I didn't think my boxer would be a good guard dog until an event happened when I needed a guard dog for real, in that instance she was outstanding, not only did she out threaten the threat, but also disabled the guy who tried to attack me without doing damage, a measured attack stopping short of major injury, you can trust them, even the sweet playful ones like mine.
Yeah im from costa rica i own a boxer and one time a thief got into my land. And i was scared. And my boxer was far away. He came running and put in line the thief. I felt like i had a bazooka in my hands i no longer felt fear. Boxers got ur back. And i dont train my boxer for guard whatsoever. They just know u r in danger
Bro your boxer is German or American
@@royalgamer9415 Boxers are not American, they originated in Belgium as the Bullenbeisser, then the Germans mixed that breed with Bulldogs as bullbaiters, this was in the 16th century way before America existed as a country, nowadays ofcourse they are bred everywhere, mine is a British one.
This videos is STUPID🤢 Boxers are the BEST at PHISICALLY attacking if they need to🙂 Fenir is CLUELESS
I’ve had five boxers over the years. As a woman, I was able to go anywhere and not worry. They’re wonderful with children, kind hearted with people, but they don’t back down and just the look of them is intimidating. They’re wonderful dogs but they don’t live long enough and to lose them is just brutal.
I had five European Boxers. Samson , Elsa, Odin, Thor and Nala . Elsa was protection trained . All died of cancer youngest Samson 5yrs old , Oldest Nala 11 yrs old. Each one that died took a piece of my heart . I have no more pieces left. Miss them all very much!
@@johnglowka8724 Same here, no more pieces left. Most of them around 8 years. One at 10. I’m still recovering. Unfortunately, you know where you’re headed with this breed, after seeing it so often. Four died of cancer and one of heart problems. Evidently, according to a veterinarian who specializes in dog cancer, Golden Retrievers and Boxers and the main breeds for cancer.
This video is STUPID🤢 Boxers ARE great at PHYSICALLY ATTACKING if they need to🙂😎 Fenir is CLUELESS🤢
@@johnglowka8724 Our german male Duke was a magnificent dog. He lived to be almost 11 and it did break our hearts to lose him. I'd do it again in a heartbeat though because he was just a glorious dog in every way. Boxers do not tend to be long lived but I could not imagine a life without at least one. People who havent owned a boxer just don't know.
I've had 3 Tasha died from cancer at 5 and a half, Spike got put down when he was almost 8 and Bonnie who lived to be 12 before we had to put her down. Amazing dogs but on average they dont live that long unfortunately.
life long boxer owner and forever boxer fan. I will say if you intend to get a boxer for guard duty primarily, go with a male german line. We have had both amercian lines and german, male and female and the german line males are larger and tend to have a very strong guard instinct. Ours was 83lbs of pure muscle and would march the back yard guarding with no training. He would put himself between us and a stranger. Glorious dog and I still miss him to this day. My current male is 73lbs and american boxer. He is also a good guard dog. Not quite as fierce as my gernan and not quite as large but such a loving boxer. he is in my recliner sleeping with his head on my leg as I type this. Boxers are such awesome dogs. You treat the well and they will reward you with years of fun and laughs and love. You do have to accept the first year they will be a bit crazy as they mature slower than other dogs but trust me, it is worth it.
I'm not sure what all mine were, ik my first was a champion bloodline. My first 2 were the calmest, sweetest dogs.. My third one is also sweet but he's crazy, he wants to play ROUGH ALL DAY, we get so carried away wrestling, but he'll stop and give a smooch if i say "kissy" then to back to trying to hurt me (actually very good about not really hurting me, he.could be a pro wrestler)
When he gets carried away and accidentally hurts me, i dont even have to say, he goes and grabs his toy so we can play a more gentle game..and he's so funny, makes faces when he gets mad or is thinking
My German is 10 weeks old and I already see it when men specifically walk by. He’ll sit in front of and js watch them. Ofc as a 10 week old puppy he can’t do much but it’s interesting the way he acts to different ppl already
Boxers are very protective, easy to train they like to copy you and they are very observant. When ever someone came over I would just say to my dog, say hi, now if I dont say that he will continue to hold his ground and bark at them then as soon as I say " say hi" hes friendly and happy. I do know for a fact he will attack anyone who tries to hurt me. When we are out at cafes he insists on sitting between my legs and watches everyone and is hyper alert. I didnt train him to do that.
They are super easy to train though. Took me about 10 mins to teach him hes not allowed past open gates. Probably 20 mins to leave the hens alone, 5 mins to chase off peacocks. This week he has decided that sitting on my chest is a great way to wake me up in the mornings Then he walks about 10 paces looks back to see if im getting out of bed with that look of you better be getting up. Tomorrow I might sit on his chest and see how he likes it.
LOL … mine sits on me too!
Hello , I’m getting a boxer soon , but I’m confused are they outside dogs or inside ? There big in size can someone let me know please .
@@susiefuentes6628 Boxers have a thin coat so they become cold quite quickly. They also have short snouts making breathing difficult in hot temperatures. Mine like being both indoors and out, but only when the temperatures are mild.
@@ceemar2621 I was told that the boxer is a mix it a boxador , boxer and labrodar mix , the owners say that have had them outside but I want to me a good owner so I need to make sure what am getting my self into 😩
@@susiefuentes6628 - either way, neither breed, boxer or labrador would do well in cold or hot outside. They both will do well in mild temps but be in the house when necessary. Just remember, if it’s too cold or too hot for you to stay outside, it will be the same for you dog. Enjoy your new pup-friend!
I had a Marbleton line Boxer in the 80/90s weighed over 100lbs and he was an instinctive guardian. They way he would position himself to always be between any possible threat and react to anything to intimidate it. There were also the cues that he noticed anything out of place or new. I think his presence alone deterred most threats and he could judge character and intent very well. Boxers imho are up there with the Bullmastiff as one of the best family guard dogs that are easy to live with.
When our kids were small our boxer at the time would do the same thing with them, always sit between them and the fireplace, between the kids and horses. He was a great dog, my current dog a boxer does it too, Its probably instinctive for all dog breeds to do it. ? I dont know Ive only ever had boxers.
Interesting that you mention Bullmastiffs. That's another favorite breed of mine. I think my Boxer looks like a miniature Bullmastiff. Lol.
I have a boxer from marbleton kennel to! She's called valkyrie and is my third
I got my boxer particularly for guarding and maybe the best I ever had.
Family owned a boxer mixed red nose hound growing up. Great guard dog. If you even look him in the eye for too long, that’s a death sentence. Used to think all dogs were like that till I grew up. But he was still sweet and loyal. Tendency to always break free, even break windows when he was younger but that might be the hound in him. All because he was too caught up with his surroundings. Anything that walks by would get a reaction. We were in the city than so he did his job right and we loved him very much.
Boxer people are GREAT people!! ❤️ you guys
I have a boxer myself. We went to a dog school and he is very well trained . He is super friendly, but if he sees a threat, you better run for your money. . I did not train him as a guard dog though.
. I was jumped by 4 aggressive drunk guys and he riped one guy's calf off and went straight for another dude that tried to punch me. They are super sweet and goofy dogs and they can be super protective at the same time.
My terrier was attacked by a pitbull. He’s in the hospital at the moment awaiting jaw reconstruction since his jaw was left hanging from cheek skin. Our boxer was outside with him while the attack happened. The pitbull focused on my terrier 😢 but the boxer definitely defended him against the pitbull. Super friendly personality, she did a fantastic job fighting back. If my little buddy survives this attack I’ll forever be greatfull for my boxer. She potentially saved his life.
I can’t stress enough how friendly she is. Super active, all booty shaking and the best companion to have. But when push comes to shove she did not back down from the fight.
This boxer has showed me that she deserves the world.
(My maltipoo did a good job barking)
I pray your baby is better now. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
@@GODISGREAT122yes. He survived. He no longer has teeth and is missing one side of his jaw. They’re all doing great. Thank you
Such a perfect dog in my own opinion
I once had a loud argument with a roommate. I found my Boxer hiding in the closet. 😂 But she and my other 2 boxers have been fabulous guard dogs.
The answer is a definite yes. I knew when I was at work Bear would protect my wife and kids.
My rescue Boxer is afraid of strangers due to an unfortunate life before me. I don't think she would protect me. But strangers don't know that. And she looks like she could. So, I think people with bad intentions will stay away. And she will probably keep feeling more confident over time.
They are great guard dogs. All of my boxers were great at protection for my family and still are.
Nice video. As a constructive criticism, please take a little more care with editing, a few comments got repeated during the video. I own a female boxer and I'm never really sure if she would make a good guard dog. She strong and confident but also just seems to want to play with anyone and everyone!
Yes, she should make a very great guard dogs
They are better then most at reading a persons face. Even if they wouldn’t attack they sure as hell would annoy the hell out of anyone.
Also most dogs do their guarding by just being present.
@@CookingandWH40kVideos I think if your dog stands between you and what he perceives a threat everytime you have a great guard dog. Mine bailed up the police I was so flustered I forgot to say the word for him to stop he had them so they had to get past him to get out. Then the peacock joined in, it was mayhem lol.
I've Had Cane corals bull mastiffs and american bullies and while they were great dogs , My boxer loves the family guard's the home and best of all fits in with her forever family quite well.
As a dog trainer for 6.5 years and currently own a 35kg male I can easily say YES they can be one of the best guard dogs ever if you put in the work but in all honesty it truly depends on their natural instinct as a lot of boxers tend to be skittish
A friend of mine had 2 boxers back in the eighties. One was old but the younger one was solid muscle and loved nothing more than a good game of tug.
Good video, i had once a boxer but he died from old age. I still miss him but not his stinky farts.
One of the Better Police working dogs and personal protection breeds. My Boxer Brewski, I like to compare to the Presidents Secret Service of Dogs.
I have a boxer and I’m 11 he has killed so many animals protecting me and even attacked my neighbors Rottweiler along with both their Labradors knowing that they were aggressive my dog won’t even leave my side while driving my four wheeler and is very calm and cuddly with the rest of my family he is perfect
Boxers are not great guard dogs in their currurt breed for the most part. They dont have many teeth left. If they are bred as a guard dog they can be quite effective otherwise they will more then likely show an intruder around the house. I love boxers.
Boxer absolutely do not make good guard dogs. They are easily swayed, they do not have the weight or power behind them and could easily be injured by an intruder. Yes they will patrol and alert like ANY dog but there are MANY other breeds that will be better suited for a guard dog position. Promoting this dog as a guard dog is a great way to put these dogs in shelters because the owners will realize they are not what you portrayed and is already an issue. Please do not buy a boxer to be your “guard dog” as the #1 reason, they are loyal family pets better suited for companionship and are very emotional dogs. Will it protect you if you are attacked? Maybe,
You have no clue what you’re talking about . European Boxers are superior protection dogs. My female Elsa was protection trained . 85 lbs . she would have destroyed you . They don’t have the weight and power 😂😂 Why don’t to put on a suite and find out !
As an owner of a Boxer, I will say having a boxer as a guard dogs like bluffing in poker. They look aggressive but are in reality the sweetest thing in the dog world.
It depends on the dog. Our Boxer girl dutchess was just what you describe. Acted tough but would not hurt a flea. Our male boxers have always had more guarding instinct and none more than our german boxer Duke the 2nd. He stared down a pair of German shepards that lived next door once and they both backed down.
A while back I, being a small grey haired senior citizen, was walking in the park with my 94 lb Boxer dog when a large, young, prison tattooed man was suddenly in my face threatening me for no particular reason other than that I was there. He said if I did not have the dog with me he would F me up, etc. I ignored him because he and I both knew my boxer would have killed him had he swung at me. Boxer are the best natural guard dogs on the planet and even a drugged out career street criminal will be deterred simply by the Boxer Dog's appearance. Should a madman press their luck with the animal the person will be killed by the Boxer. Their is no debate about that.
Yes they are great peotectors!
I love boxers
Will the fenrir harness be available in other sizes? When I click the usa link it sends only XL is available.
Hey Jimmy, thanks for watching and reaching out! We're working hard with our suppliers to get stock back in our store! Keep an eye out on our socials and we'll let everyone know as soon as we're back in stock!
Every breed nowadays has problem with guarding instinct and generally working abilities because of the show lines, boxers are not something different, they are alert dogs and not real guardians, if you put them pressure they will flight, if you choose working line kennel then you can have a decent boxer with good temperament, but it is not usual for a kennel to breed for temperament, so don't full yourself...
I am about to get my boxer pup in about 6 weeks.are males or females easier to train
I dont think the sex has anything to do with it. It depends on how you train. I use commands and hand signals. The more your dog likes food the easier he is to train. My current boxer has trained for a few things by accident. for example he helps me collect eggs and likes the smell of them so he walks next to me sniffing my hand with the egg. Add a command like walk and good walk...and he now walks well off leash. The more they love you the more they want to please you, my best advice is boss them around like, I get my dog to sit at the car and wait till hes told to get in or out. Hes not allowed through doors before me. I do regular training sessions with him. I try to boss him around a bit because he loves the leadership and it breeds respect and obedience.
I have a question I’m confused is a boxer a inside dog or outside dog ?? If it’s a indoor dog , what happens if there left outside ?
Boxers tend to be an inside dog, They do not tolerate heat or cold very well due to their single coat and especially in heat due to their brachycephalic head they can struggle to release heat from panting. If they have white markings around their muzzle then they can easily get burnt in the sun. I own one now who is pure white so he lives inside with us like the big baby he is. Insects bites and stings can also harm and potentially kill your dog
Brave ???? My 40kg Boxer is scared of his own shadow
Nice, Thx🙌 🥰
You're welcome 😊
So we all need guard dogs? My Bulloxer is the comedic relief of my fence.
I have one, a clown and funny....but!!!! Hes guarding !
The thumbnail clearly has a Bullmastiff on it. SMH. I know they are cousins and all but come on. As someone who has owns both, they have a different face. No excuses 😂
It really depends on how you keep your dog, if you let the dog sleep in your bed , lick your face every day. You make the dog too soft. That's why you see videos of houses being burgled and the house dog just wags it's tale. The burglers take the dog with them. Or women get raped n dog does nothing regardless if its boxer or German shepherd. The biggest issue is the show ring ,there's not many working line breeds left.
I'm calling Bullshit against this!
A whole lot of talk, regarding training and anything for that matter. Not much videos with boxer s in them confirming your claims
Will,
I suggest that you do not interrupt videos made by your employees.
Give them their space.
Trust them to do their work on their own.
If you do a video your self, then you should ofcourse be on show.
When one of your people do a video, then stay out of it. Give them their space.
I have noticed that you thypichally burst in and often take over a video started by one of your people.
I find this verry irritating and to be verry bad form by you.
This make me perceive you as overly dominant, and oppressive, of your people.
As I appreciate the actual content of facts and advice in the Fenrir show I ask you to view this as konstructive criticism.
I been lucky enough to have boxer dogs my hole life. I am 68 years old and my boxers have save my life and my family from intruders and attacks out in the world My parents had them as guard dogs too. They are my best and most LOYAL FRIENDS. If only they could live longer. This world 🌍 should invest more money 💰 in resources to help boxers to live longer instead of war. Losing a BOXER is like losing a child.
