Faulty Xiaomi Mijia Laser Projector 4K Solution?

So is that to say that with the cover off it works just fine in certain situations? I've had the cover off of my projector and the lines were still visible. They would go away at times if you apply a certain amount of pressure to the gray ribbon cable in a particular spot. In my case it seems that applying a little pressure to the cable is a possible fix, even when the cover is on. Has there been any help or recalls from the manufacturer regarding this defect in their product?

hi mate, I believe issues such as white pixels, distorted color and slow starting were all caused by the same issue, which was a design flaw of the data ribbons near the center of the projector. I ran into these problems 6 months after I bought the projector. I managed to fixed the Xiaomi 4k projector problem recently by opening the cover and grind the plastic ridges off at the back of the cover (see pictures attached), the ridges put too much pressure at the grey data ribbon near the center of the projector hence causing the image problem.

Hey do you know which ribon cable it is ? Or how to replace it :?

Michael Rau hi it’s the grey ribbon and the black one underneath it, if you click the link and visit avforum you will see the picture with a red square on it. Why do you want to replace it? the ribbons are fine, I don’t think replacing it will solve the problem, it was the way it was connected to the motherboard causes the problems, you can fix it by not pressing on the ribbon when you close the projector cover.

@@liangbingkevin well unfotunally my projector droped down and shows only the Half of the picture... the Problem is the cable, so i would like to replace it. But i dont know what it is/ which Kind and where to buy. Because there is no Support from Xiaomi :/

Michael Rau Michael Rau I see, that is probably a different issue, could be due to a loose contact somewhere as a result of the impact? you may try checking if the ribbon connection is loose, or try taking the motherboard out then reinserting it, cos the motherboard can become loose very easily from the shock. You can pull it out from the rear side at the input/output panel. Search youtube “Xiaomi projector teardown” and at 0:32 it shows how to pull out the motherboard.

I got the same issue in just 6 months of use. Its getting worse day by day. Initially the white lines/dots were for few seconds. Now its saying longer upto 1-2 mins. I guess, I have to apply the fix as described here. Did anybody get any help from Xiaomi USA Warranty ?

Common fault wemax 4k and Fengmi 4k , vertical lines solution
We are from singapore,
We are doing projector repairs since 2009 ,
It so nice to see people sharing knowledge on repair here ,
After reading your wemax 4k vertical lines solution , we manage to make the stainless steel plate with few try , the diamension is critical and flatness is critical , installing it needs to very very careful not to damage the dnd chip ,
We try over 5 times with the laser Cnc machines, finally after the 5th finished stainless steel plate,
We manage to be suscessfull and we hv installed the stainless steel plate , and been using the Wexma 4k for the pass 9 months daily , and some of my customers using it also for 6-9 months after installed the stainless plate . And 1 musem use it daily 8 hours daily about 5 months ago , till now , no complains . Wonderful
All happy and finally we resolve this flaws that Xiaomi made . Thanks for you .

@@jmrh83 if you fix It yourself you must be very carefull when you screw it apart and together. The contactplate between the dlp chip and the cable is very fragile. Dont forget to use some cooling paste as in computers.
