@@user-py1gj2ld8e nuh-uh. Beamng has by far the best destruction models, and offroad models for suspension, but track cars, top speed, rally, and drift, are all subpar in beamng. Fun game, mid sim
iRacing seriously needs to fix their tire model.

Here’s the thing though, there’s no reason to think that none of these things work in real life. Brake dragging to warm up the tire carcass is something that is readily known to be done in both F1 and Indycar. And it does make sense that the internal tire damping during vertical deflection should also be generating heat into the tire as well (damping is by nature an energy conversion process to heat)
this is being said since 2008.

because iracing is stuck in the nascar 2003 engine... they made visual improvements, but the physics are still running in a very old and buggy engine... iracing is still stuck in 60hz force feedback, for instance, while other sims are running at 360hz.@@turbo_marc
I heard iRacing recently made it illegal to go down on apron during a restart?
Only during their professional series.
In qual iracing only polices qualifying scrutiny and “unrealistic” things like going down pit road coming to lap 1

Does anybody remember maybe 18 years ago at Dega and Daytona during qualifying you just do some donuts and your tires would be at full temperature so your first lap would be just as fast if not faster than your second lap sometimes. We had some Unwritten rules on which races you could do it at which races you couldn't but I remember it being fun to just blow the field out of the water if they didn't know the trick. Also my favorite to this day whenever I go into an open session I always ask people by typing what is the best mouse keyboard combination. And you have everybody yelling at me telling me I should be playing the game I'm never going to even make the turn and then with 45 seconds left I go out there and drop a time that would put me in the top five if not the pole and then everybody would start laughing because they realize that I was just trolling.
Are the equivalent of these things true in road as well? For example there are definitely times you can drive near walls, or be on a bouncy surface that could heat up tires.

At five flags there is tons of bunos going off into turn three if you make you entry about half a line lower we avoid it in real life but in iracing on restarts to get heat faster we hit them gor a few laps
Do we know if the bumps wouldn't actually generate more heat or not? Cause that sounds like it would increase some friction on the tires creating more heat
they do but it's not that intense, most of the heat is going into your dampers
I’ve heard from multiple sources people seek out these bumps. Might have to do a mythbuster on it

No cheating is just being pro and using the game to your advantage
Brake dragging is illegal btw, so not tje best tip. In some cases youll get away with this, maybe in private leagues or some casual races, but in the official series you'll get banned if someone sees that and protests you

The two concerning tires aren’t tricks. They’re exploits in the physics. Exploits are illegal in iRacing’s sporting code.

Honestly , this game does have really outdated graphics . I get this game is more about the physics and realism but it genuinely looks really old

They've actually hired graphics engineers from game engine developers like Unreal and Unity in the past couple months. An overhaul of the graphics part of their game engine is their next big focus after rain.

You know that real racers use lots of tricks to be faster, right? It's racing that's what happens.
