    This is great, very clear and concise..if you could please do the reverse operation that would be even better including the lever on the pump…which I’ve been advised to do but to see it visually would be great
    Thanks for posting this up

    thanks so much for this video. My ECU and electrics are beyond repair but can now open the roof in 2 mins. Probably 4 to get closed. Thought car was a right off but now very happy and no roof anxiety about the electrics failing!!

    I really really appreciate this video the Alfa spider is on my radar for this summer and there are so many for sale with a broken roof and that's frightening but hay if you can do it manually why stress out I would only take it out on a sunny day anyway
    If I get one with roof problems I will definitely take it to you for repair your a top guy

    About time someone did a video on this - lost count of the number of times I've had to explain to people ! Worth doing a video on manually opening as people are often worried about doing so

    • @CabrioletTech

      Hi Bill
      Thought about making one to open it manually but then if someone can't follow the video backwards on how to close it. Should they be allowed to do it in any case ?

    • @Lee_Pitcher
      @Lee_Pitcher Год назад +1

      @@CabrioletTech The only part the video doesn't really cover is resetting the pump which is quite important otherwise the roof won't work. Otherwise it's THE perfect video for people to get involved in the manual roof operation of their Spider. I appreciate the roof can have a number of problems for failures though so not everything can be covered in one video. Personally I've always pressed down on the boot lid to ensure clearance when opening/closing the clamshell otherwise bad things can happen ! Something people should be aware of. If you don't mind I'll post a link on the 939 forum to the video

      @@Lee_Pitcher Hi Bill
      Intentionally left that part out, why?
      The purpose is to get someone out of trouble to close the roof, as it doesn't work electronically.
      Intention being that they find someone to repair it to address the root cause to restore electrical function.
      Of course maybe in the future when I make videos on repairing them, will include to pressure the pump as required
      Would love for you to post the video, much appreciated

      I would appreciate it for opening - even if it is only this in reverse it would be very helpful to demonstrate. mine can be temperamental and sometimes only do half a cycle which frightens me to death in case it starts raining. Great video - really appreciate it.

    Amazing video. Mine got the roof mechanism broken and I can't find the serial numbers of the replacements I need to buy in Italy or elsewhere. Pumps/engines and levers need to be replaced (I think more pieces too). If anyone could share the serial numbers of the most common pieces of the roof mechanism it would be greatly appreciated.

      @@60specialkit’s user friendly to reset the pump. Generally you can just push the cable back inside the car but I prefer to reset it by moving the lever back fully. Both do the same but doing it by hand ensures it goes back all the way

      @CabrioletTech  Год назад +1

      You would need to get to the pump and close the bypass screw and of course address the original issue to why your didn't close electrically in the first place

      I know that you already answer on similar question but believe me in Serbia where I'm living there is no service who want to touch anything about Spider roof. Its like devil is in the garage for everyone. So that's why that part would be really really welcome.
