  • In today's video I go through things I wish I knew before starting my HR career. Most of my points relate to setting boundaries, looking after your mental health and being proud of where you are currently even if you aren't exactly where you want to be. I hope this helps at least 1 person!

Totally relatable… I think both small and large organisations have its pros and cons. While I like large org based on my current employer, I am willing to explore small org especially because I would like to be involved in decision making process rather than being always told what to do… Of course, what’s mine will not pass me by 😊

It’s great that you are thinking about your options Daniel. I do think smaller organisations give you a chance to have more autonomy. Exactly, it will never pass you by😉

Hey alisha. Thank you for your honest video. Just this morning i thought about you. I was thinking that i miss your day in the life videos because they are very motivating 😊.
I totally understand how you were feeling, especially being frustrated in not having that all-round hr experience.
I guess we have to be grateful of how far we have come from when we started.
Just know that we are all in this together 😊.

It's critical to set boundaries. As a people pleaser, I wasn't able to get things done. That meditation book called 30 Days to Overcome Guilt by Harper Daniels helped a lot, as well as learning to set hard boundaries with coworkers.

Thanks for suggesting this book, I will definitely check it out! Thats something I do struggle with, overcoming the guilt of feeling that I’m letting others down.

I’m finishing up my BA-HR graduation November🙌🏾👩🏾‍🎓 the class work is definitely overwhelming, trying to remember labor laws😪 I feel lost if it wasn’t for Google. Plus I work full time. Mental health is a rollercoaster. I’m struggling landing an internship though 😢. I’m trying to get one for this summer especially before I graduate.
