Thank you Andrew for this insightful video. The clarity solves the problem of information overload concerning these two careers. First time on your channel. Instant subs.!
Im currently an intern for a financial advising office, but my major is an accounting. I’m enjoying the job and what I’m learning and they have offered me a full-time position, so I might change my major to finance.
I wanted to use this to go down my own route and business journey. I’m studying a commerce degree and am doing a double major. To your understanding, which two should I go for accounting, finance, or marketing analytics. And can I get a job with a major or do I need more qualifications to stand out such as an actual degree
It honestly depends on the school, career path, and what you enjoy more. I chose both because they complement each other very well. With that said, I ended up choosing to pursue careers in finance because it was more interesting to me.
Id choose finance if I attended a top /target school and I’ll choose accounting if I go to a non target, because I’ll have a chance of landing a job after graduation 👍
If you're comparing the top finance jobs vs the top accounting jobs right out of school, your earning potential is greater in finance. However, as mentioned in the video, if you look at average pay there's not much difference

accounting is more applicable and employable at the bachelor's level. High finance people usually have MBAs from good schools.
@@srujan00 yep which kinda sucks for bachelor finance that don’t go to high ranked schools
Which one is overall better?
In factors like Salary and Job opportunities?
Finance no cap

If I go to a top 50 school for my province should I go into finance or accounting?
So you got your CPA?
Yes I did!
Hours are pretty shit for both.
Which one would you say focuses more on maths ?
Finance
