    Great set of lectures..years long practical professional experience often is more useful in conveing meaning than pure texbook rigorous but uncontextualized explanation. i.e. Great complement to the more rigorous quantum classes found in yt and mit ocw.

    I wonder what would happen during the double slit electron experiment if you pulsed on and off the observer/camera?

    The double slit expirement is likely due to electrons being timeless objects like black holes. Time moves incredibly slowly as the speed of light accellerates. Well, what moves at or near the speed of light. Light. So is it a particle or a wave, yes. We are capturing a timeless object in both positions. I believe though that if we were to slow photons down significantly below the speed of light, that (If the equations could prove it) we would see the double slit paradox go away and the double slit experiment would only be particles and not waves. I think that both black holes and electrons in that sense are not time based objects due to the theory of relativity, I think anyways. Proving that aspect and why photons and gravitons in that manner is important to understand because time doesn't matter to a photon or a black hole due to its speed. I have to go now.

    has a double slit test ever been performed at more than just a 180 degree plane?
    do particles act as a torus, not just a "wave"?
    i'm not a scientist so, i'm not sure if this test has been done, to detect the behaviours of particles in these tests on more than 2 dimensions (x, y and z axes rather than just x and y simultaneously).
    if anyone can let me know, i would really appreciate it.
    sorry if this question doesn't make sense to intellectuals...

      @@dagarshab7850 No, particles are not moving in quantum mechanics. It's even more radical than that: there are no particles in quantum mechanics. There are only quanta of energy. We teach that at the high school level, by the way. People just fail to remember what they have learned in high school, even though it was 100% correct. ;-)

    the double slit is not quantum at all. its classic. its holography. the beam must iterfer with itself 180 degree perpedicular to the incomming beam to produce the mutiple bands. a slight misalignment of the reflection and the pattern never emerges.

      You are correct that the double slit is perfectly classical, but it's not sensitive at all to alignment. You can illuminate that thing from almost any angle and it will show a pattern. ;-)
