Our opening choices are so simpatico. I often got this by transposition playing the Van Geet with 1. Nc3. I’ve been playing the Ponzianni of late and …1 b5 vs 1. c4 The English, another gambit line you’ve covered. The Van Geet has lots of interesting gambit lines. And how about the Novosibirsk with1. Nc3 c5 2. d4. Van Geet played high level correspondence with 1.nc3
Can you do an Anti-Bird video? Would love to see the aproach an NM would take on it. Both classical Setup with b3 e3 and the Leningrad. (I got a good antidote against the Shankland line with b5, but would recommend it anyways)
I had the opportunity to try this just after watching the video. I won in 16 moves with a fun mate on the h file. The guy never knew what hit him. OUTSTANDING!!!
I would love to see the Name of the Variation in the titel, here its the Lizard Attack if I remmeber correctly. I always look for yt video and connt find anything, because its not in the titel
I've been playing the black knight's tango and this idea is going to be great for my white repertoire. The bishop on the c file (instead of checking on the b file) seems a lot more active. Thanks!
Of course you don't but if black plays e5 on first move, you play d4 then you have the white Caro. As black when white plays d4 and you play c6, you don't get the Caro either. That's chess for ya. Your opponent doesn't always play what you want so prepare other options.
@@TheChessGiant I am a big fan. I've been playing the Hippo for about 3 or 4 years. Started by mistake. I bought the E6B6 course from Gotham and in many games found the Hippo setup more fun. (Didn't know it's called the Hippo at the time)

Thank you for this video! I arrived to this opening after playing a Van Geet opening... Your lesson is of great help.
Excellent video. Reverse openings certainly help cut down on memorizing lines & make finding ideas much easier

I appreciate you talking through the thinking process. Great stuff!

Anti-bird you can play d5,c6 and build up for an e5-push. White can’t stop it and black gets a really good game
Can you make a vid on Macleod attack
When I was younger I had my own opening for black and white. Turns out I was just playing the King’s Indian from both sides 😂😅

Do you have a complete series on the Nimzowitsch defense ? For black
I love to copy the Black Lion into the White Lion sometimes. e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Be2

Great lesson, Solomon! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for the new video!!
Thanks for tuning in! You should give the Nimzowitsch Defense Kennedy Variation (but for white against the Scandinavian Defense) a try!
I don't like 1. c3 because if black plays 1. d5 after 2. d4 I don't get a Caro-Kann

Tell it to Solomon
