It’s a Michael Jordan reaction video bug, I guess. Don’t worry. I’ll move on to a Simone Biles, or Fedor Emelianko reaction video kick, or some such. This dude mastered fundamentals. Beyond mastered. The footwork is beautiful. His all around awareness of every player and how they play, he already knew how to beat you flying to your state to whip your ass. You dont see this anymore. Nobody cares about the fundamentals anymore. That's what made great players stand out. Now everybody on the team gets to shoot from 3 land. They need to go back to this style of play. The fundamentals are what makes all these young kids say things like man I'm sweating watching this or I wanna get out there and play again. It's his fundamentals that stand out. He beat you without traveling (lebron) he beat you without flopping (lebron). He beat you without crying (lebron). And it helps to have a 48 inch vertical and palm the basketball like your out picking apples from the tree.

Mike is the most complete basketball player I've ever seen. He played at a time when players had a position and a role on the team. This wasn't position- less basketball. Jordan could pass with the best of them, but his position was SG. And before they started moving the goalpost to accommodate current players the "man" was the person who scored the points and you could count on to win the game for you.

Michael jeffrey jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time, The man was the averaging 200 dunks a season in his prime and ran a 4:38 fourty yard dash. This guy Was truly A video game character come to life.🐐🐐23

    • @AnHebrewChild
      @AnHebrewChild Год назад +4

He ran a 4.38 forty in 1983 at UNC. He was at his fastest, however, in the 1989-90 season. That is without a doubt the apex year of Jordan's _speed._ He was 26-27 years old.
And this fact shouldn't surprise anyone: traditionally, Olympic 100M sprinters reach their peak athleticism between 25 and 28 years old.
Watch 1990 playoff footage vs the sixers & bucks. This was a healthy Jordan at his absolute speediest. His 40 at that time was likely 4.2 - 4.23
It's surprising to me how many people think he was faster & more athletic as a rookie. Watch his FT line dunk improvements from 1985, 1987, 1988 and then finally his FT line dunks at charity events from 89-91. In a 1990 charity event for Magic, Jordan was true to the line (like he was as a rookie, but had the flare and leg kick at least as smooth as 88).

I grew up watching Jordan and the man literally changed the game of basketball. The game was SO much more physical in the 80s & 90s. A lot people nowadays don’t even realize that he was one of the best defensive players as well. When he came into the league you could see how much faster he was than everyone else on the court. If you watch clips of games in his rookie season you can see that he was already playing on a different level. Everyone else on the court looked as though they were playing in slow motion compared to Jordan.
I stopped watching the NBA in the early 2000’s as it’s “soft” compared to the game of the 80s & 90s. You breathe on a guy and they blow the whistle for a foul. There’s zero defense. They’ve watered the game down so much that I find it unwatchable. It doesn’t compare to the rivalries of Bulls/Pistons, Pacers with Reggie Miller, Knicks with Ewing, etc. etc. Forgive my rant but the game just isn’t the same anymore.

When being interviewed, Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars of the Detroit Pistons aka The Bad Boyz…said that MJ averaged 37 points against them back in the day when they double teamed him down court, and some days MJ would get “hot”…meaning he’d score more than 37pts…imagine the amount of physical abuse they inflicted on MJ and yet he still averaged almost 40 pts per game during those 4 seasons of going head to head in the playoffs…I’m convinced there will never be another like MJ for a really long time…. If there is and that player can match or surpass what MJ did in 13 full seasons, then someone needs to check that player’s DNA because there’s a strong chance that they won’t be human….✌️👽🔥🎤

MJ: “I’m not out here campaigning to the best! I’m not saying that! People play different in every era.”
Lebron: “If that doesn’t make me the best I don’t know what does.”
And this is why people hate on Lebron.
Also, people jumped with MJ cause it was a different era and egos were significantly different. “You may dunk on me, but I’m giving you everything I got anyway.” These dudes had thick skin. Another reason it was so much more competitive in those eras in all sports imo.

He retired after his father was murdered. Dad always wanted him to be a baseball player, so that what he did as homage to his dad and to work through his grief. Then he came back and won 3 more. MVP of all 6 finals wins. Did not have to travel to be great (labron) and he was never hurt (once minor foot in second yr). He played sick and won.. NBA defensive player of the year 1987-88. Check out the old Spike Lee Nike commericals....Money its gotta be the shoes !

Really appreciate you really watching, b/c you paused after that no look layup and most just keep going as if they see that every night. He does it a few more times in this vid also. He was insane, if Magic wasn't already a nickname taken, it would have been his b/c the ish he did was crazy.
Bird didn't beat MJ hell, to paraphrase Bird, that wasn't MJ out there, that was Jesus. One of the greatest teams ever assembled beat MJ and a Bulls team that wasn't ready to compete at that level. Pistons to beat him, had to literally try and take him, and other top stars, out of the game via physical play so out of line w/the rest of the league the rules were changed. btw, hated Bird back in the day, but it was for the same reason people hate MJ, he was just that damn good. You knew if he had the ball in his hands at the end of the game w/a shot to win it was likely over for your team.
I wish they had kept the cut of Daly after MJ did that 180 no look layup over Laimbeer, he just face palmed, like how do you stop that?!?
What made MJ so hard to guard is that he was capable of taking a shot at anytime from anywhere on the floor. That hesi you pointed out is b/c the guy thought he was going to drive to the hope, instead he cut made him run into the other defender for a little mid range. If you chose to guard him tight, he would go to the basket b/c he was faster than you, if you laid off preventing the drive, he just hit a mid range or 3. He let the opponent choose their death like he was Gozer the Gozerian.
After every Bulls games that were on during the day, I went right out to the court to play basketball. He was inspiring.
That season w/the high assists, I think is when they lost their PG and they weren't winning so they decided to have MJ play the point, I think he averaged a triple double, or really close, but they lost a good portion of those games and back slid into the playoffs. He never played point again, the team was just better when he was scoring and the def had to base everything on trying to stop him.
Credit to Bird and Magic, they saved the league, we don't have the MJ highlights if the league was still on tape delay w/no one watching if not for them. Credit to Kobe and Lebron, b/c w/out them who knows how much worse the ratings are after MJ retired. But the MJ had their peak in the 90s b/c of MJ and the Bulls were must watch all over the country.

I do remember Mutombo blocking him a couple times, alonzo Mourning got him a few times, and shaq gave him trouble around the rim too but in jordans defense he did dunk on all 3 of those guys. Mourning got it more than the other 2 guys tho.
