As someone that uses Hemi Jack semi-unironically, here some other sad facts: - While the sheep is out it reduces tension gain by -80% (same penalty as Roman Canceling), essentially making it cost 4 tension bars since during this time we could have generated extra tension - We can use throw into the sheep in the corner, but doing so won't stun the opponent due to scaling - Outside 1H, Task C, Corner 5D and Blitz Attack, Bedman has no moves to launch the other player into the sheep, all of them being slow and reactable - Sheep into Instant Kill is never a true combo (without IK conditions), even with 4 tension bars 5D + Task A' setups in the corner, but specially on midscreen because it puts Bedman far away from the stunned opponent - In Rev 2.0 it could hit people in the ground, but this was nerfed because of the new 6H keeping people in blockstun too long, giving Bedman a reliable unblockable like Johnny and Elphelt Hemi Jack is the most expansive taunt in the game and I love it
Other tidbits of useful information: You're in CH stun for the ENTIRE duration of the super's startup and fully vulnerable during the superflash. Almost every character can, on reaction to this, run up to you from basically full screen and take a turn. The startup is 200f (Including superflash). TWO HUNDRED. That's how long you have to approach and get his ass. Addition to Bedman's lack of launchers: Bedman's launchers are very hard to hit and require close proximity or specific counterhits - against an opponent that plays it slow and stable (basically every decent player) it is nigh impossible to hit this (especially from neutral). Do keep in mind that Bedman 6P is also prone to trading. This super could be better if Bedman had decent lockdown in his pressure since jumping out is powerful against him, but Bedman's pressure is naturally riddled with gaps. This makes true blockstrings with only limited answers like some other setplay characters wishful thinking for the Bedman player.
Reading these comments is immaculating as a man and as a fellow fighting game enjoyer. There's no way in hell I'd be able to keep all this in my head and react accurately in any given moment. Then thinking it would be very helpful to know these write-ups on other characters so I can develop counter play just further moves the goal post. Now if you'll excuse me, there is a corner that's begging for some sulking.
@@YukonJack You get this type of knowledge overtime just from playing. I usually learn a combo and just start playing, going to training/resources when I hit a wall. Couple months later I can write a thesis paper on my character's kit. When I see Bedman do this move all I think in the moment is: keep moving, hit sheep safely or hit Bedman.

@@polar6066 Correct, people usually placed him near the bottom or middle of top tier, some referred to him as "the most honest broken character". Now in rev2 he's kinda miserable lol. For a good bit of Xrd Sign people hilariously didn't recognize how good he was, he was a sleeper top tier 🙃
It's really powerful suppression tool especially against Potemkin. You pretty much lock him as he can't jump, if you put pressure enough and manage to air launch him, you can get instant stun as well.
I'd argue that there is one more _ABSURDLY_ niche use for Hemi Jack. If you throw it out and your opponent actually gets hit by it, then it shows that they have NO experience in the Bedman MU, allowing you to exploit that. Now, granted, there are other options to test their MU knowledge, but Hemi Jack is funnier.
if you cancel into this move on sweep it sets up for very rewarding strike/throw mix since they cant jump. Bedman does have better mix ups that cost less meter though.

The Sheep Lord is gracious of its followers and is generous enough to shield us from enemy projectiles. Non-believers can attack and knock away the Sheep. Their efforts are fruitless however, for the Sheep has no life bar and is almighty. The Sheep Lord has a timer before he gives up chase in frustration. As a worshiper, it is your duty to present our Sheep Lord with a sacrifice as swiftly as possible. Do not make our God wait. The sheep does not believe in damage, and thus only does 10 damage. However, the true wisdom of our God lies in dizzy damage. Our Sheep lord deals massive amounts of dizzy damage, that will guarantee dizzy on raw hit. You can combo into our Sheep Lord, but the dizzy damage he graciously provides to us will be scaled as well. Our Lord does not like to share, and prefers the entirety of the opponent to himself."

Sacrifice for the Sheep Lord 🐑
@@bassbusterx Thank you. I had never read this and now I feel like a fool for ever complaining about alex in SFV.

2nd DI Tyrant Rave.
I bet Bedman's most horrifying nightmare is getting instadeathed by Dan's supreme taunt super.

Yeah, really any set up that involves Hemi Jack is beat Bedman's usual set-play. It's sad though 'cuz I really like the look of the super.
All hail the sheep demon.
Gotta love how the most intimidating-looking super is the worst super of the game.

Seems like a real good tool for corner pressure, after knockdown, and for resets. There’s for sure worse ones in the game.
The fix: be so dumb that you can't remember the combination for the super.
hemi jack's description in the dustloop wiki is so silly lol
