Thanks Minx..it was a lovely time and I enjoy going round Arran ..its a bit far for me to travel then now as I moved house to the Oban area but still plenty to see here ..thanks for commenting :-D
Hi Donny, what I like about your adventures is the fact we know many of the areas you visit,we took our touring caravan upto Arran last year,it's so beautiful and unspoilt on the west coast in years gone by it was an annual pilgrimage, thanks Paul
Hi Paul..a delayed reply due to computer issues at my end ..thanks for commenting..and Im delighted you enjoy seeing areas you know ..but from my perspective :-D
Nice! The wee offshore land breeze around Lochranza is fairly consistent in settled conditions and then disappears as you get further out. 3 times we set off from there this summer with some reefs in, and ended up motoring 2 miles later!
Hi Nicol..glad you enjoyed it and yes..it all looks much different from the sea.. I often drove round Arran as I used to work there sometimes..many years ago
Hi Donny , great video and brill music, its good to see you back out doing what you seem to love doing and enjoying your new boat, me and the mrs are off to Loch Lomond this coming weekend to meet up with some friends we met last year and hope to have some boaty fun awra best .
Hi Donny, I'd so love to do these trips. Having cycled the full circuit of Arran & cycle camped around both it & Bute it'd be interesting to see the lay of the land from the sea like this. Enjoyable vid again & thanks for sharing buddy 👍👍
Thanks Ste..and it is great seeing familiar places from the sea ..as the do look very different..and not many boats to navigate round..unlike our busy footpaths :-D
Hi Mooncrow ..I had a computer malfunction and lost a bit of interest until I got time to sort it..hopefully all will be well now..thanks for looking in
Hi Erick..its a lovely area so Ihope you can get a visit..if not to Arran..a similar type island..its a very enjoyable experience. Thanks for commenting
@@donnywilcox Yes I am lucky to libe on Florida and there are tons of islands here. I've been able to camp at 2 of them Shell Key and Anclote Key. Amazing sunsets in those places.
@@ErickMartinSucre Cool..I was lucky enough to have a holiday at Key West ..so know the lovely sunsets you get there. I loved the pelicans too..but realise they are as common as our seagulls are over here. Your weather is far warmer than here too..but I would miss our rain .. I guess ? :-D
Great route! My little SIB is on Gareloch and really fancied going down and around bute, possibly Arran too but I think I’d need to be with other SIB boaters in case of any problem.
Hi DJI..yup care is needed on the longer journeys in small boats as the sea changes constantle..but its very do able with some experience .. enjoy your SIB :-D
Hi Pieter..sorry for late reply..but now Im getting around 65 miles to the 25 litre tank..with the 25HP two stroke. Not as efficient as a fout stroke..but the RIB is better for fuel consumption than the old inflatable I used to have :-D
@@donnywilcox I didn't know you did your own compositions. Man of many talents! Sounded good! Happy New Year to you too, looking forward to watching your 2021 adventures!
Lovely experience!

Brilliant. Typically how much fuel would you have to carry to cover 70 miles at sea ? Fantastic musical score . 😊
Depends on the boat and motor, I’ve got a 3.3m SIB with 15 hp outboard and if I’d need about 30L but would probably take 50 (just in case)
Great video Donny. What mpg do you get from your outbound
