I recently did a ton of work on my ’92 NA6. She started having overheating issues, and after watching most of your videos multiple times and reading up a lot on the forums, I decided to tackle it. Up until this point, I’d only ever done spark plugs, oil changes and brakes. I knew I wanted to change the water pump as that seemed to be the issue, and after finding out how involved it was I decided to replace quite a bit of stuff while in there. Also, while researching all of this and finding out what parts I’d need, I stumbled upon the valve seal guide on your website, and decided give that a go as well as she was burning oil. All in all, I replaced the water pump, radiator, all water hoses, valve seals, cam seals, crank seal, CAS O-ring, valve cover gasket, timing belt and pulleys, accessory belts, and valve cover gasket. In addition, I also installed the m-tuned reroute following your video. I don’t think I’d have done any of that work myself without all the quality videos from you Greg. I can't thank you enough! Edit: Forgot to mention, somehow I didn't have any extra bolts/nuts at the end! I also got the timing done, set the CAS and advanced the timing to 12.5 BTDC. All of that I would not have felt comfortable attempting without your videos. She's now running better than ever.
TheCarPassionChannel hey Greg.......I'm way in the Bahamas and after seeing your channels inspired me to buy, and turbo my miata when will the channel's resume?
Your broke and boosted build was one of the biggest reasons I got my own Miata. It will be missed on this channel. You showed me how I can go about modifying my own car without being dangerous or taking the wrong direction, and still being able to love the car for what it is. Thanks Greg, I can't wait to see whatever you do next!
Your channel has helped me decide to buy a miata for myself. I am an Army vet and I live on a fixed income now, I have mouths to feed so I don't have much money. I always dreamt of 911's when I was younger, but I have come to realization that even if I saved up the 20k for a used 996, I still couldn't even afford decent tires for it. You, and a few others on RUclips, have shown me that maybe I can have fun after all regardless of my meager income. I am still saving, but my miata isn't far away. Thanks. Good luck.
eygfhnqwhag I got 1 mouth to feed and maybe 1 more, my project has come to halt after my daughter was born. I got no time for my project. Just one thing to think about before getting a project.
but broke and boosted inspired me to build my car. i have a 1986 e30 with a 3.0 bored 85mm pistons,e36m3 crankshaft, forged 135mm rods and forged heads. i first started doing this build bc i saw your broke and boosted channel. i was about to give up on the whole megasquirt idea until your channel came up on my suggestions list. from what i read miats and e30s have almost the same megasquirt setup so i binged watched your channel and literally figured out how to install/run and set up megasquirt within the day then the hours of reading on forums. after watching you turbo brokeandboosted i did the same tap and drill bit you used and used your knowledge of how to tap and where to tap your car and applied it to my own car. honestly your whole channel and attitude has inspired me to fix my car and mod it. i always loved how you modded your car with hand tools and always made it look so clean. great ups to you man i could go on and on about how your miata inspired my e30 bmw build but thats to much reading. you are a great person and im glad boosted went to a true enthusiast. if you ever want to check out pics of my car my instagram is Boss_Hogg89 i have a few videos of it as well as its still under construction. also if you dont mind the random selfies and weightloss pics i have because well i dont have a seperate ig page for my car lol.
Broke n Boosted inspired me because I had got into the Miata gang about 2 years ago and when you started broke n Boosted I was building mine at the same exact time using almost the same exact parts because I was on a low budget, following your steps and all, right now she's back to N/A but she's gonna be built legitimately this time. Thanks for all the great posts Greg and keep it up! Spank those mustangs!
The hardest part for me on my turbo build was starting. I just didn't know how or where. Broke & Boosted gave me a starting point and for that I'm a forever grateful. Thanks Greg!
I've been building miata for a few years myself. I came across your videos early in to you building broke and boosted. The install videos and tutorials have helped me 10 fold when it comes to my projects always so informative yet simple advice with real life talk about what you're doing and how they work. You're a credit to miata building channels and couldn't thank you enough for all your help and also entertainment you've provided for everyone. Keep doing what you're doing. You da man Greg! Love from the UK.
Broke and boosted inspired me to really start a RUclips Channel. I have tried before, but now is the time when I am really putting my heart into it and really trying. Even though I am not going to touch boost for a long time, broke and boosted was just that testament that I could do anything I set my mind to. Yes, everything costs money, but there are low budget things that you can do well if you spend the time on it. Besides your channel Greg, there are many other car channels that inspired me, but I think yours has inspired me the most. You upload so infrequently yet every time you do you have this amazing passion and great production quality that so many people love. Screw the RUclips algorithm, you have a great collection of individuals that I'm sure are honored to be your Subscribers. Cheers.
Used your videos as a visual aid when i boosted my 97 NA. Been enjoying it for over a year now. Its been super reliable with MS2 and makes great power! Thanks for all the hard work man!
The broke and boosted series actually inspired me and guided me to turbo my own 1991 miata. It's been a little over a year that I've had the car and it was only NA for about a month and a half. You should be more popular than you are and you're the Miata Wizard. If I need help with anything on my car, I go straight to this channel. Thank you so much for everything you've done! I had an exact replica of broke and boosted until I finally started to upgrade different things. I appreciate everything you do for the community and I think its amazing you do it for the people and not the fame. Keep up the amazing work, excited to see what comes next.
noooooo :(((( well, greg...your b&b series inspired me to actually buy a miata and ive loved every moment of driving it. im hoping to boost it in the next year or so...i haven't added any parts yet but im currently saving for a megasquirt. ive watched almost every one of the b&b videos just to make sure i picked up all your wisdom and i cant wait to put all of it into my own miata.
I purchased my Miata right around the time you started Broke and Boosted. Your videos made tackling any job seem like something that could be accomplished by anyone with some motivation. Ive got a 2560 homebrew turbo kit on my car right now and your videos were a big part of helping me get there. Keep up the good work, looking forward to whats next.
HELL YEAH, this series made me boost my Miata! Over the course of 6 months, watching the series over a dozen times, and no prior automotive experience or knowledge, I'm proud to say that I have a boosted 1.6 that feels like driving a little rocket on rails. The satisfaction was insane after hitting boost for the first time! I couldn't wipe that smile off my face for weeks. Shout out to Craig for his knowledge and teaching skillz... love how the channel is continuously improving as well as the hilarious skits XD
all of your vids inspired me from your main miata to broke and boosted....ive started with a standard 90 eunos 1.6...im running a td04l turbo at wastegate pressure its making 180whp on the snc engine with 140k on the clock....in the next few days im getting a mk2 1.6 engine delivered with plans to forge it over a few months and then drop it in.....none of this would have happened without your videos man you and b&b guided me through megasquirt install got me tuned enough to get to the pros and 6 months later the only thing wrong with the car is i blew a hole in one of my boost pipes chasing a wrx sti lol. sad to see you move on from broke and boosted dude but i think u made the right choice. Drive safe brother.
Found you two weeks ago, bought my first NA about two months ago. I've only owned classic Saabs until now (900 SPG, couldn't find a 99 EMS so I went with a 1993 NA). This thing is getting boosted, one way or another. Thanks for keeping up with these cars, even though I am very familiar with turbo shenanigans, it's always fun to watch this channel.
i bought my 1997 miata M edition in august 2016 the first job that came up was the timing belt and water pump and without this channel or broke and boosted i would never have been able to do that. ever since then i've turned to this channel for help. you and this channel have helped me with so much without you and broke & boosted my car would not be running the way it is or running at all for that matter and i want to say thank you for your content thank you for helping me and the many others like me thank you for helping create and grow a respectful car community and most of all thank you for providing content that can and will always cheer me up if i am in a bad mood. Thank You greg peters
100% you taught me all I know about boosted cars, that build taught me so much and in fact sparked a fire in me that bloomed into the need to become a mechanic. I now work at a dealership turning wrenches and have a DIE hard love for miata's thanks to you and broke n boosted, she will be missed dearly.
Yup! Those were from the wrecked white car that we are rebuilding from, my old baby ='( The differential was too, but that had already been out and sitting in my garage for a year lol
the broke and boosted series and your channel alone made up my choice on what my first project car should be, went out and bought a 90' almost a year ago now, because I knew if I needed to know how to install or fix anything I have your channel to come to for help. which is what I have been doing for the past year. can't wait for the next build!!
Hands down man, youre the reason I bought and held on to my 2000 SE. Your passion has renewed my interest with every video I watch. Personally i'm more of a "flipper" of cars so having more into a car than I can get from it really turns me off. BUT, with my Miata I'm breaking into really OWNING the car and doing mods, tires, and aesthetic touches to make it mine.. That will not change with the selling of B and B. I think if you got a good deal for it, went to a good home, and it funds more content for the channel to move forward faster, GREAT. Love the videos man, hope this frees up some time and $ $ for some face to screen time with you. Good Luck and hope to see more cool shit!
Greg, broke and boosted is literally the reason why i have about £1K+ of turbo parts waiting to be installed. While broke and boosted may not be the only turbo miata (mx5) on youtube its definitely been best quality content for 5's. B'n'B will be missed.
Greg, your broke and boosted series not only inspired me, but gave me the confidence to tackle an NB turbo build. It pushed me to go outside my comfort zone and learn a ton along the way. I sold my miata recently and I can safely say I was at the same point where it was time for something new. Can't wait for what's next!
Your timing belt video was my main guide for when I did my timing belt myself. That was the first major project I took on and you helped give me a lot of confidence. Been following ever since!
I've almost used every video as a reference at one point or another and frequently pass that series on to people looking into boosting their miatas! Amazing content and I can't wait to see what comes in the future!
I bought my miata about 2 years ago and after watching Greg's videos it inspired me to turbo it. my miata is now turbo and running great with the help of your videos. Nothing better than pulling away from a v8 mustang who thought your car only had 100hp😂
Hey Greg. Broke and boosted got me through a lot of the maintenance my new-to-me '96 needed this winter to get back to full health. It's ready now to take on my first full season of autocross. Seriously, thank you for all of the tips and tricks! Your channel was on my laptop in the garage whenever I was out there working. I started watching the rebirth series and the rest of the broke and boosted series too (why I'm commenting now...), and I'm really enjoying the content! Hopefully I can get to some of these other mods on my current Miata, or maybe even a second...
Ultimately, broke and boosted help me learn more about the styles of builds and open my knowledge from straight drags to auto-x styles, and drift styles. I've fallen off the miata scene, picked up a EG civic, and plan to make it either time attack car or just a standard sleeper to make people laugh or pissed off when they get beat by the infamous civic. The knowledge you layed out just for the miata really helped!
Broke and Boosted inspired me to get an S13 Hatch and work on that pesky SR and get it running. You've taught me so much through this series and gave me so much confidence that I now daily it! Thanks Greg
I was researching miatas before buying mine, and decided to pull the trigger and I've never been one to work on my cars and now I do everything myself and help work on others miatas ...I did my first motor swap last weekend. I kinda jumped right into the car scene and I'm getting tons of compliments :) your videos gave me the confidence I needed to go down this road and now I feel like I have a nack for it.
thanks to your broke and boosted videos i bought myself a miata... decided i wanted to go off roading and started to build it i got the project started but after 2 months the engine blew... currently i want to put a rotary engine on it but it has been a little hard due to my miney situation but thanks for making vids and helping me get out of my comfort zone and taking the build where i did it was super fun and hopefully we can see the vvti miata do awesome things
I found your channel because I was interested in Miatas. I was curious what you could do with them. I really wanted a inexpensive car because the one I had (2014 Genesis Coupe 3.8) was too expensive, so I couldn't afford to modify it. I was on the fence. Then you started your Broke & Boosted series, and that got me even more interested. When it all finally came together on B&B, I pulled the trigger. I sold my car and bought a black 2004 Miata LS. I love it! Immediately installed a roll bar, upgraded the sound system, and now I'm on to the interior. I'm tall, so I'm trying to find some Lotus seats (after hours of reseaching what actually fits. If anyone knows how to find a pair let me know!), and changing the interior from partchment tan to black. Then its coils and wheels, then turbo time! Thanks Greg! I honestly couldn't be happier!
While I haven't had the extra money to put jack squat into my car's performance lately, I very much enjoyed and appreciated watching the broke and boosted series! Excited for the VVT build and I agree with you, Greg that 2 projects at the same time would have detracted from the VVT build.
You inspired me to turbo and megasquirt my 1.6 miata. You've thought me a lot about Miata, I've been watching since the "how to buy a used Miata" video. Keep up the great work Greg.
Broke and Boosted inspired me to bring my 93 NA back from the dead (wub wub wub). I took the 4sale sign off it and have been restoring it to it's former glory, and then some. It will be killing mustangs in no time! Keep up the great vids Greg, can't wait to see more of that sweet sweet VVT action!!!
I bought my nb1 a little over 2 years ago, i planned to play to the car's strengths and focus on chassis and suspension mods and just do some simple bolt ons but keep it naturally aspirated. i have a friend that has a k swapped miata and he's been the devil on my shoulder talking me into going turbo. Broke and Boosted gave me the knowledge and confidence that i can so a turbo build one piece at a time myself. I haven't purchased any turbo parts yet because there's still a lot parts that I have waiting to go on. The VVT build did the same thing for me with engine internals. I just picked up a used bp4w and plan to rebuild it with forged internals and go for some good power. It's going to be YEARS before the car is done, but one little bit at a time. Your videos are also some of the best best quality and stay on topic/track. I enjoyed them so much it made me want to work on some tutorial video and I just put together a very long video on retrofitting some led rings in the tail lights, check it out in my channel. Should work the same for NA miatas too
broke&boosted inspired me to start collecting parts for my own turbo build and i would have no idea what i was doing without your videos. Thank you greg and thank you little miata! i'll be boostin on some foos next week :D
I picked up a red 94 and it is my first miata build, I instantly started saveing all broken boosted videos for future use because I know they are all going to be handy, the way you built the car up is how I feel I'm going to progress on my build, thanks for all the info while build B&B,
I agree with your decision. B&B fulfilled its purpose, and the information from that series is greatly appreciated. It will be a while before my car goes turbo, but when it does, I will be referring to your videos. I seriously cannot wait until your main car is back online.
I actually ended up keeping B&B waaay longer than I intended and did at least 3-4x as many videos as I planned because I kept getting more ideas. I can't wait either, I needed more time and motivation to work on it!!
bab was the reason i started to mess with turbos on my car which was a miata. i learned alot more then i would have and i even tho the car broke down i still had a blast following the build and "building" mine.
Well my story isn't exactly about broke and boosted but more generally it's about you And your content!! I was 14 and I did a simple Google search. "easily modded cars" number three was the miata and first thing I did was come to RUclips and I came across your channel! man I worked my a** off for a year and a half at my local coffee shop. getting minimum wage, and a week before I even got my permit I came across the perfect miata. 66k miles, 1994 m edition with abs. it was in a bubble until 2004. it had 21 miles on it in 2004 and it came with verification of it!!! the first real owner was a complete maintenance nut too! And now through my hard work at the coffee shop I have landed a high paying job at an architecture company! And I'm only 17. I'll tell you what. my little miata is about to get the upgraded shes been waiting 23 years for!! all thanks to you Greg!
I've always wanted a miata and I've always wanted a turbo car seeing this video series gave me some if the knowledge and things to look out for while boosting a car. It provided that missing link I needed for the oil feed and certain things like that thanks for being so detailed with everything on broke and boosted.
I watched B&B while I was at work and not only did your enthusiasm get me off my ass to finally start modding my Mazdaspeed 3, I decided to start filming my installs too! So yeah Greg, thanks for helping me go broke!!! LoL!
It only inspired me to build my own turbo miata! Almost identical spec as the broke&boosted. So sad to see it go, but happy to see you are boosting the VVT progress!
Watching your channel, especially the B&B series inspired me to buy a NA Miata and start a project of my own. I had a mk3 supra before and I wasn't motivated to do anything with it and it was just kind of sitting there gathering dust. When I saw your videos, I put it up for sale and went to look for Miata's immediately. I've had her for a week and I'm currently painting her and plan boosting it as soon as that's finished because there's no Mustang that's gonna be faster than me hahaha! Love you channel Greg, thanks for the replies and all the content you put out. Easily my favorite car channel on RUclips right now. By the way, how that burrito was worth it, we don't have that quality here in Florida :/
The entire broke and boosted series inspired me to get my own miata and turn it into the ultimate sleeper. Stock rims and turbo parts are going to be ordered within the week. I followed every video to pick the best parts for my money and I will surely miss b&b. thanks Craig
Actually I have a good story on how your channel helped me. One time when I had my NA Miata me and my girlfriend went to go get some food when my shifter in third gear popped out. My shifter was straight sideways and the bushing and bolts were loose and popped out. So I had to pull over and pull the shifter out so I can at least put it in 2nd gear to get back home. ( riding the clutch but still works.) lol but back to the story I looked up shifter bushing right when I pulled over and your video helped me take the shifter out and reseat it and also when I got home buy the parts and replace it. So to that I say thank you 😎
Hate to see it go, but a new chapter is always good. Just wanted you to know that b&b helped me a ton on my build. I'm a DSM nut, on a pretty tight budget. But I've found the 4g63t is a close design, easy crossover. Now I really want a rwd turbo, mostly from your great content. so keep it up bro.
@TheCarPassionChannel, Well i am sad to see her go, but i am definitely exited to see what is coming down the line now :D been Following you for a while now, right before broke and boosted. With all the work, and tutorials and so much quality information you have put out to the Miata community with broke and boosted, i salute you. It has pushed me to start planning a rebuild of my NA which will be soon getting a new engine and trans, it will be my daily and eventually the goal is track / auto-cross. Id like to document my work and progress on the car just as you have to share the love for the miata just as you have with broke and boosted. (I am now considering a VVT instead of a 1.6 because of your new build )
Not only Brooke and Boosted but also your main Miata is the real reason why I got into roadsters. I first had a NB8B then I sold it to buy a crashed NB8B and a clean shell NA8. Now I am in the process of a drivetrain and interior swap. The Miata was the first car I have ever worked on and when this thing runs its gonna be MAAAAAD !
Greg, I watched all the episodes of broke and boosted before I even got a miata. I think you played a huge part in my purchase of my miata, and you definatly inspired my build.
I literally bought my own miata just to build it like broke and boosted by myself. I'm currently on the build of running on O2 sensor bypass, and I've killed about 3 clutches now (mostly because I didn't do them myself until your video of how to) you and it have been a huge inspiration to my car build. 91 NA (but not naturally aspirated anymore lol)
Greg I am gone miss Broke&Boosted Project but is a wise and good choice one project ate a time that vvt build is gone be EPIC!!! Looking forward to see more vids keep it up
Greg you're literally the reason half of the Miata's out there are turbo'd. If that's not an accomplishment to be proud of then I don't know what is. Good luck with you're next projects!
Your definitely the reason I started my RUclips channel and why I did The build on my Altima and why I keep modding it every day I love your videos I just hope I can make the videos as good as yours
cant believe it! but we arnt saying RIP to B&B she lives on. your videos motivated so many people myself included to buy an miata. thank you for all your time in doing so and taking us with you fixing her up! i really hope you stick with miatas at least. cant wait till then next video.
supercharged s2000 guy here but love watching your content. Things might of been done on the cheap at times but you still done it properly. Loved your video on the megasquirt ecu making me consider ditching my AEM for the MS3
broke and boosted helped me learn alot about miatas!! Specially when I had to change the water pump and timing belt thanks for the videos keep it up and I will be using those videos for future references for my broke and boosted [:
Good choice getting rid of the b&b. it was already a done deal, No need to chuck heaps of money at it for more power since it already perfectly shows an example build of a boosted miata on the budget :) Keep up the Good content. and good luck on the vvt build!!!
Greg, keep up the great content. My story an how i came to your channel is because of haggard garage, Mainly Ricer miata because I found this channel because I liked his channel. Needless to say now I have a 1993 Mazda miata, running great but it is rebuilt, still a good miata but just got my stage 3 clutch today with the lightweight flywheel gonna put it in ASAP.
dude I've loved watching broke and boosted it's a shame you've got rid but it is what it is and I wish you good luck with your vvt build/secret project as I've had my car for about four years now and you've imparted so much knowledge about these cars also you've given me the drive to finish my build..... hopefully it'll be done by the fourth of august/my 30th birthday much love and keep up the good work ✌
after everything you went through with broke & boosted i'm happy to report that i used A LOT of good information & now my 92 miata is boosted on a budget :) thank you for all those super helpful videos & i hope you get another miata . maybe a NB?
Can't thank you enough for such awesome content. My only wish was that you had full list of thinks you needed for the turbo and summary of how to install them.
Loved broke and boosted. Made me start planning a turbo setup for my 1989 TX5 aka GD Mazda 626 GT with a weak g series gearbox and legendary FE dohc .Gearbox will be strengthened with internals from GE 626 if they fit and diff pin welded so it cant explode. I knew the basics already wideband ecu fuelling etc just watching each step and seeing how it can be done makes me want to get wrenching. Will be a while before I can see it let alone start working on it. The best car is always the one you build up for yourself.
your channel is the reason i bought my NB miata, im currently saving up for a K swap. anyway, love your channel, cant wait to see how the vvt build comes along!
Broke & Boosted inspired me to take my Miata away from stock and to do modifications in general. Haven't done much yet, but I've got plans... It also introduced me to your channel :)
The broke and boosted really inspired me to have one, now my car is really stock and is intended to drift here in Puerto Rico but, some day it will be turbo. just for now it have a welded diff and I hope to be in the next drift event with it. Thank you so much for the broke and boosted peace out man
broke and boosted is basically the only reason i bought a miata, i always liked them but the support network for them and especially this channel encouraged me to buy one and work on it. i guess 300zx for the next project, this i would also love haha
Since I discovered Broke & Boosted my goal is to turbo my Miata but before I do that I try to learn as much as possible so it will probably take a couple of years to do so but it will get boosted at some point! Your B&B video's helped a lot with my turbo research and I thank you for that! I fully understand why you sold that car and I'm very excited for your next project! My guess would be.. ITB Miata? :-)
You and your broken made me take my friend car after he past now she running and all because of you so thank you for give that hope and make my friends Mazda run again he look down happy so thank you man
I love your channel bro. youre the reason im trying to get my first project car tho its prolly going to be a mr2 pre-90s :) keep up the good energy bro. one love
I was looking into buying my first rwd car and I now own a 2000 nb, because of this channel. thanks for the vids, advise, and making me want to mod my car lol.
I would be down to see you take on anything but a miata but regardless I'll still be watching your vids! You've taught me a lot more than what I usually find on the internet so thanks a lot for what you do!
I have a stock 91 red Miata. It's so slow. I think you convinced me boosting it isn't gonna be that expensive. So now I gotta do it. Thank you for all the links to make it possible. It's gonna be awesome. Sleeper assasin Miata!
Cant wait to see the vvti come together and see the new car! I bought my first miata because of your videos! I ended up selling it and buying a 240 but will always love miatas... hope you get a different car! (Not a miata!)
wow my heart is broke :'( I'm getting rid of my miata too to focus on my build. it sucks but you still have a miata AND the vvt build is going to be awesome.... keep up the good work man
waaaa! Broke and Boosted is probably feeling confused, sad and lost! I'm not into the racing, drifting or stance side of miata but did learn a lot from your videos to apply to my 92. Most notable are the Shifter rebuild, coilovers, clutch master and how to build correctly when getting a used one.
Love your videos. I Race a spec miata (1994) and now thinking about buying a parts car and turbo it. Don’t listen to the haters on your Stache.....it’s yours and nobody can take that from you.
Too bad :(. You inspired me to turbo my mx5 with B&B, i learned so much from your videos Thank you, and may your next project inspire me just as much :)
b&b motivated me to get a miata I don't have one currently but this is the best moats channel I'm gonna miss broke and boosted its not as powerful as your other moats but it was definetly special glad it went to a good owner
I recently did a ton of work on my ’92 NA6. She started having overheating issues, and
after watching most of your videos multiple times and reading up a lot on the
forums, I decided to tackle it. Up until
this point, I’d only ever done spark plugs, oil changes and brakes. I knew I wanted to change the water pump as
that seemed to be the issue, and after finding out how involved it was I
decided to replace quite a bit of stuff while in there. Also, while researching all of this and
finding out what parts I’d need, I stumbled upon the valve seal guide on your
website, and decided give that a go as well as she was burning oil.
All in all, I replaced the water pump, radiator, all water
hoses, valve seals, cam seals, crank seal, CAS O-ring, valve cover gasket,
timing belt and pulleys, accessory belts, and valve cover gasket. In addition, I also installed the m-tuned
reroute following your video.
I don’t think I’d have done any of that work myself without
all the quality videos from you Greg.
Awesome to hear :D:D
TheCarPassionChannel
hey Greg.......I'm way in the Bahamas and after seeing your channels inspired me to buy, and turbo my miata when will the channel's resume?
bought and rebuilt an entire 96 and boosted with your help and a lot of blood sweat and tears . puts a smile on my face everyday. thanks
colton card what did you rebuild exactly? :)
J Rod I agree 100%, but life is for living. I have to try.
but broke and boosted inspired me to build my car. i have a 1986 e30 with a 3.0 bored 85mm pistons,e36m3 crankshaft, forged 135mm rods and forged heads. i first started doing this build bc i saw your broke and boosted channel. i was about to give up on the whole megasquirt idea until your channel came up on my suggestions list. from what i read miats and e30s have almost the same megasquirt setup so i binged watched your channel and literally figured out how to install/run and set up megasquirt within the day then the hours of reading on forums. after watching you turbo brokeandboosted i did the same tap and drill bit you used and used your knowledge of how to tap and where to tap your car and applied it to my own car. honestly your whole channel and attitude has inspired me to fix my car and mod it. i always loved how you modded your car with hand tools and always made it look so clean. great ups to you man i could go on and on about how your miata inspired my e30 bmw build but thats to much reading. you are a great person and im glad boosted went to a true enthusiast. if you ever want to check out pics of my car my instagram is Boss_Hogg89 i have a few videos of it as well as its still under construction. also if you dont mind the random selfies and weightloss pics i have because well i dont have a seperate ig page for my car lol.
Cheers.
FD RX7. I'm calling it. you heard it here first!
Sebastian Eschenbach wrong
Nope. 2SJ: nitrous
Keep up the amazing work, excited to see what comes next.
noooooo :((((
well, greg...your b&b series inspired me to actually buy a miata and ive loved every moment of driving it. im hoping to boost it in the next year or so...i haven't added any parts yet but im currently saving for a megasquirt. ive watched almost every one of the b&b videos just to make sure i picked up all your wisdom and i cant wait to put all of it into my own miata.
Patrick Maloney That's what I'm talkin boutttttttttttt
all of your vids inspired me from your main miata to broke and boosted....ive started with a standard 90 eunos 1.6...im running a td04l turbo at wastegate pressure its making 180whp on the snc engine with 140k on the clock....in the next few days im getting a mk2 1.6 engine delivered with plans to forge it over a few months and then drop it in.....none of this would have happened without your videos man you and b&b guided me through megasquirt install got me tuned enough to get to the pros and 6 months later the only thing wrong with the car is i blew a hole in one of my boost pipes chasing a wrx sti lol. sad to see you move on from broke and boosted dude but i think u made the right choice.
Awww. May she live on happily! She is carrying my old Miata's differential and windows after all!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
GearHeads HE GOT THE WINDOWS FROM YOU WHEN HE BROKE THEM FOR THAT VIDEO?
Yup! Those were from the wrecked white car that we are rebuilding from, my old baby ='( The differential was too, but that had already been out and sitting in my garage for a year lol
GearHeads turbo yours
T1GR3S13 We are man, as soon as I can. We've hit a few problems that slowed us down but dont worry the turbo build is coming!
the broke and boosted series and your channel alone made up my choice on what my first project car should be, went out and bought a 90' almost a year ago now, because I knew if I needed to know how to install or fix anything I have your channel to come to for help. which is what I have been doing for the past year. can't wait for the next build!!
You traded it for a burrito
I kinda jumped right into the car scene and I'm getting tons of compliments :) your videos gave me the confidence I needed to go down this road and now I feel like I have a nack for it.
thanks to your broke and boosted videos i bought myself a miata... decided i wanted to go off roading and started to build it i got the project started but after 2 months the engine blew... currently i want to put a rotary engine on it but it has been a little hard due to my miney situation but thanks for making vids and helping me get out of my comfort zone and taking the build where i did it was super fun and hopefully we can see the vvti miata do awesome things
your my go to for my noob mods. such good in depth explanations! not ready for engine building but will keep watching
Broke and boosted was my introduction to this channel and it inspired me to pick up my current '91 Miata. Love it to pieces!
I'm using the broke and boosted vids to help boost my own miata currently. I ordered all the parts last night. Thanks again for the videos.
Congrats! You've actually inspired me to tune my cars myself instead of relying on others to do the tuning for me.
Thank you greg and thank you little miata! i'll be boostin on some foos next week :D
nice shirt you got there ;) thanks for all the support man!
Fully boosted a miata of a friend with mspnp2 and your help. And bought myself a miata Turbo which i improved with your help. Thanks for that!
I bought my na6 Miata because of you. I've always wanted one but I didn't have a plan of action until you put out all your tips and tutorials.
This channel made me buy a Miata NB and it's the most fun car I've had so far! Thanks Greg!
Best wishes Greg, no matter the project. Your videos are informative, regardless.
Dude every video you've made has inspired and motivated me to build and upgrade my miata. Soon to be turboed once I upgrade a few more things.
You inspired me to do my first can belt and water pump change on my mk1 and it actually went well.
Cheers Greg
your channel is the reason i bought my NB miata, im currently saving up for a K swap. anyway, love your channel, cant wait to see how the vvt build comes along!
The only reason I have my miata is because of you! I've had the best time with this car ever since
Since I discovered Broke & Boosted my goal is to turbo my Miata but before I do that I try to learn as much as possible so it will probably take a couple of years to do so but it will get boosted at some point!
(Not a miata!)
wow my heart is broke :'(
I'm getting rid of my miata too to focus on my build. it sucks but you still have a miata AND the vvt build is going to be awesome.... keep up the good work man
Understandable. I can't wait to see more videos of VVT!👍🏼
waaaa! Broke and Boosted is probably feeling confused, sad and lost! I'm not into the racing, drifting or stance side of miata but did learn a lot from your videos to apply to my 92. Most notable are the Shifter rebuild, coilovers, clutch master and how to build correctly when getting a used one.
1:24 " *Looks at watch, has no watch* " lmao Sad to see it go! But hopefully to bigger and better things! I'll stay subbed for sure
The megasquirt videos on that car saved my life man
Watching your broke and boosted inspired me to turbo my miata!😮sad to see it go, loved watching the videos. Can't wait to see this VVTI beast tho!
Love your videos. I Race a spec miata (1994) and now thinking about buying a parts car and turbo it. Don’t listen to the haters on your Stache.....it’s yours and nobody can take that from you.
THE WATER PUMP AND TIMING BELT VIDEO. Gave me the confidence and got that shit done
Also the how to buy a used miata.. obviously helped
The fact that it's going to someone that was looking at it for a long time eases my heart. Can't wait for the secret reveal
Too bad :(. You inspired me to turbo my mx5 with B&B, i learned so much from your videos
Thank you, and may your next project inspire me just as much :)
b&b motivated me to get a miata I don't have one currently but this is the best moats channel I'm gonna miss broke and boosted its not as powerful as your other moats but it was definetly special glad it went to a good owner
