Art of Rally is a new and very distinct rally racing title for PC from developer Funselektor. In this video I'm going to review this racing game, and let you know why I think this is the perfect racing game for these tough times.

"The requirement to win races to progress injects a massive incentive to improve into a racing title." This is so true. I would rather buy a SP campaign as a DLC than some track or a car that i can loop around aimlessly. Especially for games that don't have mods.
This is true for me too, but it seems to be more of a minority view the more hardcore of a sim is discussed. As a loose metaphor, sometimes I like listening to fully realized albums front-to-back rather than hunting for songs. I don't think that degrades the seriousness of the content one bit.
This is a really cool little game, love the art style, and the driving feels really good!

This is what we want more from the racing category, idc if they have the greatest graphics a racing game has seen, i want game with flair and style, this and unbound as well as the the wrc is a w for the community

I feel like Art of Rally is the perfect mix between fun and challenging. It captures the feel of rally down to the tee while maintaining a fun perspective of racing and motorsport in general. Also, I feel like the physics are more simcade style than anything, as it feels realistic, but not to a point where you need something like a wheel and can only really play on that. It'll also keep you saying "Just one more" at 3 am because it's so goddamn addicting. 8/10 for me bc camera. If it was more 3rd person, it would be a 10/10.

I love Art of Rally. It's such a chill game where you find yourself getting into a zone and just enjoying it. Visual style, music, controls and photo mode are A+ for me.
I swear, I think the blow-off valve sounds are someone making them with their mouth XD

If any of you are doubting if this is worth the purchase over something else on your steam wish list, just buy it. You won't regret it. Lots of fun, such a visual delight. User made skins, leaderboards, fun SP campaign, oh and that soundtrack.

I came here to ask the same thing! I had no gaming experience before I started sim racing 18 months ago. As s result, I wouldn't know a game controller if it bit me! Would this game work (and still be enjoyable) with a wheel and pedals (T300/T3PA in my case)? Thanks Mike!
Hey Eddie (& Bob) - you might be able to get Art of Rally to work with your wheel, using a little bit of software called x360ce.exe. I just set it up, so I could use my Logitech G29 with the game RIDE 4. It works great once I fine-tuned it, but didn't work so well with Art of Rally's big brother game - called Absolute Drift. The software itself has been out for a while - so there are already quite a few video's on it you can watch. But I was considering doing a fresh one myself very soon - as the software has just been updated to version 4, which makes it much easier to use.

A fantastic title. Very surprised with the responsive handling and speed in this title. If you know how to drive a rally stage you'll fit right in. No passenger Turn calls
About the gameplay settings. When I got to the more powerful cars I used the same settings with each one and didn't have any issues

On Acc, I only can see the first 10 cars. Turn 1 at monza is always...... interesting 😬.

Absolute Drift was also amazing to go for the high scores. I want to support this studio but only if they bring it to Xbox Series X or Switch. This is for me a couch game like Forza Horizon.

Wait, what? I’ve never even heard of Vorpx. I’ve got to get my hands on it....
@@SimRacing604 It's really cool and quite easy to use. You start Vorpx first, then start a vorpx-compatible game and you can play them in VR. Bioshock, Half Life 1+2, some 800 games are now working with it. Some better than others, some need a bit of tinkering (changing FOV settings, stuff like that) but it enlarges your VR games library enormously. Obviously it's not as polished as 'real' vr games, you can't use your vr controllers in the game for example. At the moment I'm playing Red Dead 2 in VR which for me was a dream come true.

My go to racing/car game when I am too fucked up on drugs to play a sim
Tnx for your great review. I 've got a problem with this game. On the left of the gear / rev indicators often I see a little wheel loading, it only last about 1 sec or so, and when it is fully loaded my car is reset on the track. I have never seen that wheel in any online video I have watched. What the hell is it? Please somebody help me.
The car reset button is the same one used for steering. I have a bad habit of pushing the steering stick to hard and resetting The car.
@@jdbrando9469 Tnx a lot man! You made my day. It was exactly what you said! Indeed if you press the left stick accidentally while driving the car is reset. Too bad, but if you go into the menu under "controls" you can reassign the resetting function to another button and the problem is sorted!

How does it drive on a keyboard?
Outdated comment, but here it is. I play for two years or so, and I push for top10 times on leaderboards with keyboard, as well as some other players, however there's still a little handicap against controller, and you have to tap A LOT.
I like it but I wish you could turn the spectators off

Fun fact this game is way more fun than Dirt 5, I hated that game, the commentary makes you want to wear your socks in your ears it's awful, art of rally is pure joy n fun, the opposite of dirt 5
I agree, I had a feeling I wouldn't enjoy the game but tried it anyway. I don't mind the commentary but the physics are just so floaty and detached. I don't really feel like I'm driving a car in dirt 5
The gameplay is not fun...just a bit frustrating. Fortunately, it was free on Epic, so I didn't waste any money.
I think its awesome, I like the trackmania games as well. Love the seat of your pants style driving games
@@straightouttacornwall It's not for me...with the free games from epic, I try them all ( I mess around with Unreal 5 and Unity so like to see what's happening ) and my golden rule is 'Gameplay', it doesn't matter about the visuals, if the gameplay sucks or is frustrating, it's in the bin. This applies to indie through to AAA.
