Oh gosh, who would thought that corona break can be a blessing from disguise! Old WTA matches from the 90s!!! Please gave us classic Miami matches like 91 & 92 SF between Sabatini and Graf, also that nightmare of Sabatini - Date match in 1995. Or upsets like Seles-Capriati 1992 QF, Sanchez Vicario vs Schultz McCarthy in that wild 4R in 1994 or Steffi struggle past Kimiko Date in 4R as well!
BRING 80s 90s WTA TENNIS justice! We need to see more players!! ASAP!

Illya Kuryakin I was speaking solely of Seles, not Graf. I am well aware of your temper, so Seles had more potential than Graf, and very well may have obtained around 30 grand slams.

I love Steffi's footwork. She's so responsive. Fernandez's first serves are in the 80s mph. It looks like some of her second serves may have been in the 40s. Is that possible? I saw one second serve in the 70s. Graf hit a second serve at 66mph. Amazing how different that is compared to today.
So easy to forget that this is almost thirty years ago. Racquet and string technology nowhere near what it is today.

@@th8257 Racquet, string, and speed-gun technology. The point at which the speed-gun picks up the ball improved. So did the ability of the speed-gun to measure serves out wide. That automatically increased the speed.
@Illya Kuryakin agreed. I think people forget that during the 90''s Steffi was consistently one of the biggest servers on tour.
Serena and Venus did not serve that much harder than Steffi in the 90s.

Please upload Graf vs Mary Joe Fernandez Wimbledon QF 1995. Also any Martinez vs Novotna matches. They only met four times on the WTA tour. Their last meeting was the Chase Championships first round 1997.
Its always been a complaint of mine that the coaches and commentators of todays game dont have enough footage that validates their expertise. Especially the women. There is plenty of the champions but not much of mary jo, shriver, mary Carrillo. I met mary jo, got her to sign a hat, didnt know anything about her game. Now i do. Thank you for that.

The Miami court was painfully slow and easily some of the slowest. Even the men's match here looked like in slow motion. Good match, though

These two were just in different leagues. MJ had a game more suited for the 1960’s & 70’s.

The lady commentator seems to side with MJ even when Steffi played great shots, referring back to an earlier Date match that Steffi had. Both commentators were not being fair but seemed to prefer MJ to win.
MJ played a fairly good first set but Graf was a better player in the right moments or should I say MJ couldn't keep pressure on Steffi to be able.yo squeeze herself out at important points.

I always wondered why Mary never changed her racket to a Wilson. I think that would have been more beneficial to her game.
Which particular Wilson racquet? All of the manufacturers make many different types of racquets, all of which play very differently.
