Happy Easter! By the way... It's because God was drawing you near. He does that but many don't understand or recognize it Some follow and some turn their backs on Him. He wants us to let him into our life. A life he created.
The end times are near. The BIBLE scripture tells us what to look for those days are here. I pray for you to
Know Jesus and let Him in your life you won't be sorry. It's life changing. God Bless You!!!!

Hi Jess, I don’t believe I have ever introduced myself to you, but I’ve been following your RUclips channel for some time now and my name is Emmy Lou. When I first stumbled upon your channel and saw this young, tattooed, nose pierced young lady and thought to myself what in the world could this colorful character know about gardening...but what the heck...I’ll give her a try. I might add that I’m a southern bred and raised (Mississippi no doubt)58 (59 next month but whose counting) yr old that has had her share of ups and downs beginning at a very young age...so I guess you could say I have a wealth of wisdom. I have always said it’s not your good times that shape your character, but the tough ones. Although I was raised a Christian, I feel like my true spiritual walk with Jesus began when I was 28. Today you touched my heart and soul by so eloquently stating what I have felt so many times in my own garden. God bless you and keep spreading the fruit, sweetie.

Jess, I have been so lost this summer. I really can't explain it. After the 4th of July I just bottomed out. But, even in my weakest moments. God has provided everything for me. My abused unweeded garden produced abundantly. I need to pray like you explained. God, I just want to be close to you. I needed this today, Jess. Thanks for the uplifting devotional. Peace be with you! Pam

Dear Jess, thank you so much for sharing the story of the bird, I will definitely ask Jesus how I can paint His God-given peace. As an artist I felt your story coming, and it came to a place I can relate to, it grabbed me by the throat. I need to give that a place, and the best way for me, is make that painting, that God meant for me to make. Thank you for waking me up, again. Thank you for sowing the seeds of wonder, of joy, of peace, of gratitude, inspiration...
The practical application comes when the seeds you did sow in, at least, my soul, are starting to grow and find a place to settle. I love hearing your story, it makes me grow, even when I didn't get it at first.
I can't come over to meet you this weekend, I'm at the other side of the big pond, but maybe my little stories as comments on your videos, will provide you with yet another example that the seed-sowing through your channel, is really happening. Real-life, and even years after you posted something, like earlier devotionals. It did definitely sow a seed in my heart, in my soul, and I thank God for that. I thank God for you.
(You made my evening glow, now I can sleep, thank you)
    I bless you too,
    Love from The Netherlands,
    Diana

    Isaiah 55:10-13 KJV
✝️ 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
✝️11 So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
✝️12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
✝️13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

PEACE is what we ALL are seeking and sadly most never find. I think being a believer gives us a better understanding of true peace but many still are struggling with the storms because they haven't turned them over to our Father. And yes my dear, there is definitely a direct connection between the garden and PEACE. After all, that IS where it all began! I think God wants us to bear the fruit of the Spirit also be sharing His word and love.

Outwardly, I show the strong Christian woman who knows God has it. Inside is the scared little girl who knows God has it, but is still trembling. I will focus on the bird. I will focus on the cleft of the rock, my strong hiding place. Thank you...and I bless you.

This hit me so hard, it's amazing how God works through people & put this on your heart to share with us. I've had so many devastating things happen in my life that (at the time) I thought my life was over & I didn't see a way to keep going. I lost my mama when I was 10 & it devastated me, I lost my baby at 27 days old & wanted to die with him, I absolutely could not go on in this life, I was in such a dark place...I can't explain how God touched my life, but He did. His love & peace is the only explanation I have for being here right now. Thank you for this video Jess. You're such an inspiration

Wow, that one sentence stopped me in my tracks, something I've known but not thought about and maybe doubted even at times. I can't remember how I found you Jess but I love that I did. I've drifted these past few years and listening to you talk about your faith, life, struggles.... I feel is strengthening my bond again with Father. Thank you.

Dear Jess, your stories are impacting the lives of others just like your bird story impacted yours as a seed planted that took root, produces fruit, and tosses seeds out to produce more fruit at the most unexpected times and surprising places.
One such testimony changed my life and continues to shape and mold it on the trellis of time.
Through the years I have heard many stories of people who have visited heaven and been sent back to tell about it. This one captivated my heart because age and health and circomstances have reduced my garden to one lone lilac "tree" (lower branches of the bush being pruned) and a collection of succulents called hens and chicks and a smattering of herbs. My husband manages a few tomatoes, cukes and peppers and that's about it.
So the story goes this man dies and goes to heaven and is being given a specialized tour. He sees Jesus stop by to sit with a lady in her garden. It was the most beautiful and fragrant garden he had ever seen. As he watched them talk, it was obvious that Jesus was deeply breathing in each flower's aroma and caressing their delicate blooms admiring each flower petal and bud.
The man asked questions and discovered that when Jesus comes to visit people in heaven, His favorite place to meet them is in their garden.
Anxious to see his own home and meet Jesus there for the first time he asked to be taken to his own garden. Once there he was so surprised by its lack of flowers and the incredible smells that were missing that he had experienced at the other lady's garden. His had lovely manicured grass but no roses or jasmin or lavander or any other fragrant blooms. When he asked why the difference, why his was so bare, he was told the flowers in your garden in heaven are from your seeds of faith and thanksgiving times on earth. They are born from your worship and tears and sacrifices of praise down here and transplanted to your eternal home there because since the beginning The Lord set aside that special time to visit Adam and Eve in their garden. HE has always loved the gardens, in Eden, in Gethsemane where He sweat great drops of blood and even in the garden tomb where He was laid to rest.
Every day I try to sing Him new songs even if it's just a jouful noise and I look around me for all the beauty my eye can absorb and when the clouds come, I thank Him for the rain that will water the seeds and refresh my precious little thirsty plants.
I want to have a full to overflowing garden to share with Him some day.
I'm sure yours is already well established, Jess. ❤🙌👏🙌👏😊

Wow, Thank you God and Jess, this is so timely..about to go get my Mom in PA. We are going up to pack her life up and to move her in to our small home, store of course somethings, all while refinancing and needing to do some work on the house. And I am trying to pack, with my older daughter using a wash in product to dye her hair( in my bathroom,) and my special needs son just wants my attention anytime I sit for a quiet second and I want to do so much but am capable of far less time wise. So that cleft of protection sounds perfect, and so far you told that story about that painting in a way as an artist and Christian that caused me to understand it on another level. And boy, oh boy, I know I need my garden in better shape. And surrender for some reason is harder and harder as I get older. Honestly, sometimes the weeds just tend to look like good things too. So thank you!! I will seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance concerning where I might be cutting back the things He is planting and not yanking out the rest, you wove in practical advice you just have to listen to the whole devotional to hear those ideas to bear much fruit. 💟✝️💟🙌🏼

Jess it is so easy to get upset with Jesus. Tomorrow will be the 38 anniversary of my son Robby's death. He died when he was 13 months old. I had been praying for Jesus to heal him. But it is in times like this we need to offer up the sacrifice of praise. Romans 8:28 says all things work together for them that love God, and are called according to his purpose. I miscarried my second baby before Robby died. Right now am trying to understand why a biological drug I was given made my skin abnormal. I keep thanking Jesus for healing me. He word says by his stripes we are healed. And another verse says there is nothing to hard for God to do. A song we sang in church years ago. Part of it said "I don't need to understand I just need to hold your hand. Take the dearest things to me if that's how it must be. To draw me closer to you. Take my house's and lands if that's how it must be to draw me closer to you. I don't need to understand I just need to hold your hand". I probably don't have the words right lol. Music has a way of drawing me closer to God.

Keep shining that light dear sister! 💜
After still struggling in my understanding God lead me to Dan Mohler on YT, who spoke the gospel so simply, that I now am understanding who I am in Christ, I am beginning to understand my purpose in the Kingdom of God, my purpose in this world. To shine the light of God that Jesus, the Son of God, paid the price for with His human life, to restore us back to what we were in the original creation that God created in the beginning. God created us in His image, to be the image bearers of Love, His Love. And when Adam and Eve sinned, they became separated from God and instead of being loved and being love, they became in need of love. Jesus came to restore us back to God's Love and to show us what God's Love is. He became a model for us, a Savior of the World. 💜

So as I listened to your story, tears coursing down my cheeks, I felt what God wanted to teach me about the turmoil, the emptying, the pressing together of minutes, hours and days of pain, of brokenness, but most important of the still quiet, dry, safe sanctuary that lies within me. This place that takes me past hardness to love, past agony to pure joy, past grief and loneliness to relationship. This relationship is singular yet multiplied. It is between me and the Lord and hard won yet ripens into many lives. Jess, it was your personal story and it was mine. It was from the same soil and the same garden and yes, you did bless me. More over your blessing reached beyond me to those who are in my life. Cucamelons upon cucamelons.

I have been personally struggling with this and my situation presently in life and the anxiety of it all was weighing me down. I've never understood why we need to go to church and or worship God though I believe in him and know I'm alive bc of his mercy. Won't get into that but I honestly wouldn't be alive today a few times over if not for him intervening into my situation past to present. I have always struggled with church bc of how many are that go to church , how they view someone who doesn't have the best of the best or hasn't always made the best choices but always tries. I've felt less than , I've always felt out of place and until we went to this new church a few times never felt connected through the body of Christ. I've back slid into my old ways bc of lack of money, lack of desire to go bc I struggle with health, anxieties, depression and bipolar issues, loss alot of loss and let that drag me backwards here and there. Why bc lets be honest it's easier than forcing myself to do what every cell in me is screaming against doing but watching this gave me an understanding that to find that peace and joy I see in you I have to fight through my issues and go to tend my garden so that I can be a better person in Christ, a better mom (more gentle like you bc I'm a good mom love my kids but I get irritated and I'm grumpy with them and don't like it.) I want to be gentle and teach them to be loving and kind not quick to anger and rules. I want to improve my relationship with them , with God and be kind to other's instead of assuming the worst in ppl bc I learned along time ago that monster's aren't under your bed or in your closet they are in ppl that you often love or mistrusted and hurt you in ways no one should ever be hurt. That is hard to over right and my over protection of my girls has made me a leary , judgemental reclusive person. I want to change that and teach my Girls that bad stuff might happen but through God you can overcome and control how you react or what you become bc of someone else's choices. Sorry to go on and on and lay this out there just wanted to really say you help me with so much I struggle with and are a true testament of Christ's Love and the bountiful harvest that can come when you allow him to come in and tend to your garden.
    Thanks
    Dee

When a man is hungry, he can't fully appreciate the awesomeness of a Filet Mignon.
    The Lord said,
    .......with wisdom, get understanding.
Many people know the price of everything, and the value of nothing.
You, young lady, are like a well seasoned Filet Mignon...
    An unexpected treat .
I don't mean to sound stupid, but the Lord is using you to break down Truth in a way that others can easily understand.
It's not just digestible. It lingers.
    It nourishes.
    It heals.
    It grows.
I know I'm not the only one.
It's not just in my head.
Your spirit bears witness with mine.
Forgive me if I offend or seem too real over some social media platform, but I so appreciate you, and I pray you never stop being You.

While you were telling the story of peace, I kept thinking of Jesus in the boat...asleep, in perfect peace. It's amazing how much peace comes in when we know that God is our good father. I loved how you said He doesn't just give us enough for our own sustenance, but the fruit, when it bears seed, is more than enough to share!❤ Thank you for sharing your faith!

    Jessica,
I pray you will read this.
I truly love your family and enjoy many of your videos even though I disagree with parts of many of them. I have gardened probably 20 years before you were born. During my career I lived in 9 of America's states and in England for 3 years. I have had a garden every year since I was 14 (and I am probably old enough to be your grandpa) and I have had a garden every place I lived. In California (where I was when I retired) my garden was on the large balcony of the townhouse I bought, but it was a huge garden that produced abundantly. In England the landlord who owned the house I lived in would not let me plant a garden so I rented what the Brits called an allotment. (A large property just outside the town I lived in where people could rent a plot to grow their veggies.) I have had gardens with probably 3 times the square footage of the very nice gardens you had this past spring and summer. In my early career life I taught agriculture in a high school. I once owned a 357 acre farm and ranch. I really know very much about gardening and ranching. Being in my gardens and on my ranch, I felt a closeness to my Creator long before He became my Lord and Redeemer. I was raised in a Baptist church in south Texas. However, I never let God into my life until I was 51 years of age. I had a very successful career life and never felt the need for God. Three months before God began drawing me to Him He allowed a couple disasters in my life to get my attention so I would know He owned my soul and not me. One day I broke down and cried like a baby, --- tears of joy because I finally realized He truly did have a love for me that surpasses any humanly understanding and that I really did need Him. And I cried tears of shame for the sinful life I had lived. I never committed any crimes but I broke just about every one of God's laws - often, and I enjoyed wallowing in my sins. I thought. When it finally came, my repentance was real. He immediately changed me into the servant of Christ I am now. I lost very many friends and I lost what little family I had left at that time because I was called by God to be His servant. All true Christians will serve the Lord and we will count it and any trials and tribulations He may give us, joy. True Christians are in the world but we are not of the world. God told me I was no longer retired, that I was now His servant. He tells that to all His children. We have no choice but to be obedient to Him. We will take joy in serving Him even when it cost us dearly. I watch all your new videos and have gone back and watched many of your older ones. Knowing and practicing agriculture since way before you were born, I agree with some of your teachings on agriculture but I disagree with a lot of them. Often (and occasionally you even admit) it seems like everything is trial and error. You teach your methods are the only way to go and I vehemently disagree for a myriad of reasons. Your subscribers live all over the world. Their gardens do not have the same soil base as yours. Most do not live in the same agricultural zone as you. Most of them do not garden full time like you and Jeremiah do. Most of them work for their money (like taught in the Bible) instead of begging for it to be given to them. There are so many variables that come into play and what you teach is not applicable to many. At times you are even arrogant about what you teach. Because most people really knows nothing about gardening, they believe you, they trust your teachings and do not know that what you teach will not work all over the world. Much of what you teach will not work for me here on the Texas Gulf Coast. Right now you do not have much growing at all. Right now I have radishes, cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, beets and peppers growing. You have your husband and kids to assist you in everything. I am single. Many of your subscribers are single. What gets done here on my rural property and in many of your subscribers properties is all done by me and them. Alone. We cook, we do laundry, we clean the house, we maintain our vehicles, we mow the grass, we maintain our gardens and try to grow them larger each year. I have fruit and nut trees, I have white and black grapes, I have berries, I have rose gardens and most of all I have ministries where I serve Jesus. I have a jail ministry that is very time consuming, but very profitable in ways pleasing to the Lord. I have a Facebook ministry that touches people all over the world. All I do, I pay for. I never beg or ask for money. I never get on the internet and ask people to "support" me. What really bothers me about you is that you are afraid of losing subscribers because of your devotionals. You made that statement in one of your videos. I love your devotionals. The huge majority of your subscribers loves them. In a brief review of "thumbs up" and of "thumbs down" your videos gets, to me it does not seem your devotionals are disliked more than the others. Read the comments under your devotionals. Your subscribers love them. So what if you lose a few subscribers because of them??? Wouldn't you rather please God than man??? You could have such an awesome ministry if you did more devotionals. I went to your playlist and if I counted correctly you have 267 videos posted. Only 13 of them are devotionals. Jess that is less than 5%. Don't you owe God more than that? Don't you owe your subscribers more than that? People need to know more about the fruits of the Spirit than they do about growing veggies. I pray you take this the way it is intended and do not get angry. Your audience needs to hear the Gospel of Jesus who is the Christ more than they need to hear how to grow veggies in your agricultural zone. I really hope you will share devotionals more often than one every two or three months. The world is hungering and thirsting for righteousness. The world needs Jesus. Here are a few scriptures I want to share with you praying they will help you. I love your family and I love what y'all do. I just pray you share Jesus more. (I only read and share the King James version. )

Just came upon this tonight, " for such a time as this... " when the world is walking in a state of pandemic fear. All day as I've prayed and read God's Word of TRUTH, I have smiled because His peace kept washing over me and there was no fear... rather faith in the character of God and His kingdom faithfulness.
All that to say that this post was no accident that I found this older vlog today of all days! I am celebrating 50 years of walking as a follower of Jesus Christ and it warmed my heart and touched my soul to hear the depths of despair that God has pulled you from and set you in the cleft of the rock (like Moses in Ex. 33-34) shining His glory on you so His transformation could blossom in your life! Thank you for sharing such a simple yet profound truth based on God's Holy Word and His Garden which we will return to with Him one day soon!.

Hi Jess! I just watched this devotional from your heart today, 6/1/20. Wow ... the Word of God is so amazing! Who would have known that this special message that you shared about your own testimony & the Fruit of the Spirit would be so perfect and even more timely 8 months after you shared it the first time! Now that we have gone through 3 months of pandemic flu & isolation ... and now riots breaking out throughout our country ... how desperately we need to hear your message about the Fruit of the Spirit! I have been encouraged today to share the great abundance of the Fruit of the Spirit ... that great, amazing multiplication of God's gifts ... to everyone, every place & every situation that is in my sphere of influence! I pray this message is re-posted and shared by many during this time of uncertainty, fear, unrest, pain & sorrow. May we not respond to violence & evil with more violence & evil ... may we respond to all people with God's love, peace, faithfulness, joy, goodness, gentleness, patience, self-control & kindness that is above & beyond our circumstances or understanding! Love your heart & spirit Jess! I bless YOU!

Hey Jess! Well that was beautiful and prolific! This definitely does resound with me as you have been an inspiration in my life since I've begun watching your RUclips channel. I was brought up going to church and participated for a lot of my adult life. Even when I didn't go to church, I still had a relationship with God. Then my mom passed away in 2015, and I've had this large empty spot in my soul ever since. Angry that I watched her die, angry that she died, angry that she left me a demented father to care for. Amongst other feelings that come along with the grieving process, so I totally get that. I honestly thought my dreams died long ago. I always wanted to live in the country & have a farm, but at 55, it ain't happenin'. However..., all that being said, my head was a jumbled mess. I have found peace in the garden. I found joy on your channel. I got inspired to find my joy right here under my feet. I moved into my parents' house, where I grew up, and have since had to put my dad in a residential facility. This property is an acre, plenty enough space for a garden, a chicken coop, and maybe one day a couple goats. And a sprinkling of wonderful grandchildren in which I am sowing seeds of gardening love. So yes, you have touched many lives....put 200,00 toothpicks in a line and pretend they're subscribers. That ought to give a reality to how many seeds of beauty you've sown. Sow kindness, Reap beauty. (Love my shirts, btw). Thank you, and I bless you back! Peace and joy ✌❤ Monique from River Ridge LA (home of the 2019 Little League World Series champs!! ⚾🏆👍)

Thank you for sharing your heart so eloquently. I've been reflecting for a while now about how we, the Church, like to put a big focus on Kingdom at the expense of righteousness. But as you seem to be saying the two are always connected.
My family have been through two church splits in the last five years, and both times I was part of the leadership team. No one prepares you for these things. The enemy screams with accusation and failure. BUT... Father God has made his kindness known, spoken truth and revealed areas of my heart that He's committed to not only heal but make new. Difficult, painful and often frustrating. So often questions asked go unanswered, but there remains an underlying peace, that whatever happens He knows best. He owes us nothing, yet invites us to share in ALL of who He is. Jesus is worth this.
Thanks for all the videos, we're following you from Sheffield UK. Actually stumbled across one of your other devotionals and kept watching. You've all brought encouragement to us in our faith and in our "homesteading" We've currently got chickens, rabbits and as many raised beds as we can feasibly fit in our urban back garden. Hoping, praying, and trusting God for the acres to come, but thankful for the lessons we can learn right here. Thanks again and God bless.

Usually I drink my coffee and draw new garden plans (I am building beds and trying to figure out how I want them in my back yard lol there are about 20 different designs) back to my point of the comment though, I usually watch your garden tours in the morning because they give me peace and just make my heart full. I just wanted to leave a quick hello. 👋🏼 YHWH has put it on my heart over the last year or so to start a garden, but He has filled me with an urgency this year to really get started. I am overcome with excitement and joy and have pretty much been obsessing over it! This will sound weird, but It feels like he is calling me to the soil. I found your gardening book on Amazon and read it in one weekend! I had no clue at the time that you were such a strong follower of Christ. It’s no surprise that I feel a connection to you watching your videos and learning from you. I truly feel God led me to you to use you as my mentor through this process and to help bring to life the true meaning of what I’m meant to find on this journey. Thank you for being such an inspiration ❤
