I don't have any really fancy mics, as I am a humble small, home studio producer and artist, but the acoustic guitar is in most of the songs I've recorded. I agree that in a full mix it doesn't really matter. I've had really good recordings from my AT 2035 and my AKG p420 as well as the trusty SM57... so I focus more on the performance and placement over a fancy, expensive microphone. Rock on!
To be fair, the song is not necessarily important enough for a good acoustic guitar sound anyway. If this was, say, an early Simon and Garfunkel song, or an acoustic Neil Young type song, the differences would be better audible and therefore more important.
