At this point EA/the gurus need to make an official announcement where they acknowledge the issues. This is ridiculous. Even for those of us who got most of the packs on sale, we still paid an absurd amount for a game that breaks with every new content drop.

Same here. Honestly I uninstalled the sims 4 when they added the shopping cart to the freaking UI and have been happily playing 3 since. No plans to go back at this point
I’ve definitely noticed the holiday bug. I had three characters get the holiday notification but my fourth character didn’t. I’ve also noticed the cooking issue, where the sims will just stop cooking without me telling them to but when I ask them resume the cooking they usually do. I’ve noticed my sims walking through objects too. Like the counters, couches and other objects.

So the recent patches supposedly fixed the holiday bug (I don’t have seasons, so can’t confirm) but introduced so many other bugs you may want to wait anyway 🤷🏼♀️
Do you just play in offline mode or not play at all? I couldn’t find a way to turn off automatic updates only change it to “only update when game launches” instead of immediately. Not sure I can play in offline mode cuz I have some dlc on steam and some from the ea app. If there was a way to not update id like to know about it! This is crazy how glitchy things are really after every update but especially this one.
@WhisperTraining Yes I play offline. If you go in the EA app settings, you can select "Play offline" Additionally you can turn off automatic updates in the app so that way the game won't update until it prompts to manually update
Honestly I never imagined a patch for a STUFF PACK could cause this much chaos. I’ve been playing for four years and this is new to me but in the future I will for sure be waiting a week to update
I try not to update until I need to coz it always breaks my game 🤦🏻♀️My game crashed 4 times in one day last week-but tbh my game isn’t running too bad now ..I have all the packs-apart from the new one(I’ll wait until that is fixed) 😂And a lot of cc and my game does get a bit glitchy -but I can play around certain glitches .Instead of throwing new stuff into the game-they should concentrate on fixing things .
I had the moodlets disappearing issue and was so upset, theres literally no point in playing the game with that bug. Luckily I saw another youtuber mention that turbodriver came out with a mod that fixes this. I put it in my game and all my moodlets reappeared, it completely fixed the problem Very sad that a modder was able to fix this in just a couple days while EA still hasnt acknowledged it. Highly recommend the TurboDriver Crystal Creations Buff Fix mod to at least make your game playable for now if you have this bug!!
The LAG AND CRASHING soon as i load in theres an exception even though i updated every mod even took it out so ima repair it heavy on the 4 hour loading and saving i have went to sleep woke up its still saving and loading
I lost my favorite save, the game crashed when I tried to open it over and over till I gave up and deleted it :( it has also been freezing on the picker menu when trying to cook. You're right, I'm not buying the crystal creations pack till these bugs are fixed. I've never pirated the game but at this point I can see why people do. I have almost all the packs and my game has been nearly unplayable since the update.
If you wait a year or so and THEN repair your game, you may get your save uncorrupt for some weird reason. I went back to watch Sims4 when I heard the Horse Ranch update was causing glitches and noticed that it was some how repaired despite all my repair attempts in the past.
Why do I seem to be the only person having random fires break out?! It's so irritating. I'm spending so much money to replace objects because for whatever reason my lights or the planters or counters decide to spontaneously combust. I can't take it.
I noticed that after I got For Rent. I had a decoration of flowers spontaneously combust - I still don't know what was going on there. Thankfully, I have not noticed it for a while.
I've had random fires too. In the years I've played the sims, I've never had a fire in the roof. I had to wait for it to burn out because none of my sims could get to it, then I had another sim I was going to use for my legacy, catch on fire and die in front of the fireplace. I've never had issues with my sims catching on fire and if they did, I've always been able to put them out. I couldn't put her out.

HUGE shout out to Turbo for coming up with the moodlet fix. Downloaded his mod and all my moodlets are there when I launch my game. I am one of the lucky ones. I don’t own For Rent and Crystal Creations and I’ve been able to play with some issues but nothing too terrible. Some mods are still having some issues like the locking doors mod.
Has it ever been this badly broken before? I feel like every new pack comes with a game breaking update. Also, a quick helpful tip: Make sure to clear cache from the Sims 4 folder and as well as the EA App, Origin, or Steam (wherever you play the Sims 4 at). Also, make an entire backup of your Sims 4 folder and then on the EA App (or wherever you play it) and click "Repair". (If you have the EA App) Just click on the game, click manage, and then Repair. Hope this helps anyone that's been having issues!
The problem I’ve been experiencing is just how laggy the game has been and I don’t mean just a little bit of lag. It is absolutely horrendous how terrible the lag is for me. Performing the simplest of interactions such as going to the bathroom or cooking a meal takes like a minimum of 2 minutes to complete with me attempting to speed it up on x3 speed as well. And don’t even get me started on performing any type of social interaction with another sim. It probably takes around 5 minutes just to say a few things to one sim I’m not even joking. This problem has made my game practically unplayable and idk what the problem is, I just want it fixed pronto!
Oh snap, I've been seeing some of these bugs too but didn't realize they were bugs. I just thing i was doing something wrong. I had the problem of not being able to move in my sims without freezing, and having to force quit. I had a glitch where I'm stuck in loading screen while leaving build mode to go to manage worlds. I've noticed some child sims faces looking squished beyond sense. And i don't have the shopping cart at all in my ui, though I'm not bothered by that.
I'm so scared to even attempt live mode right now. I've been sticking with building for now, so far no problems. I really wanted to get the new stuff pack because I'm obsessed with handmade jewelry and crystals in real life, but I'm worried it will break my game more. I haven't played with mods in months 😭 I hope there will be a fix for things soon! I want to play my legacy so bad!
Ive been having a bug with my plants where some of them are just unable to be weeded, sprayed, watered, anything! Even if the plant clearly has weeds and needs water, the option just doesn't show up and I have to use cheats to fix them.
Yes! I LOVE that you are talking about the poor state of this game. It breaks my heart too. I don't dare to fully play my game since For Rent came out. The serious issues with that Pack are still there but I have the feeling that very few people are talking about them anymore, because other bugs came along. But the For Rent Bugs are so bad and very risky! Even if you avoid the main gameplay features of the pack and never place or play in a rental, you could still corrupt your game through a corrupted build from the gallery! And that risky build could be any lot type, if it was build on a previously broken Residential Rental lot. So since December the Gallery could be full of potential game breaking lots like normal Residential Houses, Restaurants, Parks ect. and people are downloading them and then having problems in their game. In my opinion this is a very concerning issue, but I feel nobody is talking about this. I'm too scared to place anything thats been shared in the gallery since December, so many, many lovely newer builds I just can't use. And that makes me sad, because it is a big loss for me. The gallery used to give me great ideas for Gameplay and made my game in general more fun. But now it does not feel like a save space anymore. Since no one talks about this I don't expect it to be fixed. :'(
After updating all my mods, my game is running better than ever. HOWEVER, all my saves are broken! My game crashes if I try to load a save pre-Crystal update. So many hours down the drain 😭
FUUUUUUUUU are you serious? I was in the final stages of setting up my Medieval save when the update dropped and haven’t touched it since out of fear. I’ll rage quit if it ends up corrupted.
Like everyone else im having loads of problems, my biggest is the ui, even when I've taken all my mods out I can't see their work details, their traits, or their needs. The gardening has been buggy for years but now its ridiculous. Cant weed any plants, can't evolve anything, can't harvest anything, so whats the point? My game is crashing constantly too. Makes me wonder why I bother with it anymore, I've spent so much time and money on this game since sims 1 was released but honestly, its never been this bad. As soon as Paralives drops im gone. Until then, ill play the better game- sims 3
Yeah. I wrote my issues on Answers HQ, and I get trolled by crinrict. My issue in question is the bills not being in the mail, not being able to pay said bills, power goes out. You wanna know what crinrict said? He said, "Did you have a warning about squirrels ?" And this message was from a professional Community Manager.
This is not a good sign for E.A. Especially when they hope to launch TS5 by next year. For other competing companies, it will be a wakeup call to make sure their products don't meet a similar fate.
i had such weird glitches. i updated my game not knowing that this update was breaking people’s games. once i loaded into my game, my sims’ floor (all base game floor) were covered with question marks. then my sim was covered with the question mark broken cc thing. i took off all of my cc, and she was still covered with the question marks. i went to manage worlds to see if she was the only sim with this glitch, and i realized that on the maps all of my base game worlds just weren’t on the map. i repaired the game, and that fixed everything. however, this took me DAYS to figure out. this is absolutely unacceptable🙄 as someone with over 20 generations, i am so scared this update might corrupt my save file :/
weed plant action has been broken for some time at least 6 months, I became a spell caster just so i can weed my plants! The Gardner even takes forever to weed!!
You know what - I'm a just do this. I've already uninstalled the Sims 4, and I see that I can still buy Sims 3 content. I only ever had Sims 3 on my Xbox, and that was a whole lot of fun along with the Sims 2 on PC (Which I no longer have/ gave it away after getting PCs with no disk slots in them). I'm a just get the Sims 3, buy a couple of packs I think I'll like, and just wait until one of those other Life Simulator games release in 2025.
I got the problem where I'd try to load a household and it would either immediately kick me back to pick neighborhood or infinite loading screen too! So I spent all afternoon checking all my mods by removing them chunks at a time after I found out that it was indeed due to a mod (I removed the entire folder first to check) and I found out it was a interactive cookbook core mod. This is the chance we take by using mods i'm just happy I found the cause 😊
My sim just doesnt want to interact with anyone and I cannot even click on them or computer interactions don’t work completely. i honestly feel so sad bc the sims are the only thing that can calm me down and i use it to relax but it’s so boring without my sims being able to interact..
So, can’t wash dishes via sink. Dishwasher works. Gallery freezes on me if I try to place a different build onto a lot. Moodlets but got a fix from turbo driver. Praise him. And maybe more that I’m not aware of as of right now.
I live internationally, so I did not see any of the issues with the update until I had already opened my game and tried to play my legacy save. My save would not open at all beyond the home screen. So I tried to recover a previous save and it reverted my YA to early Teen years. To make matters worst, I couldn't go to the world map or travel. I had considered to continue playing the save filed but due to so many bugs yet again I have to start all over with another legacy family. This is the fifth time I have had to start an all new legacy play since buying the game in 2017. One of my legacies was broken during the Wolf expansion pack and I was on Generation 26 😭😭.
What is it going to take for EA/Maxis to fix the mountian of problems the game has? I feel like they've brushed so much aside that the bugs that have been happening for a long time is probably part of the reason the game is so broken... They keep trying to shine up a pile of shit, it's not a dimaond in the rough, it's a shit show..
I haven't bought Crystal Creations and I haven't had time to update either. I suppose I can just figure out how to play offline, but if even that's not working for people, maybe I'll just play Sims 1 and 2 and avoid Sims 4 until they pull their heads out of it. I held off buying the stuff pack because of their track record. I wanted to see if it was going to be yet another pack that would be released broken. I'm not buying any more DLC from them. I won't spend my hard earned money on content that is unplayable. I'm done. At this point I'm waiting for the upcoming Sims competitors, but really, I'm still not holding my breath with those either. I think life sims have turned me cynical, but I still love watching Sims videos :)
im so mad because my game lately just been super glitchy, i cant travel without my game crashing can move people into my household and a bunch of other random bugs, this is honestly disappointing…
My mods sub folders are sitting on my desktop , I haven't even opened up the sims 4 sense the update been too scared too. I spend a long time on my sims and I'd probably cry if the new update glitched them out after the hours I spend on them! I didn't buy the crystal creation pack it looked interesting but with how broken the packs have been I have been not wanting to buy them when they first release. This level of broken is ridiculous though I'm not surprised but I am disappointed someone Ea etc. needs to say SOMETHING and fix this! This game should be at least at the bare minimum playable! At this rate as a programmer myself I seriously doubt they tested anything with this pack tbh. Btw before this update I did have some household disappear too! It wasn't because of mods I don't play with neighborhood stories and when I was in game I saw one of the households that disappeared walking around but I still couldn't find them in the main or other households. I agree with not buying any packs for a while if anything is gonna push them to fix this game its that.

I haven’t updated my game since downloading for rent and I’m so thankful for that. I’ve been playing TS2 primarily lately, but when I’ve played TS4, the only problem I’ve noticed is really bad lagging (which is not abnormal)
at what point do we have legal ramifications for false advertisement from EA. We are advertised functioning packs, and they haven't been fixed in years. we were advertised refreshes and people purchased based on those promises and they stopped with spa day. They made so many promises that we have to have something we can do more then boycotting.
Endless loading screen on one family this happened to me. Could be the passionate jewerly mod broken with attachement to one sim. I loaded the family up in create a sims from the map view and it loaded family, but I removed that mod and it said, some items have been removed. Then I loaded in and it worked, but took a really long time. I may replace the one sim what was gifted jewerly from this mod from a previous save from her before to fix the loading times. In another save family loads fast/fine.
Ever since I bought for rent pack on my Xbox I came across 2 bug and slow lag... First bug: Can't put traits into rent lot's because it won't let me... Second bug: When I put the mount of people and price for my landlord for the rent lot the price changes when I switch household... Also in for rent pack my Xbox game play is so slow to point that it's unplayable or sometimes crashes. This why I am thinking of unstalling the rent pack in my Xbox game and not buy any new game packs again from sims until they really do fix things.
My game has been crashing while I’m on the gallery for a bit, whether it be a sim or a build I try and download. It’s super frustrating. I do have mods in but not a lot all updated and I also know for a fact none I have wld be affecting that.
I tried building a rental recently like little townhouses and it wouldn’t let me it let me put it as a rental but wouldn’t mark them as individual townhouses
Even me the for rent pack is so bugy and its now bugging to a point that ur sim cant enter an empty appartment and upgrade any items meaning thy just glitch ans say something is in the way when i have removed all the decor and still the pain on the wall disapears and my sim is stuck unable to entwr the empty apartment and thy own the lot to so this is really sucks cz the flats i built were gorgeous now i cant play it ive decided to play thw sims 3 for now till they fix the sims 4. Im just very sad abput it 😔

I’ve had my game loaded and working on my laptop for a week now without exiting bc I am sooo not looking forward to new bugs and updating the game and all my mods lol ugh I was getting the constant fires starting too, and found it was only on updated toilets or items. The weeds not disappearing actually resolved, that was from a mod needing update I thought. I’m sadly getting tired of all the work this game needs to play, and it’s not giving the pay off of enjoyment anymore imo
Speaking of these, mine was glitching. Like, those icons (house floor icon, wall icon, tools icon, manage world icon, gallery icon, the 3 dots, etc.) on the upper right corner. Not just on build mode, but also on live mode and manage world. Even after restarting the game it still stays on glitch. I can use the keyboards if I want half walls, or if I want to go to the upper floor, yes. But it annoys me seeing those glitches. AND IT IS NOT EVEN BECAUSE I HAVE 6K+ mods with CCs, okay? It's not the problem here. My game started glitching icons after updating it past week. 😡
I haven’t seriously played since the update. I had two mods, and I had issues with relationship/woohoo interactions. I thought it was the mod, but other people apparently have the same problem. I was in the game and it just jumped back to a previous save. It was like everything I did disappeared. I just make new mods folders when major updates happen. For me, It makes things so much easier
I have not updated my game since before Crystal creations. And I have noticed the random holidays. On the same house too one Sim will have the holiday while the other won't 🤷🏼♀️ Also with limiting my mods that would be great😊 But the game is so icky I need every one of them lol and I have a ton, Oh my gosh it's not even funny how many I have. I think it's the update in general, so I'd recommend just playing in offline mode. I haven't updated since I bought the Medieval Castle Kit and I'm gonna hold off on updating and getting new content until the major issues are fixed.
It was the update, the problems started being reported after the update. The update preps the game for the DLC but the bug problems can occur with or without you getting the new DLC.
It’s been confirmed by modders that it’s the latest update so regardless if you have or haven’t purchased the new pack you’ll have these bugs if you updated last Tuesday 😢😢
I have that glitch where I will move in sims and it will crash I also have it where I play and start building and it crashes I also have the glitch where everyone has no wohoo interest
At this point, when I could get a refund, I would take the money and run. Sad because I used to love the game, well other Game maker have nice games too. I don't eat cereal for dinner and I don't buy more from EA till they get their akt together.
I do something similar to your 50/50 method to check my mods. I put 3 folders on my desktop and name them "Mods to Test", "Tested Good", and "Retest". I move all the mods from the Sims 4 mods folder to "Mods to Test" then add 25 of them at a time back into the Sims 4 mods. If they are good, move them in the "Tested Good" folder. If there's a bad batch, put them in the "Retest" folder. After all the Mods to Test have been tested, go back to the "Retest" folder and recheck those maybe 5 or 10 at a time until you find the ones that need to be updated/fixed/etc. Have you done, or thought of doing, a video on different ways to clean up/check your mods (or something along those lines)?
My game is not buggy anymore, yay! Instead, it crashes after 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay (I play in a brand new save without any mod)... I stopped playing, I consider deinstalling the game again, but I won't reinstall it this time...
This last patch ruined everything.. 2 hours before i updated the game everything worked fine but after updating the game and also updating my mods folder, the social pie menu takes ca. 5 secs to appear.. im playing with less mods than before the update.. plus on a highend laptop so this pc specs shouldnt be the problem.. and even a new safe file couldnt fix this... this is drivin me insane.. i just wanted to play in peace but cant seem to figure it out how to solve it 😢.. they broke everything....
My game crashing a lot been happening since the release of Eco Lifestyle back in 2020. With the recent update my game doesn’t crash as bad as before but I can’t set up the rent prizes for residential rentals.
completely uninstalled sims 4. probably not coming back any time soon. when 4 rent came out, and the initial game corruption issues hit, i got hit hard. lost 2 of my main saves. one of which, i've been working on for a few years now... not amused. prior to losing my stuff, was willing to look past the 4+mil apartments.. was saddened by it cause wanted my not so berry sim at the time to live in one with family next to her. that didn't happen. instead - shortly after the apartment was built, the whole save became corrupted. next, came to the other save to be broken. even without mods, it broke. just.. done. ea at this point see us as nothing more than sacks of money. they've essentially became mr. krabbs.. we're their free testers, that's it. done. moved onto skyrim (got a sweetheart of a blue khajiit to travel with anyway).

The sims is broken aswell, I can’t see the name for Henford-On-Bagley aka the cottage core world, I literally haven’t been able to see the name of that world in game. I’ve redownloaded the sims 4 & repaired it. I’ve removed all mods and ran it without mods- still can’t see the name of the world. someone send help
Not trying brag at all. But oh man. I'm so glad that my game is not broken. I do have a UI glitch but it's a mod I haven't bothered to figure out whitch one yet. Weirdest glitch I've been getting is sometimes in build mode I'll place an item and it just disappears. I have to close and reopen my game to fix it.
I don't have any weird glitches or problems BUT my game just crashes unexpectedly! No mods, but post update. Also my option to turn on mods in options is greyed out
I only own a few packs, definitely not crystal creations. All mods fully up to date as of the day the update came out. And whenever I try to load a new worlds (including brand new worlds I made after the update dropped) and the game goes to the world section screen. I can pick a world, pick a family, load, and then back to world selection screen. I've tried removing all mods, and it works. Try adding them back and testing one-by-one, and it breaks no matter which mod. Even just the community library breaks it. I heard one user say that any mod that adds or edit scripts breaks it. It will probably work if I downgrade the game. To what it was before the update. Just haven't had the time and I have crappy internet cause I live in the country. So that would take a while for me. Plus I only have 100gb a month...
I doubt that many modders, if any at all, have managed to update their mods mere hours after the new patch. Re-downloading a mod after an update doesn’t mean the mod itself has been updated. They usually need a few days to fix it. You’ll have to check the mod notes for the compatible game version.
My cafe couldn't even work with get to work cause they are adjusting my graphics every 10 mins and hella slow and I'm like why you doing this and I have ps4 so i can't adjust the graphics low it's honestly ridiculous and can't do my master chef aspiration 😢 those are my issue and I have a story to my sims so I can't even story tell for my enjoyment 😴😩 Props take a huge break chill on dreamlight untill this game is fixed ❤

I got the seasons pack and they fixed that bug

Do you just play in offline mode or not play at all? I couldn’t find a way to turn off automatic updates only change it to “only update when game launches” instead of immediately. Not sure I can play in offline mode cuz I have some dlc on steam and some from the ea app. If there was a way to not update id like to know about it! This is crazy how glitchy things are really after every update but especially this one.
@WhisperTraining Yes I play offline. If you go in the EA app settings, you can select "Play offline" Additionally you can turn off automatic updates in the app so that way the game won't update until it prompts to manually update

Honestly I never imagined a patch for a STUFF PACK could cause this much chaos. I’ve been playing for four years and this is new to me but in the future I will for sure be waiting a week to update
I try not to update until I need to coz it always breaks my game 🤦🏻♀️My game crashed 4 times in one day last week-but tbh my game isn’t running too bad now ..I have all the packs-apart from the new one(I’ll wait until that is fixed) 😂And a lot of cc and my game does get a bit glitchy -but I can play around certain glitches .Instead of throwing new stuff into the game-they should concentrate on fixing things .
The fact that they had the gall to advertise cheap jewelry while my game crashes says a whole lot about what’s wrong with The Sims as a whole.
I had the moodlets disappearing issue and was so upset, theres literally no point in playing the game with that bug. Luckily I saw another youtuber mention that turbodriver came out with a mod that fixes this. I put it in my game and all my moodlets reappeared, it completely fixed the problem
Very sad that a modder was able to fix this in just a couple days while EA still hasnt acknowledged it. Highly recommend the TurboDriver Crystal Creations Buff Fix mod to at least make your game playable for now if you have this bug!!
They really need to just take a break and fix all the bugs and such.I Haven played in over a week so I'm not sure what's going on.
The LAG AND CRASHING soon as i load in theres an exception even though i updated every mod even took it out so ima repair it heavy on the 4 hour loading and saving i have went to sleep woke up its still saving and loading

I lost my favorite save, the game crashed when I tried to open it over and over till I gave up and deleted it :( it has also been freezing on the picker menu when trying to cook. You're right, I'm not buying the crystal creations pack till these bugs are fixed. I've never pirated the game but at this point I can see why people do. I have almost all the packs and my game has been nearly unplayable since the update.
If you wait a year or so and THEN repair your game, you may get your save uncorrupt for some weird reason.
I went back to watch Sims4 when I heard the Horse Ranch update was causing glitches and noticed that it was some how repaired despite all my repair attempts in the past.
Thankfully I've seen more and more game changers speaking up about the current state of TS4. Hopefully some of the BIG ones will jump on board too!

Why do I seem to be the only person having random fires break out?! It's so irritating. I'm spending so much money to replace objects because for whatever reason my lights or the planters or counters decide to spontaneously combust. I can't take it.
I had that too, do you have "cursed" lot challenge enabled by any chance?
I noticed that after I got For Rent. I had a decoration of flowers spontaneously combust - I still don't know what was going on there. Thankfully, I have not noticed it for a while.

I've had random fires too. In the years I've played the sims, I've never had a fire in the roof. I had to wait for it to burn out because none of my sims could get to it, then I had another sim I was going to use for my legacy, catch on fire and die in front of the fireplace. I've never had issues with my sims catching on fire and if they did, I've always been able to put them out. I couldn't put her out.

HUGE shout out to Turbo for coming up with the moodlet fix. Downloaded his mod and all my moodlets are there when I launch my game. I am one of the lucky ones. I don’t own For Rent and Crystal Creations and I’ve been able to play with some issues but nothing too terrible. Some mods are still having some issues like the locking doors mod.
Has it ever been this badly broken before? I feel like every new pack comes with a game breaking update.
Also, a quick helpful tip:
Make sure to clear cache from the Sims 4 folder and as well as the EA App, Origin, or Steam (wherever you play the Sims 4 at). Also, make an entire backup of your Sims 4 folder and then on the EA App (or wherever you play it) and click "Repair". (If you have the EA App) Just click on the game, click manage, and then Repair. Hope this helps anyone that's been having issues!

The problem I’ve been experiencing is just how laggy the game has been and I don’t mean just a little bit of lag. It is absolutely horrendous how terrible the lag is for me. Performing the simplest of interactions such as going to the bathroom or cooking a meal takes like a minimum of 2 minutes to complete with me attempting to speed it up on x3 speed as well. And don’t even get me started on performing any type of social interaction with another sim. It probably takes around 5 minutes just to say a few things to one sim I’m not even joking. This problem has made my game practically unplayable and idk what the problem is, I just want it fixed pronto!
Oh snap, I've been seeing some of these bugs too but didn't realize they were bugs. I just thing i was doing something wrong. I had the problem of not being able to move in my sims without freezing, and having to force quit. I had a glitch where I'm stuck in loading screen while leaving build mode to go to manage worlds. I've noticed some child sims faces looking squished beyond sense. And i don't have the shopping cart at all in my ui, though I'm not bothered by that.
I'm so scared to even attempt live mode right now. I've been sticking with building for now, so far no problems. I really wanted to get the new stuff pack because I'm obsessed with handmade jewelry and crystals in real life, but I'm worried it will break my game more. I haven't played with mods in months 😭 I hope there will be a fix for things soon! I want to play my legacy so bad!
Ive been having a bug with my plants where some of them are just unable to be weeded, sprayed, watered, anything! Even if the plant clearly has weeds and needs water, the option just doesn't show up and I have to use cheats to fix them.
Yes! I LOVE that you are talking about the poor state of this game. It breaks my heart too. I don't dare to fully play my game since For Rent came out. The serious issues with that Pack are still there but I have the feeling that very few people are talking about them anymore, because other bugs came along. But the For Rent Bugs are so bad and very risky! Even if you avoid the main gameplay features of the pack and never place or play in a rental, you could still corrupt your game through a corrupted build from the gallery! And that risky build could be any lot type, if it was build on a previously broken Residential Rental lot.
So since December the Gallery could be full of potential game breaking lots like normal Residential Houses, Restaurants, Parks ect. and people are downloading them and then having problems in their game.
In my opinion this is a very concerning issue, but I feel nobody is talking about this. I'm too scared to place anything thats been shared in the gallery since December, so many, many lovely newer builds I just can't use. And that makes me sad, because it is a big loss for me. The gallery used to give me great ideas for Gameplay and made my game in general more fun.
But now it does not feel like a save space anymore. Since no one talks about this I don't expect it to be fixed. :'(
After updating all my mods, my game is running better than ever. HOWEVER, all my saves are broken! My game crashes if I try to load a save pre-Crystal update. So many hours down the drain 😭

Like everyone else im having loads of problems, my biggest is the ui, even when I've taken all my mods out I can't see their work details, their traits, or their needs. The gardening has been buggy for years but now its ridiculous. Cant weed any plants, can't evolve anything, can't harvest anything, so whats the point? My game is crashing constantly too. Makes me wonder why I bother with it anymore, I've spent so much time and money on this game since sims 1 was released but honestly, its never been this bad. As soon as Paralives drops im gone. Until then, ill play the better game- sims 3

i had such weird glitches. i updated my game not knowing that this update was breaking people’s games. once i loaded into my game, my sims’ floor (all base game floor) were covered with question marks. then my sim was covered with the question mark broken cc thing. i took off all of my cc, and she was still covered with the question marks. i went to manage worlds to see if she was the only sim with this glitch, and i realized that on the maps all of my base game worlds just weren’t on the map. i repaired the game, and that fixed everything. however, this took me DAYS to figure out. this is absolutely unacceptable🙄 as someone with over 20 generations, i am so scared this update might corrupt my save file :/
weed plant action has been broken for some time at least 6 months, I became a spell caster just so i can weed my plants! The Gardner even takes forever to weed!!
You know what - I'm a just do this. I've already uninstalled the Sims 4, and I see that I can still buy Sims 3 content. I only ever had Sims 3 on my Xbox, and that was a whole lot of fun along with the Sims 2 on PC (Which I no longer have/ gave it away after getting PCs with no disk slots in them). I'm a just get the Sims 3, buy a couple of packs I think I'll like, and just wait until one of those other Life Simulator games release in 2025.
The sims 4 is broken for sure and been avoiding updating. I play offline now until the all clear. This makes me feel bad for console players.
I got the problem where I'd try to load a household and it would either immediately kick me back to pick neighborhood or infinite loading screen too! So I spent all afternoon checking all my mods by removing them chunks at a time after I found out that it was indeed due to a mod (I removed the entire folder first to check) and I found out it was a interactive cookbook core mod. This is the chance we take by using mods i'm just happy I found the cause 😊
My sim just doesnt want to interact with anyone and I cannot even click on them or computer interactions don’t work completely. i honestly feel so sad bc the sims are the only thing that can calm me down and i use it to relax but it’s so boring without my sims being able to interact..

So, can’t wash dishes via sink. Dishwasher works. Gallery freezes on me if I try to place a different build onto a lot. Moodlets but got a fix from turbo driver. Praise him. And maybe more that I’m not aware of as of right now.
I live internationally, so I did not see any of the issues with the update until I had already opened my game and tried to play my legacy save. My save would not open at all beyond the home screen. So I tried to recover a previous save and it reverted my YA to early Teen years. To make matters worst, I couldn't go to the world map or travel. I had considered to continue playing the save filed but due to so many bugs yet again I have to start all over with another legacy family. This is the fifth time I have had to start an all new legacy play since buying the game in 2017. One of my legacies was broken during the Wolf expansion pack and I was on Generation 26 😭😭.
My sims will just randomly stop moving and every time I make them do something they don’t do it
What is it going to take for EA/Maxis to fix the mountian of problems the game has? I have a bug that when two of my Sims woohoo it makes them despise each other……. It was funny at first, but now I’m just annoyed.
I haven't bought Crystal Creations and I haven't had time to update either. I suppose I can just figure out how to play offline, but if even that's not working for people, maybe I'll just play Sims 1 and 2 and avoid Sims 4 until they pull their heads out of it. I held off buying the stuff pack because of their track record. I wanted to see if it was going to be yet another pack that would be released broken. I'm not buying any more DLC from them. I won't spend my hard earned money on content that is unplayable. I'm done. At this point I'm waiting for the upcoming Sims competitors, but really, I'm still not holding my breath with those either. I think life sims have turned me cynical, but I still love watching Sims videos :)

My mods sub folders are sitting on my desktop , I haven't even opened up the sims 4 sense the update been too scared too. I spend a long time on my sims and I'd probably cry if the new update glitched them out after the hours I spend on them! I didn't buy the crystal creation pack it looked interesting but with how broken the packs have been I have been not wanting to buy them when they first release. This level of broken is ridiculous though I'm not surprised but I am disappointed someone Ea etc. needs to say SOMETHING and fix this! This game should be at least at the bare minimum playable! At this rate as a programmer myself I seriously doubt they tested anything with this pack tbh. Btw before this update I did have some household disappear too! It wasn't because of mods I don't play with neighborhood stories and when I was in game I saw one of the households that disappeared walking around but I still couldn't find them in the main or other households. I agree with not buying any packs for a while if anything is gonna push them to fix this game its that.

I haven’t updated my game since downloading for rent and I’m so thankful for that. I’ve been playing TS2 primarily lately, but when I’ve played TS4, the only problem I’ve noticed is really bad lagging (which is not abnormal)
Been doing the 50/50 for a long time. Once it came down to the last 10 out of 7k. It took hours. However my game was good to go when done.
at what point do we have legal ramifications for false advertisement from EA. We are advertised functioning packs, and they haven't been fixed in years. we were advertised refreshes and people purchased based on those promises and they stopped with spa day. They made so many promises that we have to have something we can do more then boycotting.
Endless loading screen on one family this happened to me. Could be the passionate jewerly mod broken with attachement to one sim. I loaded the family up in create a sims from the map view and it loaded family, but I removed that mod and it said, some items have been removed. Then I loaded in and it worked, but took a really long time. I may replace the one sim what was gifted jewerly from this mod from a previous save from her before to fix the loading times. In another save family loads fast/fine.

Ever since I bought for rent pack on my Xbox I came across 2 bug and slow lag... First bug: Can't put traits into rent lot's because it won't let me... Second bug: When I put the mount of people and price for my landlord for the rent lot the price changes when I switch household... Also in for rent pack my Xbox game play is so slow to point that it's unplayable or sometimes crashes. This why I am thinking of unstalling the rent pack in my Xbox game and not buy any new game packs again from sims until they really do fix things.
My game has been crashing while I’m on the gallery for a bit, whether it be a sim or a build I try and download. It’s super frustrating. I do have mods in but not a lot all updated and I also know for a fact none I have wld be affecting that.
I tried building a rental recently like little townhouses and it wouldn’t let me it let me put it as a rental but wouldn’t mark them as individual townhouses
Even me the for rent pack is so bugy and its now bugging to a point that ur sim cant enter an empty appartment and upgrade any items meaning thy just glitch ans say something is in the way when i have removed all the decor and still the pain on the wall disapears and my sim is stuck unable to entwr the empty apartment and thy own the lot to so this is really sucks cz the flats i built were gorgeous now i cant play it ive decided to play thw sims 3 for now till they fix the sims 4. Im just very sad abput it 😔

I’ve had my game loaded and working on my laptop for a week now without exiting bc I am sooo not looking forward to new bugs and updating the game and all my mods lol ugh I was getting the constant fires starting too, and found it was only on updated toilets or items. The weeds not disappearing actually resolved, that was from a mod needing update I thought. I’m sadly getting tired of all the work this game needs to play, and it’s not giving the pay off of enjoyment anymore imo
Speaking of these, mine was glitching. Like, those icons (house floor icon, wall icon, tools icon, manage world icon, gallery icon, the 3 dots, etc.) on the upper right corner. Not just on build mode, but also on live mode and manage world. Even after restarting the game it still stays on glitch. I can use the keyboards if I want half walls, or if I want to go to the upper floor, yes. But it annoys me seeing those glitches.
AND IT IS NOT EVEN BECAUSE I HAVE 6K+ mods with CCs, okay? It's not the problem here. My game started glitching icons after updating it past week. 😡
I haven’t seriously played since the update. I had two mods, and I had issues with relationship/woohoo interactions. I thought it was the mod, but other people apparently have the same problem. I was in the game and it just jumped back to a previous save. It was like everything I did disappeared.
I just make new mods folders when major updates happen. For me, It makes things so much easier
I have not updated my game since before Crystal creations. And I have noticed the random holidays. On the same house too one Sim will have the holiday while the other won't 🤷🏼♀️
Also with limiting my mods that would be great😊 But the game is so icky I need every one of them lol and I have a ton, Oh my gosh it's not even funny how many I have. Anyways, I appreciate your video Thank you very, very much 😊

I think it's the update in general, so I'd recommend just playing in offline mode. I haven't updated since I bought the Medieval Castle Kit and I'm gonna hold off on updating and getting new content until the major issues are fixed.
It was the update, the problems started being reported after the update. The update preps the game for the DLC but the bug problems can occur with or without you getting the new DLC.
It’s been confirmed by modders that it’s the latest update so regardless if you have or haven’t purchased the new pack you’ll have these bugs if you updated last Tuesday 😢😢
I wish they gave us Bands/Music Expansion pack. Then all these bugs would be worth it….
The only issues I'm having is moving Sims into other households, but other than that, minimal bugs.
I have that glitch where I will move in sims and it will crash I also have it where I play and start building and it crashes I also have the glitch where everyone has no wohoo interest
At this point, when I could get a refund, I would take the money and run. Sad because I used to love the game, well other Game maker have nice games too. I don't eat cereal for dinner and I don't buy more from EA till they get their akt together.
I updated my game and I didn’t get the shopping cart thing, I mean I’m not complaining but even that’s broken for me😂
I do something similar to your 50/50 method to check my mods. I put 3 folders on my desktop and name them "Mods to Test", "Tested Good", and "Retest". I move all the mods from the Sims 4 mods folder to "Mods to Test" then add 25 of them at a time back into the Sims 4 mods. If they are good, move them in the "Tested Good" folder. If there's a bad batch, put them in the "Retest" folder. After all the Mods to Test have been tested, go back to the "Retest" folder and recheck those maybe 5 or 10 at a time until you find the ones that need to be updated/fixed/etc.
Have you done, or thought of doing, a video on different ways to clean up/check your mods (or something along those lines)?
I spent hours improving to my taste a build I had downloaded on the gallery. Started playing for 15 minutes and it crashed... I'm gutted
My game is not buggy anymore, yay! Instead, it crashes after 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay (I play in a brand new save without any mod)... I stopped playing, I consider deinstalling the game again, but I won't reinstall it this time...

This last patch ruined everything.. 2 hours before i updated the game everything worked fine but after updating the game and also updating my mods folder, the social pie menu takes ca. 5 secs to appear.. im playing with less mods than before the update.. plus on a highend laptop so this pc specs shouldnt be the problem.. and even a new safe file couldnt fix this... this is drivin me insane.. i just wanted to play in peace but cant seem to figure it out how to solve it 😢.. they broke everything....
My game crashing a lot been happening since the release of Eco Lifestyle back in 2020. With the recent update my game doesn’t crash as bad as before but I can’t set up the rent prizes for residential rentals.
completely uninstalled sims 4. probably not coming back any time soon. when 4 rent came out, and the initial game corruption issues hit, i got hit hard. lost 2 of my main saves. one of which, i've been working on for a few years now... not amused. prior to losing my stuff, was willing to look past the 4+mil apartments.. was saddened by it cause wanted my not so berry sim at the time to live in one with family next to her. that didn't happen. instead - shortly after the apartment was built, the whole save became corrupted. next, came to the other save to be broken. even without mods, it broke. just.. done. ea at this point see us as nothing more than sacks of money. they've essentially became mr. krabbs.. we're their free testers, that's it. done. moved onto skyrim (got a sweetheart of a blue khajiit to travel with anyway).

The sims is broken aswell, I can’t see the name for Henford-On-Bagley aka the cottage core world, I literally haven’t been able to see the name of that world in game. Weirdest glitch I've been getting is sometimes in build mode I'll place an item and it just disappears. I have to close and reopen my game to fix it.

I only own a few packs, definitely not crystal creations. All mods fully up to date as of the day the update came out.
And whenever I try to load a new worlds (including brand new worlds I made after the update dropped) and the game goes to the world section screen. I can pick a world, pick a family, load, and then back to world selection screen.
I've tried removing all mods, and it works. Try adding them back and testing one-by-one, and it breaks no matter which mod.
Even just the community library breaks it. I heard one user say that any mod that adds or edit scripts breaks it.
It will probably work if I downgrade the game. To what it was before the update. Just haven't had the time and I have crappy internet cause I live in the country. So that would take a while for me. Plus I only have 100gb a month...
I doubt that many modders, if any at all, have managed to update their mods mere hours after the new patch. Re-downloading a mod after an update doesn’t mean the mod itself has been updated. They usually need a few days to fix it. You’ll have to check the mod notes for the compatible game version.
My cafe couldn't even work with get to work cause they are adjusting my graphics every 10 mins and hella slow and I'm like why you doing this and I have ps4 so i can't adjust the graphics low it's honestly ridiculous and can't do my master chef aspiration 😢 those are my issue and I have a story to my sims so I can't even story tell for my enjoyment 😴😩

I can’t buy any more packs anyways because the crystal pack is still not on Amazon and that’s where I get mine. I had to take out MCCC wonderful whims mods for my game to even work. And I really really love wonderful.whims. I really don’t want to play without the mods because it’s so boring. But I don’t want to not play either. 😢My life has been in chaos as is for over a year. Still can’t move past how it started January last year. Sims did not need to add to my mood 😭
