One of the best Batreps of 10th edition/Pariah so far. Using new units, synergy, new rules all with the classic MG charm we love. Homeboy finally came around to the scout sentinels, that FoF Daring recon combo deleted that dreadknight. Looking back at 9th edition sentinels at 45pts with a DMG 2 chainsword, and now their increased toughness + daring recon + reinforcements, it makes me think one of the designers or balance testers has an affinity for 6-9 sentinels. Scary to hear Mordian cooking up the 18 list, gonna look like the scene from Matrix 3, or titan fall vibes. Seriously can't wait for that bat Rep. I will say tho I think the sweet spot is gonna be 6 Scouts (1las 1 plas), 6 Armoured (1las 1 plas) , 2 Hellhounds (melta cannons)
Nice to see the Sentinels getting an outing, I wished when they did the Sentinel model update in last edition they gave them a backup weapon like a heavy stubber or flamer but there we go - still struggling to deliver much of a punch. At least the Chainsaws are nice!
Feel like a manticore may have been worth it here. Shooting at a squad size of 5-9 it would get D6+2 attacks and reroll hits. At S10 AP-2 Damage 3 that could have thinned out some grey knights early.
Great report lads! Always enjoy watcing your battle reports. One thing of my two cents' worth, it might be nice for viewers if you have a little score tracker in a corner of the screen, or (not a video maker myself, not sure how much of a process that would be) put the score in the transition frames. Take cover sadly doesnt do anythin for sentinels, you cant go past a 3+ save with it BEFORE enemy modifiers are applied since it dsoesnt modify the dice roll but the characteristic (same for the russes)
I'm pretty sure as far back as 3ed if you bought a bone 'ead for the Ogryn squad or put a commissar (or maybe other character?) with them they'd go in a chimera even if they couldn't normally. Or maybe it was always a fluff thing? I know 2ed made no mention of any reluctance.
Have to agree, autocannons were a bit meh on the otherwise good sentinels. Plasma-Cannons could be fun instead, if you have two squads running around. Or plasma's on armoured sentinels.
Very cool Battlereport thanks for this one you too are great people :) One Question maybe i didnt get it, why could you shoot into simons i guess it was his paladins which where in close combat with youre sentinels and the chimera. The Paladins should still be in close combat with the sentinels after destroying the chimera arent they? If so you are not ineligible to shoot on them.

I'm surprised secret missions wasn't considered. Also think that turn shooting the wrong squad with Orgyns was poor form. Should have just redone it. Or cancelled the shoot for the mistake.
We didn't really consider secret missions as it was first game, definitely something to consider in the future. Regarding the Ogryn thing, you have to understand that it hard to keep track of everything whilst playing AND filming. Simon and I both allow full take backs and changes during the BatReps because of this o7

I know right. this has got to be like one of the most suboptimal lists I have seen in a while. Both termie squads should have a narthecium, banner and heavy weapon. 3 strike squads.... Why??, 2 should be more than enough. Paladins could have 3 special weapons... Why go for less? its Litterly free! interceptor squad, ocassionaly good. Personaly not a fan. bring at least 3 dreadknights. but that's like the bare minimum. Get some more librarians!
@@poffertjeseten exactly. I’m getting more and more suspicious of mordians competitive lists. Where I play everyone takes at least 1 infiltrator to block scoutmiras.
@@erupendragon7376 he is playing with friends and mostly for fun/content, even in tournaments the competition isn't that rough, for minmaxed lists you should follow other people.
@@Badbufon I get that. I personally prefer friendly games. However Mordian is specifically running the list from his last video "Competitive guard recon company list". This is specifically a tournament practice game. So either grey Knights are bringing a poop list to the wrong game, or Mordian is being a dick on a friendly game.
Just want to address some of the points here: Simon has 4 Dread Knights. I was surprised he only used 2 and when I asked him about it he said he just wanted to try some new stuff with the dataslate coming out. This is not my recon company list at all. In fact the recon company list video was recorded AFTER this batrep was recorded. This list had LRBTs, Ogryn and many other different units. Also my list was not optimised at all into GK and I really lacked sufficient AP. I took the units I did because like Simon I just wanted to try some stuff I haven't used in a while and see if it worked well with the recent changes. Regarding infiltration into scoutmiras, I have had people try that against me many times in tournaments. I find all they end up doing is throwing away multiple units to try and keep. me back for a turn. If that happens I just play for the later game win and points scoring. Finally, Simon is far more competitively minded than I am. Whenever I suggest a more friendly or narrative game he always says he would prefer to play something harder or more competitive 😅 Anyway, hope that clears a few things up and I hope you still enjoyed the BatRep :)
@@DEIM237you can’t because take cover improves your save characteristics (up to 3+), not the saving throw, and since scout sentinels already have a 3+ save it does nothing.
This comes up almost every battle report. You absolutely can stack cover and take cover to help you essentially reduce AP. You can't get a better then a 3+ but you can essentially ignore the first 2 AP.
I usually can only watch Play On Tabletop but you guys are onto something with the banter and way of filming/commentary. Very nice !

Awesome batrep, just FYI you can't give Sentinels take cover as they already have a 3 up
You can it’ll help against AP. But can’t get anything better than 3+ armor save
No because take cover modifies the datasheet and ap is the dice roll. Since save on datasheet is 3 it won't affect it.
@@DEIM237 I thought AP was a minus to the save roll, so you still have a 3+, you just get -2 to the save roll, so you need a 5 on the die for example.
