon one of the two?

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  Год назад +1

      My initial thought is to move blast zone to the SB, but it's possible Castle isn't as necessary as I thought before, we'll just have to see!

    I haven't finished the video but I am in the process of buying the deck in paper (thank you again for introducing this budget deck to me). How do you feel about something like leyline of sanctity? I am in the process of purchasing the deck in paper and decided to pick up 4x Leyline of Sanctity. I don't have a lot of graveyard or mill in my meta so I took out Emrakul and some of the relics for 3 copies in the sideboard. Haven't tried them in paper yet but I think it would definitely help the budget version in the burn matchup (where we don't have solitude's lifelink) and it would really help the valakut matchup.

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  Год назад +1

      I think Leyline is very respectable. But lately I've also found Blossoming Calm to be very useful. Hope you like the deck!

    Mono white is awesome as usual. The few times ive encountered scapeshift it was always a wash, i just dodge the matchup because it isnt a common deck.

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  Год назад

      Yea Scapeshift is always a bane for midrange decks I'd assume because they can win at any moment with one topdeck. It's not even a real multi card combo so it's also hard to disrupt.

      @@JamiePatten-e3o I run surge of salvation out the side, I have used BC in the past though. It's good for getting them on scapeshifts but still can't beat a grindy dryad in my experience unless you have enough interaction in hand.
