    I’ve had my Brera S prodrive 3 weeks , and I absolutely love it....I have the 2.2 , it’s so much better than people would have you believe ...I’ve owned 10 or so other Alfa’s including 3 Busso engined cars and the Brera is shaping up to be my favourite as a complete package .

      @@duleopasni oh they did, for sure ...but limited parking after moving required a different approach also the cars they are in are fragile for daily use.
      My dream Alfa garage would be a 916 GTV 3.0 (owned one ) , a 916 spider 2.0 TS in Zoe yellow ( just sold one ) a GT 3.2 ( owned one ) and a GTV6 Alfetta and a 105 series S2 spider...
      Next time I move parking will be have to be a priority 😏

      I remember Chris Harris reviewing the Brera S and saying the 2.2 was the best. Prob is making sure you really have a Prodrive car as Alfa UK seemed to randomly chuck leftover Prodrive parts to whatever Breras were parked nearby!

    If there was one design that should be continuously on production much like 911 and Audi TT it is the Brera. Imagine an updated design with the powertrain and setup of the Giulia QV.... Who would not want that?

  • @gorkab8461

    Flawed as it was from a front-heavy design, both mechanically and aesthetically, the Brera/Spider was a thing of beauty which will always serve as a reminder of the authenticity and pureness of Alfa Romeo as an automotive icon.

    Excellent video on the models.
    I’m not sure I’d want the V6 power through just the front wheels when all wheel drive is available. Many articles criticised the V6 as it’s not a Busso but a GM lump. I’ve never been in one so I have no opinion yet.
    The 1750 tbi has many fans describing the low weight with high (ish) power. I have thought that this would be my choice with further spending on the suspension like the Pro-drive model.
    I’m not in love with the Brera but I certainly am getting the itch. 🍺

    • @Matteo_Licata
      @Matteo_Licata  2 года назад +2

      Thank you! I think the Brera and Spider have really been misunderstood, and probably still are now. Wouldn't mind owning one, regardless of the engine, as it's just so pretty. Well built and comfy too. I haven't driven the much-loved 1.8 turbo engine, but they made so few of them that Italian Alfisti are already pushing prices up... And I'm not sure it's worth the premium.

    Matteo, if I'm correct there was also a Brera Turismo Internazionale (Ti) outside of the UK that had 19 inch Brera S wheels only but I'm not sure if it was a special edition. Confusingly here in the UK , you could buy a 159 in Ti guise but with 19 inch spoke style alloys.

      Yes, you're correct about the Brera Ti, but I haven't included it because Alfa at the time didn't present it as a limited edition, but simply as a trim level. They must be rare though.

      @@Matteo_Licata In the UK there was also the Spider LE which had the 18" or were they 19" spoked wheels, the high backed seats with the aluminium section in the headrest. My mother had a white one with tan interior. It was beautiful and turned many heads but so disappointing to drive. It was cheap to finance though and bizarrely hers came with a Brera badge on the bootlid not Spider!

      @@Matteo_Licata Yep. In fact I've changed the springs to the Eibach ones, the new dampers, reinforced Meyle HD suspension elements... even I've get the original Brera S alligment and I've remaped my 2.2 JTS engine... The driveability now is much more spicy :)
      But there is something that I'm missing... The original prodrive exhaust!! It's almost imposible to get one, at least not with a lot of rust for a lot of money :(
