Came to Fethiye in 1998 planned to stay 3 months but lived and worked there 5 years, loved Fethiye in the winter and it is still in my heart.

I've only been to Turkey 3 times but visited all the places mentioned and I've been to many of countrys but I can EASILY say that Turkey is the most beautiful and friendly country I have ever been too I would move out there tomorrow if I could!
Why not! My husband is an American and I am Turkish. He really wants to move to Turkey, We will probably move my home town Antalya :)

I was in Calis, Fethiye and Dalyan 7 times during 2019 absolutely beautiful, Can't wait to go back.

Great video Mick, really enjoyed seeing my beloved Calis Beach and Fethiye! I bought an apartment at Calis in Sept last year and I'm really gutted I've not been able to get out there because of lockdown and flights being cancelled. Hopefully in 2021, inshallah!

I was stationed there during my mandatory military service. This vid took me back. I live overseas now but sometimes i feel like I should have started a business and stayed in Fethiye! But, I think i can always retire there like you did.

I miss Fethiye so much...
We spent 12 days there last summer. It was such a nice experience! These beautiful sunsets are incredibly breath-taking!!!! Thanks a lot for making it possible to get an overview of the amazing place in the winter. ♥️♥️

Thanks Mick. You have much better job than our state institutions. I really don't understand how Ministry of Tourism keeps ignoring this beautiful side of Turkey. I think there is a big deal in Antalya for the Hotel that there is no such a good project to develop Fethiye, Göcek, Kaş, KAlkan etc. Keep going mate

can i ask why western people who lives outside of europe considered as expats while vice-versa people are considered immigrants? is this sth to do with european supremacism?
@@ogunkovan It is. Turks (Muslims) would/will never be welcomed as foreigners in Turkey are. That is just a fact. Because Europe is fasicst
No need to fight about labels. People are free to choose the word they want to use for themselves. Some may instinctively call people from non-western countries 'immigrants' and western ones 'expats', not because of bad intentions but usually because they don't think about every word before use (and subconsciously follow what is heard or read on TV/newspapers).

Ahhh!! but you should have seen Fethiye in the 60s and 70s...it was truly a wonderful fishing village paradise.
It’s so great to see the works as they go along. Thank you for doing this, it’s so hard every year when we have to return to the UK. Not too many years before we can spend more time in Çalış Plajı.
Hi Mick we went a couple of years ago for christmas. We are planning on moving over when I retire which was 2 weeks ago, so now I am waiting for restrictions to ease and we will start a new chapter in our lives. We have visited since the mid-1990s and know Fethiye quite well. We know its hit or miss in December with the weather but luckily our visit was OK. We lived in Dalyan for quite a few years and visited Fethiya lots of times.
Seeing it growing into a wonderful modern, vibrant place to live and visit. Do miss a few of the old bits though.
We were delighted when they built the Tunnel making the journey up less hazardous😀

We stay in Hisaronu in the summer and visit Fethiya and go to Calis ( very quiet this July) We have booked again for 2021. Great informative vids, keep them coming. We went to Help beach for a day this time and loved it.
