Looks so amazing and the history behind it is interesting as well. Thank you for the tour, I hope to visit Kyiv next summer and spend a few weeks there. Have an awesome day! :)
I've honestly never given much thought to visiting Kyiv but your video has me thinking! The wooden construction is beautiful as is that statue. Thank you for sharing your video with us! Happy to subscribe.
That is quite interesting that they would build a reconstruction of a gate but not actually know what the original looked like!! There is also a smattering of snow on the ground already!! I do like the statue of the Grand Prince. Even though I am not what you would call an art lover, I do always appreciate local sculptures that give you an indication of the history of a place. It was nice to visit somewhere a little unique today, a place that I likely wouldn't have the opportunity to see and learn about otherwise, so thank you for sharing.
Yes, it's a unique site with regards to motivation and actual meaning and trying to tie the two together. But it does draw visitors on a regular basis and perhaps stimulates some interest in the ancient history of the city and region, so that's a plus at least. That's actually heavy frost and not snow on the ground, but getting snow in Kyiv in December and even November is normal. In fact it would be far more unusual to not have snow by December. It's farther north than most people realize, on the same latitude as Edmonton, Canada.
This building was built over a thousand years ago, it is the simple answer to those russians ignorants that believe Ukraine belongs to them historically, when in fact Russia belongs to Ukraine.

That is an impressive building! Would have been cool to see it 1000 years ago. :)
Yeah, I think the original would be much cooler. Thanks for watching.

Exactly right! This is why Kyiv is known as "The Mother of all Rus cities." Thanks for the astute comment!
