I have always understood that Abraham's sacrifice was a picture of the Father's sacrifice of Jesus, but I could never reconcile why God asked for it to begin, especially considering other practices by Molech and them. But this totally blew my mind. God was adamant that He was not like them and was clearly creating an eternal picture. If God promised to make a nation out of Abraham’s children, how would that happen if God required the sacrifice of Isaac? Despite that Abraham had FAITH that God would resurrect Isaac. But, it seems to me that, if the load of wood was bound to Isaac, for him to carry it, Isaac was, likewise, bound to the wood, for him to be sacrificed.
