This was way more instructional than I was expecting-I was honestly just waiting for her to be nailing it in the background on her own like she did with the how to teach a kid how to scooter one!
Jordan: If they fall off. Nala: *Falls off* Me: Not an instruction, but good listening. How many Best Dad awards do you have? If the answer is none, you need a video of how to get your kids to make you a “Best Dad” award, you deserve one.
When I was learning how to ride a bike, my Dad promised me he would keep following me and holding the seat so I wouldn't fall. I started pedaling, everything was going well, then I turned around and saw my dad was far away behind. I fell right away. Biggest treason ever.
My first "free" ride took place in a backyard garden in times where they told me "you are a boy...you can MAKE it!!" So no help from anyone...my first ride ended in ploughing a strawberry field part of the garden after about 15 secs of free riding...I´ll never forget that :)
@@wilfriedsiems9658 thankfully I don't remember falling at all. My brother did. He came crying to my dad about a scrape on his elbow... I was the one that told him his head was bleeding
Shoes are also really really important! When my mom was a kid she had a toe reattached after she slipped a pedal and her foot went into the spokes on the front wheel 😱
The energy of this one!! That's the thing about living somewhere so spacious. She's got all the room in the world to run&roll, like a child should. Happy, energetic and a lovely person is what happens.
My dad taped a broomstick to the back of my bike and ran next to me. He let go without me knowing and I just rode the bike - until he told me he had let go then I suddenly couldn't ride anymore lol. That was 20 or so years ago. Man, my dad is awesome. Hoping to do the same with my son when he's ready.
Memories! I learned as a 5-year old on an adult-sized bike so there was a lot of slipping off the pedals and hurting myself falling off, back in the ‘fifties. Nala was very good! Helmet straps a bit too loose, if the helmet is not on properly the helmet could do serious harm to her in an accident.
My little one had a bike with a cargo rack. So I tied a stick from the rear axel up along her back ending a bit over her head. Excellent way to give support as I was running aside. Your grip is straight over the center of gravity. My grandson started on a balance bike and learned to ride all by himself at 2yrs. A few weeks later he advanced to a pedal bike.
I’m teaching my little one how to ride a bike today, watching all the videos on it and yours one made me smile the most! She said sweet bless her, the helmet adjustment🤣❤️ Thank you for putting your video out into the world!
So glad to find a tutorial for stabilisers. Too many of these videos are going on about balance bikes for toddlers and progressing. They ignore that some are past that point already.
My dad got me a used bike when I was 10. It already had the training wheels on it. He said “ well here you go” and walked away. Taught myself 👍🏻 Thanks dad!
in my experience, that short grassy hill at the beginning is the ticket to success. they don't have to pedal, just pick their feet up and down. when my kids got to riding down the whole hill without needing their to put down their feet for balance, we went to flat ground and added pedaling.
I tought my kids and a niece how to ride, excellent fun, they love the freedom! I'm currently looking for an ebike for myself so I can get back out there with them, it's been a while 😆 Might want to put proper, closed-toe shoes on though, mum-talk 😉
🚲 Gang, My Siblings just summoned the 🚲 & mentioned "You know how it works" & off I was out into the adult world (Kekw) Picked it up quick though 👌Great video, will show this to them for sure. Keep it up & stay safe guys 🚲 😎 👊 0:40 Hej 👋 1:41 Cue 👀 2:37 🤔
Watching her put on that helmet in the background was the BEST!!!
Too 🥰 cute
Safety first! 😂

Same here
All jokes aside I hope one day I can be as great of a dad as this man.
Me too
can imagine in the future when they grow up there'll be ' how to teach a dad' series 🙂🙃
And how to granddad...
How to child
How to beat-up your daughter's boyfriend.
The perfectly timed fall was reminiscent of the How to get a child to sleep video. Classic. This was a good one H2D
Taught all 4 of my kids to ride a bike. They rode away first time like champs. I'm not sure they even needed my help, to be honest.
Jordan: If they fall off. Nala: *Falls off* Me: Not an instruction, but good listening.

I learned on thee concrete next to some garages next to my house. I had no help.

Lamenting on harmless bruises ignoring the worser ones...good that you told him :)
You know you´re kiwi when you learn how to ride a bike with friggin jandals on xD
Nala absolutely nailed it! You go, girl! Well done!
So happy for you 'Nala'😀😀😀😀. Bless you always 🙌🙌🙌

Absolutely right! Appropriate footwear when cycling is just as necessary as a helmet! This is a teachable moment in the life of ‘How to Dad’.
Yeah, I thought why is she wearing thongs? (jandals, flip flops).
Yeah, close toed shoes are a big one.
@@fitbmx7744, even barefoot might be better than flipflops. But yeah, sneakers or trainers are the better choice!
@@Dottyeyes Totally agree! Flipflops are just going to slide around and get caught.

my dad did the same. I think this is the proper way (Jordan does it here too)
Nala is growing up so big so quickly!!! Keep capturing all these precious moments with your girls!!!
Nala is such a champ!! Well done beautiful girl. High five dolphin dive ✋🐬

I think it's not a good idea to focus on the helmet (takes the focus away from learning to ride) when you're just on grass and soft ground like this.
The Bike was prep'd with streamers and a basket. Build for success! Well done Nala!

Adorable!! So fun to watch

"Yeah but you're ok aye" love it

So proud of her!!!! High five, dolphin dive!
at this point NALA is indeed a paid actress. Hhahaha She does the adlibs that are so on point.
The leader of the dad council
That is a 100% dad ending..
“oh yeah, alright.. I guess.. I’ll carry all this back to the car”
So glad to find a tutorial for stabilisers. Too many of these videos are going on about balance bikes for toddlers and progressing. They ignore that some are past that point already.
She did beautifully. 💚
Looks like HTD tried to grow his lawn in the park too!
😅
and now, for the rest of her life, she has a skill that will never need a "refresher" course. humans are amazing (very occasionally)
Never thought I'd cry at someone's kid learning to ride two wheels.
Love it! Nala is great!
Thank you for existing
She's gonna be great singer
My mom always says "You have the best dad". But i think you are the best dad 😃
I'm so glad to watch a video from 2022. Nala is so awesome
Good dads build tough cookies. She’s gonna be a tough girl when she grows up. Thank you for showing all the men here how it’s done
Nala’s back in the wild, hopes she finds something to teat this time.
That 'BIIIIIIIIcycle' sound in the background is making me rofl😂😂😂
Thanks mate. One dad to another. You are a legend
My sister lost a toenail riding her bike in jandals at age 8, and it never grew back properly.
@Victoria Olson, Appropriate footwear when cycling is just as necessary as a helmet. This is a teachable moment for ‘How to Dad’.
She got that so fast! Time for the skatepark. 😃
Getting major how to release a baby into the wild vibes 😂
Wow cute bike I love the colour
"Don't do it on concrete the first time."
Damn. I should've known that as a kid. 😂 I had a helmet on but my arm and butt got hurt a bit.
I didn't have a helmet but I did have concrete
@@janinedear-barlow now that's how the real ones learn it. Concrete gang rise up! 😎
Watching Nala grow makes me feel so old🥲
Awesome job, Nala!
I learned on an old beat up bike too big for me, on GRAVEL!
She still got the best camera cue eh
I wish for many more of these.

Fantastic job dad….. nailed it
Bravo Nala! Bravo DAD!
Man she’s a boss
When did Nala get so big!
That was a crisp high five
Congratulations on buying your new house! I learnt to drive a bike the old fashioned way - I've got artificial hips and worn out knees 😊
She is growing up so fast

✋ Nala teaching you the high 5 rhyme at the end. 😄
😂😂 I love it, like all of your lessons 😄
She had great instincts!

NALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! You rock!
YAY NALA! SO PROUD!!!
Bravo Nala!!! 🏆🥇
I'm watching pretending I had a dad like that growing up :) . It's like inner child reparenting on RUclips! Lol
There is absolutely nothing in this video not to love!! :)
OMG, Nala is so tall!! 🤩✨
I love how in these videos, we're supposed to pretend the kid doesn't even hear you when you're talking only to the audience, lol
Oh so you don't just tie the bike to your ute's rear bumper. Live and learn, i'll get it right with the next one i guess.

I was gonna say the same thing about the footwear! lol

Great job bandit
Great job, Nala! Wow! Look at 'er go! Way to train, How to Dad! I busted my gut laughing at her struggling with that helmet!
It's 42 years since I rode a bike. I'm 64 now and everyone is telling me i need to exercise... Wish me luck
My first riding session was, "here's your bike, now go ride it." 🤣🤣🤣
That real time fathering "put your foot down so you don't f.. cool"
