    From Trance/House to Rave/Techno and now, Acid! An absolutely killer mix! I mess with this vibe so much, all those genres being represented on this console is fantastic, it competes very much with the Genesis on the House & Rave styles, but the SNES, no question takes the cake for Acid style, the sampling of the SPC-700 was made for it.
    And what a way to start it off with that Incredible Hulk track, your mixes helped me realize the brilliance of that OST, and while the Funk is so funkin' good on it (will get to the praising of that on a future mix, hehe), I did not realize it had bangin' Electronic/Acid vibes as well, talk about Steve Collett showing he can get down on that! And of course gotta give love to Tel, the Winter Gold soundtrack has been a favorite for me, and a shame Jeroen didn't get to do more soundtracks on that console. Love the vibes each song brings, Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety's OST does not get enough love, and hot damn Kenji Yamazaki comes back again, that Pachinko game very much feels like the in-between of Shrini Game 2 and Logos Panic which the game was apparently released between. And I absolutely love the XBand tracks, even if that was the only video game music Turpin did, it's some of the best in encapsulating the pure 90's acid and rave vibes, it's truly the peak of this style on the SNES. And not surprising Japan only games had such tasty acid tracks, the Mahjong track is so catchy with that one melody I always hum it without realizing it, and of course an SNK IP game has stellar music, that company had it down when it came to the sound team. Also love when a game has a bunch of Unused tracks and you get such a standout like the one on Ninja Kun, it's like a hidden treat to discover! Nice to see Tekkyu Fight return, as well as Tactical Soccer? Hot damn why does that Soccer game have such good jams?! And the ending ties everything together on this GSTMIX so well, a shame Eurit got unreleased on the SNES, because I love the industrial vibe of that OST, another hidden gem lost to the obscurity of being discovered through the SPC files, but so glad it exists nonetheless!
    Thankfully less of a wall of text recently, but doesn't mean I love the mix any less, sometimes my appreciation is straight forward and simple, and the Acid mix is super fun and I get down with it just like the previous two themes on the GST/EXT mixes, superb work as always anosci!

    It blows my mind how they crammed out such amezing dance music out of an snes,and it really sounds like as if it comes out of a CD player,i can hardly believe that these are just adpcm samples.

    I was not prepared for this channel and its mixes to bang so hard but it does. Lovely mixing, incredibly on point aesthetic presentation, cool anecdotes. Bravo.

    9:23 Paul Ruskay?! There's a name I wasn't expecting to see here. He went on to do the amazing soundtracks of the Homeworld games.
    Great mix!

    "(Eurit) was eventually released as Grid Runner on the PSX and Saturn."
    Oh wow. I got Grid Runner out of a Blockbuster discount bin for like 2 bucks long ago, and while the game itself is sort of mehhhh (It's basically like a 1v1 Pac-Man CTF...Deathmatch?), the redbook audio soundtrack was good enough that I would pop it in many times now and then just for the music.
    I'm pretty sure the music being good is why I bothered putting the game on my Pi + PSClassic setups, too :)
    (EDIT: Ohhh, and the game mechanics also have a bit of 'Tag' to them...so..."Eurit" = "You're 'It'"...I get it now :D)
    (EDIT #2: ...and now having seen gameplay of Eurit, which constantly says "You're 'It'", and marks one player is 'It'...duhhhh, heh)

    Such a sick mix; kinda crazy how Separation Anxiety had such a diametrically opposed soundtrack to its predecessor, Maximum Carnage -- which was almost entirely heavy metal based.

    The unused tracks from Super Ninja-Kun ARE used... but you need to change a menu setting to do so. So far, I have failed to actually identify them having done that... the default setting is more focused on the SFX than the music, unlike other games.

      @GSTChannelVEVO  Год назад +1

      I try to keep all of the songs at around the same tempo and key so they blend better.
      this is far from the worst case of slowing down a song, too. lol

      @@GSTChannelVEVO thanks for the reply, that makes sense tho, after all you do have to, y'know, mix the tracks. great mix tho!

    Un-ts, un-ts, un-ts, un-ts, un-ts, un-ts, un-ts. I couldn't take 10 minutes of essentially the same 4 bars of music, sorry. I am your single dislike. Harsh, aren't I.

      @GSTChannelVEVO  4 года назад +3

      nah, that's perfectly understandable. I love my un-ts, but I realize not everybody will!
      mostly I appreciate you taking the time to comment on why you gave a dislike.

      @@GSTChannelVEVO I like your channel GST but your videos rely on you taking the time to sieve through thousands of hours of game music. But I pity you when you chose to cover the SNES because it's fairly difficult to differentiate most of it. 64KB of space for drivers, sound effects and musical instruments and midi information leaves very little room to manoeuvre when engineering your sample set.
      I've been making dance music since I was about 15 and I know my onions but this video just didn't do much to hold my attention.
      You have to dig DEEP to find anything of interest in the SNES library of music despite the idea that samples offer the ability to reproduce any instrument, with a 4bit core file bitrate at 11Khz and 52kbps sample rate, interpolation + reverb and echo you get the same sounds over and over.
      Good luck though! Maybe you can put together a gabba mix with that DoLucky no Puzzle Tour game track I mentioned last year.

      I'm happy with the dance-flavored mixes I've done for the SNES. I'm going to shift my focus to... literally any other genre lol.
      right now I'm digging around for something fun and orchestral to show off. arguably this could be equally uninteresting. I guess we'll both find out at the end of this month!
