A showcase would be welcomed, but I'm not going to lose sleep if there isn't. If nothing drops for ps5 I will either play destiny 2 new expansion or jump across to the xsx and be disappointed with their next game 😂.

I think a State of Play is more likely than a Showcase.
This is starting to point to nothing happening as Sony will show off a game or 2 at Summer Games Fest instead
I don’t get what they could even show that would warrant a showcase. SH2,Concord and MGS Delta don’t exactly scream showcase. Even if they did announce GOT2 that isn’t really a top tier game either. It would be cool and all but they would need some heavy hitters like Naughty Dog or Santa Monica to show up and neither of those studios will have anything till next Gen
@jacobross735 You would think that but that's not a good thing for PS5. That would basically end PS5 life cycle early and that's far from the truth. PS6 isn't launching until 2028 at the earliest

@@JShugz you gotta remember Naughty Dog just wasted years of development time and resources on factions so they’re probably at the beginning stages of production on their new game. Plus Santa Monica released Ragnarok less than 2 years and a DLC not too long ago. Games take an average of 7 years to make now at the bare minimum most longer so I really do doubt we will see a new game from either studio this gen. I think Sony knows that too and that’s why they’ve had Naughty Dog work on smaller projects like TLOU remake and TLOU 2 remastered. Basically some filler to tie the fans over and make money off of the success of the TV show

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s only ever been one showcase in September. Truthfully speaking I’m not expecting a showcase now and most likely there won’t be one until next year if it doesn’t happen this summer. Same as with 2022.

I hope we get a Showcase. We don't have almost any information on the next wave of PS5 games post-Stellar Blade. Concord is vaguely set for a 2024 release. Wolverine and Death Stranding 2 are both fall 2025 games, at the earliest. Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will be sometime between 2027 and 2028. After that, there's literally nothing. It's time to show what's next. Though, knowing Sony, I would not be surprised at all if there is no showcase.

I don’t think they have anything this gen honestly. Sony shit the bed and we won’t see anything from ND or Santa Monica until the next gen of consoles. I think that’s why they have been so quiet

@@jacobross735 Well, we are 4 years into the generation. People seem to forget it took about this long for Sony’s heavy hitters to release on PS4. 2013-2016 was pretty barren for first part releases: Killzone Shadowfall was a launch title and Infamous Second Son released in early 2014, neither of those were system sellers. The Order 1886 flopped. Uncharted 4 was their big first party game and that was 3 years into the console’s life cycle (like Spider-Man 2). We got Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017 (Sony’s biggest ever new IP). 2018 is when the PS4 started really hitting its stride with Spider-Man and God of War. So, people think this generation is the weakest ever, but I’d argue that the only difference between this generation and the last is that Sony has been way more tight-lipped about their plans.

ND just wasted years of development time and resources on factions which was only just cancelled months ago. Neil also said he won’t be showing his next game off until it’s closer to release unlike he did with TLOU 2 announcing it years in advance. As for SM they literally just released Ragnarok less than 2 years ago..
I don't see a showcase happening since Sony said they aren't launching any big 1st parties this year.
I think Sony just gonna do another state of play with some not anticipated games and more indie projects so not expecting tbh simply because don’t want be disappointed.

As soon as MS announced a June 8 event for them I already knew Sony would wait until after, because they have to have the last word.

@@fireballs7346 Lol…Sony already won this gen and they haven’t even gotten warmed up yet. My guess is Xbox will wait until after the holidays to announce that they are sunsetting all hardware operations (as they’re now looking to acquire Steam) and the Switch 2 may very likely share the same fate as the Wii U without another crazy form factor switch gimmick.

I'm sorry but I don't care about Concord. Another possible garbage GaaS game that will likely get shut down in 6-12 months. I hope they have a Showcase because we know NOTHING about what's coming to PlayStation the rest of this year outside of some third party and indie games and that's not good enough if you ask me and it's a TERRIBLE look.

returnal, Horizon 2 DLC, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Spider-Man 2, Stellar Blade, ff16. ff ribirt, Ronin, asto bot which is a f2p game that already gives you the PlayStation 5, mmmh I would say that the games are there if you can you are out of money I'm sorry, yes there are also God of war Ragnarok and Horizon 2 and the last of US which can be played on PlayStation 4 but can also run on PS 5, find out more before saying false things
