Is it finally time to do the WIDOW MAKER? Cougar Park-Tokoroa.

- Tokoroa in the central North Island of NZ has a mountain bike park called Cougar park. It has a feature called the Widow maker which is a drop between two rocks. I have always been too scared but today I am determined. I do end up crashing but not on this feature.

That first section through the woods looks beautiful - really Jurassic looking - good vid
I thought the same.
Nice Lance 👍, good on you for giving those features a stab, especially in the slippery condition. I hope you went out and had a look at the jump track while you were down, we still need to go and do that when I'm good and healed.
No, I didn't. My guide didn't take me there!
Awesome video Lance really enjoyed it mate . Cougar Park has always been one of my favourites and including Rotorua. The Craters of the Moon never did anything for me. I’m always looking forward to seeing you on your next video 😊
I like riding there also.
Great video Lance and solid work ticking off the widow maker! What you say about the park is so true, great little park with almost no one around when you ride there! Hoping to get up there for the long weekend for a day of riding, looks like the tracks are in good condition!
If Tokoroa didn't have one of the best riding locations in the world next door, it would be so much busier. If it was anywhere in the UK, it would be super busy. Great place to ride.
Nice Video Lance! - I see you left out the tracks where I left you behind and was riding really fast as per usual 😂😂😁😁
Must have been the new jump track Mike keeps talking about.
Yikes! Glad to see you are ok (what about the next day?) Looking first is always better but who’s got time for that. 🤪 Congrats on sending that huge drop. 👍
I had ridden it before, and if it was dry, I would have been fine. Rock was like ice.
Lance, you will have to revisit Craters of the Moon bike park at Taupo sometime. I know you weren't impressed on last visit but much of the park has been rebuilt since the destruction caused by Cyclone Gabrielle and in fact is still being developed. Many of the tracks are just so much better than the original- which is the upside of having our park trashed. If not, ride the 34km loop just to the west of Kinloch (Kinloch/ Kawakawa/Whangamata hub and back via Otaketake trail.
Yes, I must do that. Maybe next summer.
Love it!! "I jumped it... I hucked it" 😁 If in doubt, air it out 🤙
Nice work on that chute 😎
Would have liked to see someone else do it. Went for the conservative option.
@@bestdayevermtb2 The Green Moss, was a Red Flag 😜
@@kingrat738 I thought that was carpet for extra grip. Need glasses.
Nice work bro! Nice to meet you in real life 😂
Thanks for riding with Shep
Widow maker ✅
Nice to meet you also. Was a good fun ride. Well apart from the hitting the ground bit.
Thanks Lance.
Hey, does anyone know when they're logging?
Planning on heading over next Saturday to smash some laps.
Not 100% sure, but I think you will be OK.
Now I’m going to have to go and have a look at this widow maker chute…
Just watch your toe on the way down.😂
Good to see even the pro falls off. Go the widow maker.
I didn't see any pro riders there that day. I guess they do crash as well, though.😂
You did tell us that that the new bike was only for Grade 1 tracks and not jumping, nice little slide by the front wheel. How was the wrist?
I am quite lucky that most of my body hurts all the time anyway so when I fall off it is only slightly worse.😬
You need a dump truck lance
Well done lads! 🤘

First comment! Great video lance hope to visit here sometime looks fun! You should try going out to Raglan sometime and riding there Te Ara Kakariki trail system
Yes, that is one place I have never ridden.
I had a grade 3.5 haemorrhoid once 🍇
would you come back to christchurch adventure park anytime soon?
I would love to come again as only got the one day there. Will get back some time but unlikely this year.
what tyre pressures do you use off road on your e-bike?
20 front 24 rear.
