Here is a brief history about your question; The decisive battle of the Greco-Turkish War (1919-1922) was fought near Afyon 300km east of İzmir. On 26-27 August 1922, the Turkish Army under the overall command of Mustafa Kemal breached the Greek lines southeast of Afyon and chased the retreating Greek forces which were surrounded and routed at the Battle of Dumlupınar on 30 August. The War continued till the second week of September but the date of the Battle of Dumlupınar was selected as the victory day since it was the decisive blow.
We have been going to Calis for many years now and ❤ it. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Im enjoying your videos, very informative and you have great personalities 👍
Thanks for a great tour. I am often coming to Fethie but did not see some of the places yet you have shown and definetely need to expore that dolmush to Calis! Great video👌
Actually, most of the Germans and Brits you see in Çalış are not tourists. The Çalış region, along with Bodrum-Bitez, Marmaris and Kalkan, is one of the places where most of the British and German retirees are permanently settled. Most of them have houses and if you go down to that area at night, I think you will understand this much better. :) In addition, the reason why most people do not prefer Çalış beach is that it is always wavy, families with children do not prefer it because of large rocks, and the wind always blows so much. Tourists and residents of that area generally prefer Belcekız beach or Ölüdeniz. I think you will understand the difference when you go there.^^
My wife and I retired to the Fetiye area 2 years ago and we love it. The paspateur is a tourist trap and over expensive. Be careful driving is precarious. The 12 island tours doesn't exist its inlets as their arent 12 islands in the bay. Also small boats hog the coastline and don't cross the bay to better inlets. Dolmus its 13tl for any journey between calis and Fetiye unless you have a kentkart then it's 8.75tl
Your welcome just to address some things hope that helps. At your next destination watch out for the parachute people on the main pathway. Try going up cable car amazing views if it's clear
Very nice, indeed! BTW, Fethiye and the neighbouring Dalyan are the first choice of retired British citizens, while the Germans prefer Alanya for spending their retirement years.
Another great place! If I were to choose one place from those you have already visited, I wouldn't be able to decide which one I would like to visit and stay for a week or two. And English breakfast is great, too but the best I had out of the UK, in Greece for example. Do you have the same type of breakfast in Irland, or is it different? And I love the waves in the sea, they are huge and moving all the time, not as calm as in e.g. Greece.
Are you going to visit Baba dag mountain and Oludeniz? More suggestions Kas, Kekova Island..😊..Fethiye has large expat community a lot of British people living there 😀
As an Irish man can you give us the Irish accent version as well as the British lol.. really good take on Brit accent btw. Place looks so amazing. Thanks for another brilliant video 😊 love it ❤️
Go to Saklikent by dolmuş 1 day. Buy watershoes for Saklikent. Bring food and drinks with you because in Saklikent they rip you off. The entrance fee into the gorge is a correct price. You can also do rafting in Saklikent. Saklikent has two rivers, The first is wild and the second is very calm. Try to remember the route. The dolmuş in Saklikent back to Fethiye goes from the parkinglot another day; Rent a car and go to Yakapark for a few hours and from Yakapark go to Gizlikent. Go early ,like 8 o clock. The route to Yakapark is for an hour or so the same to Saklikent. From Yakapark to Gizlikent you will see something amazing on your left which is free to visit. ( i forgot the name ) Gizlikent has a 100 ft high waterfall. If you forgat your watershoes to Gizlikent don't wory, you can borrow them in Gizlikent. Saklikent and Gizlikent and Yakapark are stunning beautifull.
Day 3 ; Near Fethiye is Göçek , maybe half an hour with the dolmuş. Book a boattour in Göçek before 9pm or 10 pm and when you return from the boattour have a diner and stay in the evening. Go back to Fethiye at 21:30 or so. You might see celebreties. Day 4; Book a tour in Çalis promenade to Dalyan. Day 5 ; The best Hamam and massages you get in Çiftlik which you can also book on Çalis promenade. Don't go to the hamam in Fethiye Paspartur. Day 6 ; The market in Fethiye is very big and there is one man selling Levi pair of jeans. I think it is fake levi but the funny thing is they are better. It's the best pair of jeans i have ever bought and the best looking in my closet. Exit the market on the side of the mosque which you also must visit. ( Take of your shoes ) and walk to Fethiye center. Take the left sidewalk / pavement , The best barber and best experience best haircut you get is on the left side. It's an old man, very nice and a perfectionist.
Well, it's the kind of holiday ( oh yes, it's called a vacation in America) that I would really enjoy. Spent half my life living in a city along what the locals "the North Coast" of the USA, in my case dreary Lake Erie, but this doesn't t look like a modern urban area. The temples are of interest and the town reminds me of amusement park arcade area minus the games that are simply designed to empty your pockets of money. You forgot to mention the most important attraction for those so live in foggy cold places. It's warm, perhaps hot, with plenty of sunshine.
Were at Fethiye a week ago for 2 weeks. And I got an answer why at Calis beach so much free space: cause it is extremely dirty, including dogs poo, and other enjoyable things. Almost like at UK beaches:)
Hi I am thinking of going here I am a Muslim who wears face veil. Did you see anyone wearing this and or lots of women with headscarf? Just wondering if this place is not so Islamic anymore or if they would be bothered by my dress :) thank u 😊
I feel bad after 2 months no one has been able to give you feedback. Hopefully there are folks on Google or FB groups that could help you out… Good luck and enjoy your trip

LOL There hasn't been turtles nesting on the beach for a long time. If you look, locals and tourists alike ignore the signs and sun where they want. And yes, the beach gets trashy. Those environmental signs are great for PR.
@@lerryngray They take better care than the rest of Calis. There is no way turtles could nest on the majority of the beach with no one caring and monitoring. The signs are completely ignored.
Fethiye is very unique, full of possibilities and a beautiful place to be… enjoy it with us!
As an older person is it possible to get up to the tombs by bus/taxi .I couldn't manage to hike up there on foot .Any ideas ?

How hot is it in mid May?
If I stay there so I need to visit Antalya separately or it similar ?
Would you recommend cezme-alacati or fethiye? Pls suggest.
You should go Saklıkent National Park, Patara Beach and Kaş town

What was the name of the place/ restaurant you had your breakfast in calis beach. Turkey called. 👍🏻
