Rayman Legends is probably my favorite 2D game for the Wii U. But did you ever try Child of Light? It used the same Ubi Art Engine as Rayman. I'd say as far as gameplay, it was good but not great. But the graphics and music were absolutely beautiful.
I almost got rid of it. But then I noticed my kid stomping around the house saying it over and over. At that point I realize it was special. Now it’s staying for good 😃
I think sega saturn is The R-E-A-L King of 2D games, because it was built for 2D games and not 3D, but then Sony jumped into the console market with their Playstation.

But as far as the 5th generation, once it became clear I bet on the wrong horse with the Atari Jaguar, I looked at the other systems and... Didn't buy any of them. Between being busy in grad school and poverty, it just wasn't in the cards. But the Saturn was actually the one I wanted despite it being obvious that it also wasn't doing well. I really was not liking the early 3D so the Saturn was actually looking appealing because it was the only 5th generation console where 2D was still a big part of the library. Returning to the Jaguar, the reason I always got so excited when you'd release a Jaguar video is because that was the only console I had all the way up to 2007 when I got the Wii.
You forgot "The Swapper " , "Chronicles of teddy" , "Shakedown Hawai" , "Dual Core" , "Poncho" , "Olympia Rising" , "Runner 2" , "Xeodrifter" , "Terraria" , "Super Meat Boy" .. also there are many Wii games like "Cave Story" , "Muramasa Demon Blade" , "Bit Trip Runner" , and "Kirby Epic Yarn " that deserve to be mentioned because you can play them on WiiU . Please do a part 2 "more WiiU 2D games" so that more people know about them and enjoy them. Thank you 😊
9:16 You mean ported to the Nintendo 3DS, as Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, because Yoshi's Woolly World never got ported to the Switch, it's still a Wii U exclusive !

I went through all of Mighty Number 9 not realizing I could heal myself until the final boss....It was good but a trying of my patience with the lock ups.
I enjoy my Wii U, but it is super not the king of 2D games, and not even in the modern era. PS4 and Switch annihilate this great system for 2D games. Blasphemous The Mummy Demastered Even more Shantae games than Wii U Iconoclasts Owlboy Axiom Verge Dex Aggelos Shovel Knight Flipping Death Thimbleweed Park Guacamelee 1 & 2 Rabi Ribi Stick it to the Man Yoku's Island Express Windjammers Toejam & Earl Back in the Groove 88 Heroes ...and that's just a small selection of some of the physically released ones I've picked up so far. The Wii U is great, but the king of 2D it has zero claim to at all. Also, 88 Heroes should find its way onto your channel. I can't Imagine you disliking it.

Well, to be frank PC is the king of 2D games. It has basically all your indies from PS4 and Switch plus many other not released on other systems.
