My friend, you deserve applause for finding a smart and cheap solution for your turntable. I have the same problem, and tomorrow morning I'm going to run to a store to buy a screw that fits it, the same way you did in the video. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
I bought mine back in the 80's and haven't used it in decades. Found the "table" wouldn't turn. The belt was in good shape except a small piece that went around the capsun. I have over 250 vinyl lps and I used to play them ONE time to put them on cassette. Thanks for the video.
I have the same turntable and thank you for showing how to replace the belt. One thing you did not show but repaired was the tone arm lift. Mine doesn't lift so I'm wondering if you can share what you did to get the lift to work again. Thanks
Hi mate, you solved me a problem . I spent sleepless nights for this issue...I was thinking to create a 3d project and print it, but thanks very much cause you helped me to understand which was the problem
Mine came with an ADC PSX-30 cart which Ive found was a higher end cart, sounds lovely on the BD-22! Makes a good lifelong turntable with a premium P-mount cart.
wow, great video! Thanks for the info shared! One question in case you have something in mind to share also. I own the same turntable, and after the it plays for, let's say, one side of a typical LP, it then (randomly) starts and vary the speed of the turns (mostly drops speed rate). Any thoughts on that? [Haven't verified yet, but i think that if i put it on que and then play again it regains it's speed (need to test more to be certain?)]
Hello any tips on replacing the tonearm on this specific model turntable?? inheriting one from my dad and the arm is bent. Already bought a replacement to fit the model.
I had the exact same turntable with the belt turned to glue. I used a metal dishpan scrubber. And, when removing any rubber/tape glue, I put oil on it when scrubbing. You know how oil keeps tape from sticking to things? It is the same thing with whatever you just scrubbed off. And also works great for removing price tags, etc. I just use olive oil since it's sitting right there in my kitchen. It scrubbed off in a couple of minutes and then I cleaned the oil off with dish soap.
Much appreciated and great to hear the honest opinion that it’s a cheap and nasty and time consuming to fix. Still a helpful insight into solving some of it’s issues.
it gets me krazy the fact you have a rezervoir cover probably from a motorcylce next to your LPs and the turntable...is like looking my own lab...hahahahaa
Hi, I'm having the same problem with my device, which screw model you used to solve this problem. was wondering if it's too complicated to disassemble the underside? Thank you very much.
Hi there, I have this exact model and I'm having the same issue of the needle lifting on the last track or so. How did you actually fix this issue. I saw where the problem was but I really wanna try what I can to fix this myself before just buying a new piece. Also when I try to adjust the pitch wheel it goes up and down for a while before steadying. Any tips on that?
For the pitch wheel, the control is probably just dirty. Get some control cleaner like Nutrol or Deoxit spray and spray the pot from the inside. For the auto-return, if it is the same problem as mine, the plastic part that sets the return position broke off. I think I glued a screwhead in there to fix it. I thought the video showed how I fixed it.
@@mechtrician1 it does show the shaved screw glued in the place! I have the exact same model almost ready to be used. Just need to get a new belt for it.
How much money would you think that it would take to get it fixed as you did? Im reconsidering to send the one I have from my grandpa, a different model, SL-B210, but I don't want to put that much money on it, kinda the same conditions yours was. Best regards, great video.
I don't care what people say, to me? Outstanding job! I have a Technics Direct Drive Turntable. SL-DD33. Work great but at the end of a record playing, the arm does not return. I have to return it by hand.

Very resourceful in fixing every aspect. Great work.

That was ingenious fixed is what you wanted
“That’s some devil shit there”. Lol. Needed a laugh.

You talk a lot, but the premature auto return is my problem on the same turntable. I understand now,so thanks.

Hi,
I'm having the same problem with my device, which screw model you used to solve this problem.

Thank you very much.
I just experimented with some screws I had in my stash. Probably had about 1/4” diameter head.

my autoreturn cam is not broken but adjusted to the max. it goes to the end but does not lift ,instead the arm pulls back on the vinyl
Are the two sig output cables fixed in place at the turntable or will they pull off like regular av cables?
They are RCA jacks on the rear, removable.

Not much at all. New belt and some time. Like 10 bucks for the belt.

Tengo uno y suena vajito, alguien sabe por qué? Cómo puedo arreglarlo
TIENES el cable de tierra istalado ?
Hi, how did you lubed the lifter under the tone arm? 32:53-34:00
Saw one video where the guy, from underneath, use a syringe with some kind of lube.
