These might appear as happier, gentler times but for most they were not, and especially if you were not white. I am thinking of my father who lived his early life during the Great Depression and subsequently enlisted in the Army and saw combat in the Pacific theater of WWII the trauma of which he never got over. It was also a period of shortages of so many things we take for granted now and consider basic necessities. The one thing that was true was that all that men endured did seem to make for a unique comradery between them which I think sadly went by the wayside after the war and the great depression when most men wanted to leave all they had endured behind and focus on building families and a better life.
Seen many of these photos on another guys channel. It would be nice if you could identify the people , time and place of each photo. Some of the photos are 19th century.
