Straightforward and clear video. Most seem to have either just visuals and no explanation or too much explanation. You're right on the mark here imo. Thanks for sharing! Going looking for your IG now. 🙂

William: Buckleguy sells small empty markers that are perfect for a half water/half Tokonole mix. Then you apply it to your edges with the marker. Much more control over amount and placement of the Tokonole. Just makes it a bit easier. The 50/50 mix makes sure it will flow through the nib.

      Hi Bruce, brilliant suggestion.

@@W.CambridgeLeatherCraft Got the idea from Tim at Black Flag Leather. I have used a marker for my edge paint for years. Never thought about Tokonole. Thought it would clog the felt marker tip. It does not.

Thank you! 🙌 I'm making leather straps for a DIY curtain rod and I wasn't sure how I'd create the finishing touch, now I know. 😄

I should probably order a #0 edge beveller. I have two new #1s with different profiles but I’m not able to peel much off to begin with on thin leather. After I use the slicker, a burr forms on the dges and only then can I use the edge beveller to remove that. Obviously I’m new to this so my technique is flawed. Never heard of a pump marker. Interesting video!

Don't press so hard on the slicker. A little sandpaper will remove the burr. Or use a flat slicker to remove it. Put a little water on it' lay it flat on the table edge and use the flat slicker on it.
Make your own slickers. Just be sure to remove the saw dust from the slicker after you sand it. Sawdust will keep leather edges from developing a shine. Any kind of wood will work. Use sandpaper to make the stick smooth or wrap it around a screwdriver shank and make a round one or triangular one. Whatever you see fit. You can even use bee's wax or any kind of wax on the edges. The friction heat will melt the wax into the edges. Or use shoe shine to seal the edges.
Try all this on a scrap piece of leather and see how you like it first.

It has to be veg tan I'm afraid, for chrome tan you'll have dto use edge paint.

What do you put in the pump marker for edge dye?

How long should the Tokonole cure before burnishing? Do you work with the grain, or it doesn't matter? Thank you.

I'm a little confused... You have "Glass burnish" in your title, but never actually use a glass burnisher? Did you mean to say "burnish to a glass like finish" instead? Good video otherwise, except I had searched on RUclips to find a video on how to use the glass burnisher
