@Shane Hummus - The Success GPS Check out these videos: Peter Schiff College, Arron Claery Business Degree
Business + social sciences= Human resource and management
Business + creativity = Marketing
Business + mathematics= Operations management
Business + technology= Management information system
Business + number crunching = Accounting and finance
This is why I think Business is the best 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
True.
👌
Actually marketing is more about market research and placement. Advertising is the creative aspect of it. So it would make more sense to place Advertising major where you have marketing.
@@olivergreen3913 yea but marketing encompasses both! In fact advertising is a part of marketing! Marketing is define as identifying consumer needs but also coming up with strategies to satisfy those needs which includes marketing campaigns i.e advertising. Perhaps I would have mentioned advertising but I dont think it falls under a business administration major. I am sure it's a major on it's own!
Would Accounting & Liberal Arts be considered a good double major? Since Liberal Arts works on critical thinking and figuring the best solutions to problems. It seems like you have knowledge of the business world.
You covered some really important points about getting a double major in business. Awesome video!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this video! I’m an Accounting major with a minor in Computer Information Systems, many employers have told me I chose I great path 🤞🙏
Best of luck!
They told you that since your cute.
@@dad4378 hello dad uwu
@@o.602 hey uwu lol
im tryna find a great path to your heart🥸
I think business and science degrees make sense to combine if you're going onto a graduate degree like law, medicine, or dentistry where it's common to setup your own practice. The science degree prepares you for the advanced degree (IP law could require science for, say, drug companies) and the business degree prepares for running your practice.
I personally believe Accounting or Finance double majored with statistics is gonna be a great degree. I personally wanted to go through the same route( Accounting +Statistics) but my university in Canada isn’t as flexible as universities in the USA .
So I’ve been thinking of doing this exact thing, double majoring in accounting and finance and I was gonna ask more about it, like the good and bad things about doing this specific double major, are you double majored in them, if so what do think so far.
@@hunterpurrington2025 I have the impression that finance majors needs a major or minor in accounting because it can be hugely benificial for them, however for accountants with experience in the financial sector or by having made mergers aquisitions they already have a broad set of knowledge so i dont know if that is really necessary
@@hunterpurrington2025 you should do it. I am double majoring and there is huge overlap with both degrees. It only adds a few more classes so it is very worth it. It is gonna be harder but worth it in the end.
@@karimjalali7970 It looks good for employers became a lot people in the finance industry get excited when they see that you double major in accounting
Bro I am so confused I am 16 and don’t even know what I am gonna be, I want to get a well paying job, work a lot on my young years and then relax in my 50s
Don’t worry we’ve all been there. I was in your shoes. Didn’t want to be a doctor cause I didn’t want to spend my youth studying and wasn’t really interested in engineering although I could enter any program I wanted. Ultimately, I chose business administration with a concentration in finance so that I could work ASAP while also learning about different skills such as budgeting and investing that would potentially set me up to be a millionaire by the time I’m 50. This is by no means the only route that would fit your goals of working and relaxing when you’re older. Find something that interests you to a certain extent. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a passion or something you love, but make sure you can tolerate it. Only you know your interests so only you can decide. Whatever you do I wish you the best. If you need any help or suggestions hmu!
Plan it out and know what you want to be in the future
If you don't have a plan at 18 go to community college first and save money. Take general classes and subjects that interest you. You'll probably have a better idea after that.
@@MG21778 Thanks man, Could you tell me how satisfied you are with your job?
Hey man dont worry about it you are still young and you dont want to rush anything so you dont make the wrong decision. I am now 20 and when i was your age i wanted to take a completely different path than the one im taking now, which is entrepreneurship, and i recently just decided i wanted to go to college. The best thing for you to do now is try different jobs to get some experience in the real world, and also do alot of research.
Your a saint releasing this much content back-to-back, do you ever get burnt out?
I think he pre-recorded videos in bulk
I'm just human, there are certain days 😅
I’m majoring in marketing and minoring in entrepreneurship. I’m relieved to see that combo in your list 🙌🏽
he didn't mention entrepreneurship or marketing.
@@josephs3169 he showed a picture of it
how did that work out for you? is it worth it?
My main problem with college isn’t actually money; *it’s wasted time.* I don’t want to choose a useless class, that gives me information I could have easily learned from Google. I want to take something *incredibly useful* , and go to a college that will give me something I couldn’t have given myself alone.
( I want to create a website for writers, an online e-commerce boutique, my own anime inspired clothing line, and an in-person v-steaming business with an online shop.)
Any advice?
MARKETING or FINANCE. I think double major in these two will be great.
I suggest double majoring in philosophy and entrepreneurship. Philosophy teaches you how to write and market better than marketing because the argumentation, critical thinking, and logical analysis skills it teaches are far better than marketing. Marketing is probably one of the weaker business majors imo. Philosophy will teach you writing better than other degrees. The most interesting and memorable classes I ever took in college were philosophy. It's your decision though. Good luck to you friend
There is always going to be wasted time In college. It shows how you can persevere through those classes and that is why businesses look for people that have degree because it proves you handle it.
Business + Communication= Corporate Communication.
Which is an interdisciplinary specialization degree within Business Communication studies.
I agree with Shane that a business degree is substantially easier than an engineering or a tech degree.
However, be careful.
Double majoring in tech and business or engineering and business might be not as bad if the business degree is general management or business admin. (Easiest business degrees)
BUT, if you end up doing engineering plus accounting or finance or you double major in a tech degree (like MIS) plus accounting or finance then GOOD LUCK. LOL. Thats gonna be quite hard.
Accounting and Finance are straight up the hardest business degrees in business school.
Good luck everybody!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
From someone who skateboards, has an IT degree and is considering going for business, absolutely love the intro! 😅
Shane your videos are live savers. I'd be so lost without you man. Keep up the amazing work!
Happy to help! Thanks
I'm a Business Administration major minoring in Hospitality Management. I started school right before the pandemic & Hospitality took a major hit. I didn't change my major though. I know it's still valuable all over the world & I figure by the time I graduate, things will be relatively normal.
Hi man, I wanna do business administration in college, but I don't know if it's really value, can u give me some info about dis degree? Plz
thank you Shane. I been waittttin for dis one. keep killing it

I'm loving these new videos. I should tell my peers at school about your RUclips channel. Its free quality information and I like it🙂
Please do! Thank you
Nowadays, a general business degree can be boosted by graduate certificates. A general business degree can be supported by a graduate certificate in finance, marketing, etc. MBA is changing as well. Now they have MBA finance, Healthcare MBA, MBA marketing. People with a general MBA can also be boosted by getting a graduate certificate.
been waiting for this one... Finally!

can you do something about sports business management?
Hi Shane. Could you do a video about business analytics too? And your videos are amazing... really helpful😃
Is it worth it to study international Management and are there any differences between international Management and International Business ?
I want to see a video on that topic too
Noted Leon
I wanna know it too.my major is it
my plan is this: go to school and get a BA in a business field, then go to law school and get my JD there (i'm thinking corporate law for a career)... what's your opinion on these 2 degrees together? is it worth it for the *crippling* debt i'm probably going to be in lmao
It’ll better if you do law from a reputed school.
i got the same question , i’m thinking bout doing them both as well
I think that's great because you have got plenty of options
AMAZING! I'm also studying business administration with specialization in banking and finance (double major) after this I will go to law school.
What degree would you recommend if you want to teach but teach creative classes for yourself. Like owning my own business and teaching?
Hey Shane what is your opinion on pursuing a marketing and computer science double major. I'm also not experienced with programing but it seems like a very a lucrative degree to have in the arsenal.
love this vid adding buisness into your major is a beast! you have all the power to get hired anywhere and do what ever you want.
Please do "is a biomedical engineering degree worth it?" Thanks so much!

Yesssss please. Also is biomedical science possible too?
Thanks for the video.
Got 2 (+1) questions :
My school offer a "International-businees/Marketing-sales" degree, would that be okay, or should I try to go for something else ?
Also, I spent 2~3 years in a mathematics degree which I didn't complete because I didn't like it anymore (+ some problems) , should I try to talk about it and the skills I got from it, or should I farsake it in case I'd be asked why I dropped it (or them assuming I failed ~not completely true but not false either) ?
(+1) : Should I get a bachelor's Degree or a Master's Degree ?
(especially in the degree I mentionned earlier ?)
Thanks for reading my comment.
ive been thinking about doing international business administration + marketing bc im transferring next
Hey,can you please do a video about double majoring in Economics & any type of engineering degree?
Hi Shane, could you do a video about “sport business management”? Thanks!
I like it when you talk about finance. Could you do a video and give advice on how to grow a RUclips channel?
Noted on that. I might do that in the future
@@ShaneHummus Thanks Shane! I'm trying to grow my channel teaching math and programming but I don't think it's doing very well lol. Anyway, I look towards your videos in the future!
Would love another agriculture degree video. Most people think those who obtain agriculture degree aren't going to be "farmers" but to work on the agribusiness industry. Slaughterhouse inspectors, feed nutritionists, soil scientists, agronomists, crop insurance salesman, precision ag specialists, plant breeders, feedlot managers, etc. All those jobs require some form of agriculture education.
I might make one in the future Chase
Loved the video, I was hoping you'd cover MBA degree with Leadership and Management degree combo.

i am thinking to learn accounting as a double major...which is better

I cant seem to choose between finance and marketing. I have gifted writing skills but I also want to do something analytical. I think I will try a double major in both of them. What are your thoughts on this shane?
That sounds great tbh.
Both are pretty solid. Just have to plan it out well
I chose to double major in Accounting and Finance, then graduated into a pandemic 😂
How was the combination? I am starting college this fall, plan on majoring in accounting and finance then become a CFP

You are welcome!
Hi ! Thank you so much for your videos they’ve been guiding me so much as a senior in high school. I’m looking into double majoring with In international business and marketing and I’m wondering if that sounds like a good idea since I do want to advertise to other countries and expand business internationally. I watched your international business video as well and I’ve been trying to find the best two majors to match for what I want to do. I hope you’re able to get back to me :)
I think that sounds great, I’m someone who’s doing the same thing. The only thing is you don’t need a bachelors in marketing, a person with an associate degree in marketing makes the same as someone with a bachelors.
Im either doing Healthcare administration and either finance or HIM.
I have seen this pattern that most people do MS in something like Computer Science or Information Systems and after working for a year or two, get enrolled or do a part-time/evening MBA from a well-off Univ and shift into senior management roles. So what does your experience say about this? Is this a better option? Or doing a Management degree with a concentration in some domain like Information Systems(dual degree) a most viable option?
Hi Shane, I planned on double majoring in Finance and International business but I also want to do human resource management. What would you recommend in this situation ?
I'm actually majoring in Finance and International Business with a concentration in Marketing.
I have an associate degree in International Business and I loved it, that's why I'm continuing to get a BBA for it. If you're good at math, double major International Business with Finance or Accounting with it.
Hi, may i ask if i should do a degree in business majoring in communications , or maybe industrial design? I have interest in ux design too but am unsure which degree is better in terms of job prospects
Do one about an Executive MBA
Shane, can you do a video of careers in Medical/Bio Ethics?
What is your opinion about English literature and buisness majors combo?
Hey shane, please make a vedio about comp and information science major. :)
Great video, have you ever did a video on a Office Adminstration degree?
Marketing and data analysis or marketing and business analysis or marketing and supply chain ?
Your pronunciation is perfect, no joking
What about a combination of MBA and a certification in data analytics
great video. thumbs up!
Hey Shane! I wanna do Economics and Business but also a tech degree as well like MIS, is that good or there are gonna be some problems with it?
I disagree about science and business. If you're interested in working in healthcare in any way, combining it with business is a great idea! Especially if you plan on being in a management position or running your own business. More medical schools are offering degrees that combine MD and MBA programs because of this. Knowing how to run a business efficiently is pretty much always a good thing. The only time I would say it really wouldn't help is if you intend on just being a university paid research scientist forever or something of that nature.
Hey. I read about an Indian couple who have done MBA-MIS from Univ of Arizona, and now work at Product Management role at Microsoft in next 3 years. So I am curious to know that in American system, an MBA is needed for product management roles, or one can break-in just by an MIS ?
Your inputs would be really appreciated.

I’ve been watching your videos since I started my freshman year in college currently and I need help. I just finished watching the ikigai video and I am naturally gifted in reading and really good at/passionate about writing so I want to major in English to help this decision since I am concerned about it being marketable I am debating combining this with Economics or Business which is a better time investment Economics with English or Business with English?
You dont need to do all that. You can study marketing, it comes business and writing skills. Even I am gifted at writing and would also love to major in English but I also needed a career that pays well, therefore i found my ikigai to be marketing which combines business with writing/creativity and also pays a decent to good paycheck
I might make a video to help you with that. Stay tuned for it
Thank you for the tips and future video request. As for marketing my university doesn’t offer like a major in that or specific areas in relation to business only as master/PhD programs but I will make sure to look more into the career of marketing to see if I could make sure to take some courses that align with it inside of the business or economics major.
Great vid as usual shane. Just curious, could we also do minors in these subjects for business instead of double majoring?
Yeah you could also do that
Have you done a business analytics video yet?

Hello! I'm curious, i'm currently a junior, senior next year! Is business + psychology a good double major to do?
Business backed with a finance major is better.
Is Business Administration good if it has a concentration? How would you rank from: Finance, MIS, Business Analytics, Quantitative Finance? Thanks
Business Degree Tier List (Business Majors Ranked)
ruclips.net/video/vhRW50eh1hQ/видео.html
in my opinion the rank is :
1 Business Analytics
2 MIS
3 QuantFinance
4 Finance .
quantitative finance might have been a good degree 5-10 years back but nowadays , it's all about data , quant division has been pretty stagnant and it is very difficult to sell back to other non-banking companies. Traditional Finance would be good but it has become too saturated , plus people with STEM and more maths-heavy business degrees (like Actuarial science, QFinance ; Business Analytics ) have started competing with finance majors for the same jobs.
How do you get in touch with a lot of people doing the careers you are interested in?
hello please I would really appreciate it if Shane or anyone could reply to this, so basically I'm in hs rn, and because if your channel I've been able to find out what I wanna do in uni at least, which was international business, but I thought it would be okay if I added another course to it like IB & marketing, but it's so hard finding colleges that offer that, the college I found says I can major in ACCOUNTING (ACC)
FINANCE (FI)
HOSPITALITY BUSINESS (HB)
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (HRM)
MANAGEMENT (MGT)
MARKETING (MKT)
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (SCM)
and I can minor in
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION
ENVIRONMENTAL AND SUSTAINABILITY STUDIES
HOSPITALITY BUSINESS REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
RETAIL MANAGEMENT
SALES LEADERSHIP
SPORTS BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
but idk because i really want to major in IB, and with everything going on it would be good if I had an opportunity to get a degree that has to do with technology too, like IB & MIS, I'm just really frustrated, sorry if this was long.
