Hello, I need some help, I’m not sure why he wrote second derivative of u with respect to time at 28:02 and just before that... Do you mind explaining me a little ?
The dot put on the board is basically finding out if Schrödinger's cat is alive or dead. The probability collapses to one value ( eigenstate) when the photon hits the target. The slit experiment sure makes superposition a lot clearer to me than the schrödinger's cat thought experiment, but I have to admit the cat brings the telling of the story alive.
What does mean "no updown motion, just have breathing" ? What is "Breathing"?? i know that professor Bob Field answered same question already, but i dont get it.
I hate to say this, but these lectures aren't very good. The explanations are just not that clear and it seems like he's referring to notes from years ago. Maybe he used to to a better job but this just feels like a half effort.
Helmut, look at his wiki page and watch the other lectures in this series. The playlist is in the discriptionbox. Remember that this is graduate level and that it is Chemistry. There are also quantum mechanics lectures...
I agree. He mixes up all kinds of subjects. Poor teaching indeed. At MIT they think that every intelligent person can teach. Teaching is a profession!!! It's not a hobby for some retired professor.
Thank you! I love it that he showed explicitly @31:47 why it has to be in sin cos from, not in exponential forms.

Sorry…. Part of my comment disappeared. In the above I was talking about the dot at about 2:36 .
this man is a god. a very benevolent god.
this is helpful 🖤🤗

I think it is not bad.

This is not a good lecture unfortunately, my QC textbook is more intuitive from reading through its provided math.
