    I have my yarn in my grandmother's China hutch. It stays dust free, safe from my cat, organized and makes a pretty conversation piece. The limited space also forces me to keep my stash manageable! Lol

      I did that until our last move. I left the hutch behind. It was my style but I kept moving it. I heard her telling me to let it go.❤

    You have such great ideas. I'm happy to say that I'm making another Dead Fish Beanie & had the colors in my stash already. I was so happy.

      I love when that happens! Having the exact yarn you needed for a project in your stash. Make me feel like I really do have a yarn shop in my own home. 😂❤️🧶

    My goal in 2024 is to try to use up all (or at least most!) of my yarn stash before buying new any yarn. I am very guilty of buying yarn that is on sale, even though I do not have a particular project in mind. So I am working “backwards” - pulling one or more skeins from my stash and then finding a project I can make with those skeins. I’m making progress but it was SO HARD to pass on all those great end-of-the-year yarn sales 😮

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  5 месяцев назад

      I'm right there with ya sister. I did the same thing. Those super sales are so hard to pass on when you see the price is so cheap. But, I've definitely been there where I now have all this yarn but have no idea what to do with it. Hmm, that will actually make a great community question! Thanks for that, and good luck finding projects that inspire you! 🤗❤️🧶

    Great video & tips! I've run into issues with sorting yarn in plastic bags & containers. The yarn gets a chemical plastic smell. I've started storing my yarn like I do my family's handmade quilts- in pillowcases. It allows the yarn to breathe but protects it from dust & exposure.

    Thank you! I have been struggling with this very challenge. I am guilty of buying yarn because it's beautiful (most times with a suggested project in mind) and then failing to execute! I have so. much. yarn now, and told myself NO MORE until I have used/gifted/donated the stash I have. 😊 Thank you for the suggestions to motivate!

      Great I will try the dryer sheets. I already use freezer bags within the large bins but to no avail. Darn bins are expensive. I've heard you can wash yarn in lingerie bags. Might try this too.

    I can't remember what project I purchased most of the yarn for. I did find some that I would like to give to someone in the group. Right now I am so tired I can't even think. MUCH LOVE 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

    I like your information. I still have problems with bin storage taking on a mildewey scent. Nothing has helped I'm ready to throw away all my stash. Any other ideas???

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hmm, I'm guessing if you are using storage bins then you have a pretty decent size yarn stash. It's awful when yarn starts to get affected by where we store it. If your yarn is starting to take on that smell it might be the bin's themselves or somehow the yarn is still being affected by elements that are causing it to turn. I would try getting a new bin to test if that fixes the problem and if it does get more bins or try getting a really really big ziplock bag you can put your yarn in and then put in the bins. I've heard adding a drier softener sheet can help with the smell of the fibers or those lovely lavender or scented pouches can be very complimentary.

    I went through a phase in 2020 and 2021 where my yarn made me sad. I decided to just use them and make things - skirts for me, children’s clothes, stuff for other people. I’m liking my yarn stash again, but it’s still just to use them up and i.e. “get rid of” the stash. But, I started buying yarn again.. what am I doing? 🤷‍♀️

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  5 месяцев назад

      I know what you mean. An over abundance of yarn can actually bring me stress. I guess it's different for everyone. But I do understand the whole buying of yarn thing. It's therapeutic and makes us happy seeing something so pretty and thinking of the possibilities of what we could have fun making. 😊

    What did you use for the pegs on the wall, holding the yarn?❤

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  5 месяцев назад

      These are just your common peg boards you can find at your local home supply store like Lowes or Home Depot. They have whole sheets of peg board you can cut to whatever size you want AND you can find different pegs to use with it. If you get shorter pegs then when you hang your yarn it wont stick out the front. You can find both metal and wooden ones to utilize for your space. 😊
