    As a rich man with more money than sense, Al Fayed was driven more by his emotions than his reason to seek to become a British citizen. He could have bought a Maltese or Cypriot passport more easily, and without pesky conditions about tax or residence. Before Brexit those would have been just as good for him.

    Three major subjects are going on here: First, Dodi's father, Mohammad Al-fayed wants a "progress report" on Diana and Dodi becoming PARENTS.
    Secondly Princess Ann is always the keen and intuitive one of the family. Ann was correct when she said that the Al-fayed family wanted to become legal British citizens ( for the longest time ).
    Thirdly, Prince Philip and Mohammed Al-fayed never got along well from what I read. As much as Al-fayed tried with Philip, Philip wouldn't relax to the idea of a friendship and I can see why. I'm guessing Al-fayed was pushy and too willful. I did see some pictures of the statue of princess Diana that Al-fayed placed in his Harrod's Department Store. The statue looks odd or out of place. I'm wondering what William and Harry thought about it? Al-fayed probably had big dreams of Diana coming into his family - that would have been a major feather in his cap! He supposedly disliked Prince Philip very much and probably wanted to shock and annoy him and what better way probably than to take a popular princess away from her family and her religion. Indirectly, William the future king would be "related" to Dodi and Mohammed Al-fayed...

      Her view is correct. Diana LOVED the attention she received. If she hadn’t married Prince Charles, she would have been like her Sisters. She would probably still be alive. I do NOT believe the Royal Family had anything to do with her death. She was an unhappy person even with Dodi, and he was just another man to get revenge on the Royal Family with. The whole crash almost seems like Fate. Think that the car hit the 13th pillar as it crashed. I remember being up late and the news announcement that she had been in an accident in Paris. Then the news she was dead. It seemed so impossible. Now she is a part of History. If nothing else, King Charles has tried to raise his children with love and strength. I think he’s been a good Father.

    Honestly, I would have preferred Dr. Haznat Khan as a second husband for Princess Diana, over Dodi Fayed. He just seemed such a player and she deserved someone who would love and care for her and be a grownup in the relationship. But Dr. Khan didn't want the press circus around and who could blame him? But then it meant that she had to find someone with a whole lot of money and who could give her a life without being hounded by them. But that was never ever going to happen unless she wanted to basically live under house arrest in a luxury estate on a private island, which is what Jackie Kennedy Onassis did after the assassination of President Kennedy. I think Princess Diana had an attraction to good looking but weak men which is fine if all you're looking for is lots of fun and good times. Maybe that was all she wanted at that stage. But we never found out if she would have been able to find her happiness because of the horrible situation that occurred that ended her life.

    • @JoanMorrison-vq2jc
      @JoanMorrison-vq2jc Месяц назад +4

      Dr. Khan's family enjoyed meeting Diana but that was quickly the end of it. Khan's family refused to have him MARRY Diana!! I'm guessing she didn't want to be in his country for too long and she would have missed her two boys and her friends and her few charities were in England and I'm sure she was seen as unsuitable and an embarrassment because of her wayward lifestyle. Maybe the Khan family wanted a quiet Muslim wife for Dr. Khan. Basically the Khan family were hospitable but very FIRM that "Lady" Diana got out of their son's life. They were very proud of Dr. Khan until he took Diana home. They were aware of how grossly disrespectful Diana was at Buckingham Palace and plotting on the royal family. I'm wondering if his family viewed Diana as controversial or a troublemaker and just another playgirl from the west? Diana seemed to be a loose cannon and probably the family wanted someone who was stable and sensible and easy going - not selfish or stubborn or spoiled as Diana was.
