Yeah I have a 2018 Crosstrek Premium with the older 2.0 Liter, but I have the 6 speed manual, It's likely the only reason I don't trade it in. I'm still fighting the ECU a bit when I want to accelerate, but at least the Manual allows it to do something reasonable when trying to accelerate.
I love the Subaru Crosstrek. It has more cargo space than i thought. I am thinking of selling my Kia Sorento as i do not pull a trailer anymore and like the size of the Crosstrek.
Me to 🤗 mine should be ready in a few months as well ! 22 crystal pearl white limited 😁I have been looking at many cars and for what your paying it’s in my opinion the best option for the class, the new Corolla cross from Toyota is slow and loud, the Mazda cx-30 sure is a fast stiff drivers car. But the Subaru is more rugged, and off road friendly from the get go with its increased ground clearance, it’s not a race car but it’s quick! It’s very fuel efficient, it’s surprisingly comfortable over rough road surfaces to the point I couldn’t tell if I was hitting the bumps, I was tho but very hard to tell because of how well it’s insulated and damped the suspension is. Not to mention how great and cool the eyesight is to be able to have an entry level sub compact SUV that can almost completely drive its self ! That’s pretty cool 😎 and don’t get me started on the heated steering wheel and blah blah blah … lol good choice of vehicle 👍🏻
Thanks for the well done review! I just ordered a 2022 Crosstrek Limited. Wanted the Khaki, but they are doing specific package/color combinations and I didn't want the package that the khaki comes in. Ended up with Horizon Blue Pearl. Hopefully I like it. The crazy thing is there are 2019 Limiteds selling for above my out the door price for a 2022. I'm glad that's the case, because I would've ended up with a 2.0 Did you get a chance to test the steering response headlights?
I have the 2.5 in a Sport edition. The interior is nice; the CVT is designed to get great gas mileage; the vehicle has sufficient space and power. I really like it...even better than our Forester Wilderness.
I have a tacoma that I'm considering trading for the same model you have. The tacomas seating position is notorious for wrecking backs on long road trips & now I'm experiencing it first hand. Have you taken yours on extended drives & if so, is it comfortable ?
One disadvantage of manual Subarus is that they don't get Eyesight. Subaru's CVT fakes gearshifts to alleviate droning, which defeats the purpose of a CVT. The point of a CVT is to go to the most efficient ratio and stay there. If you're going to have fake gears, why not just have real gears? Other than that it's decently well tuned. I have a few thousand miles with the 2.5 in a Forester, which of course is bigger and heavier than a Crosstrek. I live in a flat area and drive in no hurry. It's adequate. It's not fast and I wouldn't want to tow with it but it'll keep up with traffic and gets pretty good gas mileage. My only complaint is that it's a little rough on startup. I am so OK with the 2.5 that I ordered my incoming Outback with it over the turbo 2.4. Subaru can't give away the Impreza hatchback, but they put a lift and some cladding on it and it flies off the lot. Eyesight is great once you get a feel for it and the infotainment is perfectly adequate. I'm sure the Crosstrek will be the next Subie to get the Wilderness treatment.
I noticed while you were scrolling through the menu screen that vehicle had only 9 miles on it. I was told with new Subaru you’re supposed to break them in for the first 1000 miles and try not to exceed 4000 rpm’s, so is it okay to drive them hard with low miles? Just curious, thanks and good review.
My question is are they expensive to maintain and are they as safe as they used to be I used to have an outback many years ago they were very safe to driveAlso you didn’t put the backseats down do they go down good review though thank you
Yes, backseats go all the way down. The Crosstrek is rated Super Safe. One of the most current safest vehicles out there. I just bought mine and my dealership offers 2 year maintenance free plan including paint recoating clearcoat and oil changes-meaning no maintenance cost on anything first two years! Then there is the factory warranty and extended warranty so mine is covered bumper to bumper 5-6 years don’t remember exact number. It was an awesome deal.
So they raced the 2.0 and 2.5 Crosstrek.. you can find it on you tube. Really the 2.0 wasn't that much slower. In fact in some races the 2.0 took off faster because the rear end is different ratio. I have a 2019 it does okay. ( unless you want to pass someone on the freeway ) which I think the 2.5 would do better. Now i'm looking at the new wrx.. They kinda look like a crosstrek with the front end and cladding :)
It's too bad you can't get the 2.5L in manual but it is what it is. I'm just happy they offer them in manual and it's a big deciding factor on why I am getting one.
I am completely clueless about lane assist, I have a concern about it hopefully someone can answer like for Example Using left hand drive car, In am on right side of lane and a wreckless car from fast lane (left) cuts on my lane, can I easily control my car to avoid collition by driving towards shoulder lane or my car's smart LANE ASSIST will keep me from doing it? I know this sounds confusing but hopefully somebody here gets my point and help me by answering my question. Planning to buy crosstrek limited.

fantastic cars?? mmm in the 90s.. not now. they would be fantastic if they all were available with MANUAL gearbox, frameless windows and a SPARE WHEEL.
The Crosstrek can be equipped with a manual (sure it's only on the base engine but still) and also comes with a temporary spare tire. Also what benefit would frameless windows provide? These are fantastic cars given how they are priced and the features they come with.
Frameless windows are a HUGE pain in the *ss if you live where winter weather is a yearly thing. Freezing rain & sleet will cause headaches with glass freezing/sticking to your rubber door trim. Yeah, yeah .... put silicone spray, wd-40, baby oil, ect on it. Heard it all before, and it'll get you by for a few cold nights. In the end though, it'll bite you in the rear.

Only complaint is that at light throttle, midrange response can feel a bit flat, but if you add more throttle, power is there.
I do live in a relatively flat, low elevation region. The 2.0L might be more problematic in hilly terrain at elevation, but for my use, it is fine.
I test drove the 2.0 and then the 2.5 ,HUGE DIFFERENCE !! i bought the 2.5 liter
Nice wheels!!!
It really does. From a total dog to just fine on power
Sadly can't get the 2.5 with cloth seats
Awesome

@@ou812.... lolololol
I'm an old man and getting one (2.5L) this fall.
slughish!!! ?? buy a porche lol
fantastic cars?? mmm in the 90s.. not now. they would be fantastic if they all were available with MANUAL gearbox, frameless windows and a SPARE WHEEL.
The Crosstrek can be equipped with a manual (sure it's only on the base engine but still) and also comes with a temporary spare tire. Also what benefit would frameless windows provide? These are fantastic cars given how they are priced and the features they come with.
@@ashtonrichard594 transporting chairs.. if my old legacy car had framed windows i could have not been able to stuff them inside the car.
You can get the WRX with manual and the 2.5L.
In the end though, it'll bite you in the rear.
orange stitching looks ugly, tacky!
