- René Burri (9 April 1933 - 20 October 2014) was a Swiss photographer. Burri was a member of Magnum Photos and photographed major political, historical and cultural events and key figures of the second half of the 20th century. He made portraits of Che Guevara and Pablo Picasso as well as iconic pictures of São Paulo and Brasília.

I always felt he was underrated as a photographer but he was up there with the best in my honest opinion. And that shot of the men on top of the building in Sao Paulo is iconic! Loved his work, a master of his craft. RIP Rene Burri.

Exactly I agree : what is the equipment, the cameras in fact, of all these photographers! What are the 4 cameras around Burri's body on the very beginning of this video : I suppose Leica and Nikon, no ?
@@Amia67360 I don’t care what equipment the photographer used. A film photographer of this era probably used a Leica. The photographer took and made the image not the camera. Nobody asked Hemingway what typewriter he used for his books.

This not a review. It's just a slide show of images with background music. If you saw a slide show of Picasso's paintings, would you ask to know the brand and type of paint brushes he used? Same importance.

Quels sont les 3 appareils que Burri porte autour de lui, et celui avec lequel il vise, au tout début de la vidéo : sans doute 2 Leica et 2 Nikon? Ou y a-t-il un Contax dans le lot, ou un Pentax?

Che once asked his firing squad to execute a young boy, they refused. He did it himself, shot the boy in the neck, almost decapitating him. This was documented by letters to his father. Said he was beginning to like doing it. Monster, and the people of Cuba have suffered for decades. Great photographer, not so great message, stupid perspective.
Why would someone have so many cameras raped around d their neck. Yep that's alittle crazy
Different film type and/or lens on each camera. A working photojournalist in the field. Modern digital cameras and good zoom lenses make it so easy now.
